Excellent food and service. Top floor open air, on the edge of town centre busy area.
Everything we had was excellent. They even changed the tvs from futbol to American football for my son!!

This is a great local restaurant. We had the shrimp dishes (empanizados & de la casa) and they were delicious. The service was great and the ambiance is top notch. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of a hotel and the open air feels so refreshing. Also, the views of the town are fabulous. We recommend this spot for a nice meal and a nice break from all the shopping.

We had an excellent meal on Valentine’s night. I had the seared tuna. It was nicely done to my liking. My partner thought it was overcooked. It was still pink inside. The bed of mashed potatoes and vegetables was tasty with a nice amount of garlic. Maybe just ask for it to be rare, if that’s what you like.
The margarita was tasty and not over priced. I have enjoyed La Chicatana on several occasions. The service was a bit lacking. They were super busy for V- day…. So no complaints here.

This breakfast will live in my dreams until I can eat it again. I ordered the eggs benedict and never regretted my choice. The biscuits were flaky and buttery, the ham was thick and delicious, the hollandaise was perfection. I'd stay at this hotel just to eat here.

Very nice restaurant! The food is the best I had in Huatulco. The Taco was amazing and the Shrimps and mashed potatoes are awesome! And the best thing is, that it is not (!) expensive at all and the service is really good! On top of that there is a nice view and ambiente and there a fans, so it is not that hot!

Exceptional high quality fresh food that’s absolutely delicious. This place was great. Be patient! Upon placing your order. It takes a while for food to come out. Price wise $ coming from abroad is amazing!

This restaurant surpassed our expectations. The French toast I had with coconut cream filling was so good I believe it’s the best I’ve ever had. It was especially good with a carajillo-which is espresso and Liquor 43 over ice. My partner had chicken tacos and they were delicious as well with lots of chicken filling and the fresh salsa on the side added heat and complexity. Beautiful views and it’s an open air restaurant. One bite of my food today and I said out loud “we are coming back!”

Decided to give this restaurant a try after reading positive reviews. It ended up being better than expected! Food was tasty, well-prepared with fresh ingredients, good seasoning, and surprisingly nice plating. Enjoyed the fish empanadas made with fresh local Barrilete (Skipkack). Baja-style shrimp and fish tacos were even tastier.
Restaurant had a nice ambience - clean and tidy - with nice decor, and a pretty view of the city and surrounding mountains.
Encourage checking it out… don’t forget to tip well 🙂

Had the motuleños with freshly squeezed orange juice and it was incredible. Great atmosphere with a beautiful view of town and the mountains. Lovely staff and super accommodating to my gluten free diet. Can’t wait to go again.

This review is mainly for your service employee Vanessa. We were not happy with our meal but Vanessa came by and asked us about the meal She did an amazing job and really showed that she cared about why we were unhappy. She is super nice, super employee and we appreciated that she did care. She deserves a raise!

I love la chicatana... rooftop restaurant and bar with a chill atmosphere and nice view of the little town. They have handicap access through the hotel/elevator, food is fresh and made to order which can cause little delays, I got more dishes but didn't take pictures like carne a la tampiqueña, camarones al coco (the best)

Recommend making reservations. Busy and once you've been you'll know why.
Four cheese fettuccine outstanding.
We also had a beef dip which changed how i think of beef dip. Wish the beef dips back home were this great.
Shared a taco mexteco. Didn't realize a pepper was on ot... or rather that the pepper was spicy. What a fantastic surprise! Everyone loved the little heat mixed with shrimp avocado and other bits in there 😉

Thank you for finding us seating as a nonreservation show up 😉 was great.

Great views, great service, great food.

The French toast was fantastic (but HUGE), could definitely be shared between two people. Great spot for coffee and breakfast with a view!

I love this restaurant…on a hot day, you can eat out on the rooftop with a nice refreshing breeze and not have to be inside. And this was the reason I chose to dine here tonight.

They have a pretty good selection of items you can order, pastas burgers, pizza, salads, tacos, and ceviche.

Tonight I had a Caesar salad and asked for carne asada instead of chicken breast. I also ordered a side of the steamed vegetables. I’ve had these before, and I must say they are some of the very best vegetables I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant. My plate of vegetables consisted of broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots, and onion. they are always cooked to perfection and delicately seasoned. The Caesar salad was good, and quite a good size. it’s different than what you might expect in a restaurant in United States. The salad dressing was a slightly different flavor and consistency than what you would expect to be a Caesar salad dressing. It still was very tasty. They bring the salad to you with the dressing separate from the salad.

The Meseros were quite attentive and polite. It wasn’t very busy during my visit there most likely because it was early afternoon and before the dinner crowd. I enjoyed my meal which only put me out of pocket 200 pesos. I would recommend this place to all.

Alex had a fillet mignon steak, and I had the Chicken Supreme. The steak was soooo tender. And we both got lots of vegetables. I took some of my chicken home to enjoy. The service was great. My one complaint is the cost of a 5 ounce glass of wine for 95 pesos or $7.50 They serve Reservado Sauvgnon Blanc for which we pay 150 pesos a bottle. One does not have to drink, so I would give them a 5 star for service and our meal. We will definitely go back again.

A "must do" while in Huatulco! Our wonderful tour guide, Alfonso Gabriel from Best Huatulco Tours took us to La Chicatana for dinner after a shopping and Mezcal tasting evening. I wish we went here to this beautiful restaurant at the beginning of our vacation, because we would have come here more:) Everyone enjoyed something different, from local cuisine to honestly, the best pizza we have ever had! Presentation was awesome, food was so delicious and the view was stunning!! I can't thank them enough for inviting us to share in the tasting of the Chicatana Ants...an experience we will never forget! Looking forward to coming back to try the amazing French toast for breakfast!
