Cafe Pluma Oro Del Sur

I wanted some freshly roasted coffee beans to take home. We didn't realize what an adventure this detour would be, but it was totally worth the effort. We simply followed Google Maps up here, and rolled into the owner's farm as he was loading a truck. There is no signage or indication that this is a business, and the road up is steep and narrow. We had to reverse a bit in order to let two trucks pass.

The owner said hello and he speaks passable English, which was great because our Spanish sucks. He showed us his barn in which is loaded with hundreds of bags of fresh unroasted coffee, as well as the roaster they use to create a medium and light roast. Both have amazing aroma. We got 1 kilo of each for half the price of beans in the US.

Awesome experience. The lady took us around the property, spoke about the entire process, from planting to harvesting, to toasting and grinding. We purchased coffee mixed and ground to our liking. Also tasted (and purchased) chocolate and chocolate covered coffee beans. Breakfasts are only available if booked the day before, so we missed out. But otherwise, a worthwhile adventure! Road up here is paved and very narrow, with some obvious hurricane damage from last year. But we were able to get through no problems with our van.

This is a wonderful hidden place. The coffee tastes fantastic and is grown and processed nearby by this family. Be sure to take their coffee tour. Allow 2 to 3 hours.

Coming here was the highlight of my family's trip to Huatulco! We were directed here by a local taxi driver who told us not to go to Finca San Gabriel because it was "too touristy". We're so glad we listened to him! The family was so nice and showed us around. Having owned a coffee shop and being coffee connoisseurs, they indulged us and gave detailed answers to our every question. We learned so much and we ended up buying around three kilograms of coffee! You can tell their coffee is different than what you'll find anywhere else because it smells different but still smells SOOO GOOOD!!

A really nice place in the midst of the jungle near pluma hidalgo. They have three really cute dogs, really friendly, and its just so nice to sit there. The place is a family place. Very cozy

Experiencia muy agradable conociendo una finca de café, la gente es especialmente amable y te ofrecen la oportunidad de tomar un desayuno después del tour si llegas temprano (~10am). Tienen plantas de café de muestra junto a su zona de tostado así que no es necesario subir hasta donde tienen los plantíos (1400 msnm). Venden café con distintos grados de tostado, así como miel que ellos mismos recolectan. Nos prepararon una café especial llamado café de talega que se hace con un filtro de tela.

Hermoso lugar, recomiendo ampliamente su cafe tipo pluma. Armonia total en este lugar magico, amo mi tierra oaxaqueña y su gente. Agradezco la atencion de la señora Georgina y sus hijos marlen y jorge muy agradable su compañia y su explicacion sobre el tema del cafe. Gracias por la comida tan deliciosa a la leña.
