Jesus and Jonathan were awesome on our Whale Shark tour! It is an Incredible experience and these guys are pros with it. Ceviche for lunch was awesome, everything top notch!

These guys are great, very friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to see 2 whale sharks, the number you will see will vary day to day, some days there will only be 2 others there might be 50+.
The boats aren't the fastest out there, some costs definitely passed us on the way out and the way back but it was comfortable enough, thankfully we only had to go out about an hour but that also varies day to day.
They made ceviche at the end of the tour, it was delicious.
For anyone looking to do the whale shark trips some general advice: bring your own mask that fits, it doesn't need to be expensive but it needs to fit well, any local dive shop either in Isla or at your home should be able to sell you one. Masks that don't fit make for a poor first snorkeling experience. Good fins will make keeping up with the whale sharks easy, the kind they give you you probably won't have a chance.
If you wear a wetsuit then you don't need to wear a life jacket, it's more comfortable to swim and faster.
If you can get some experience snorkeling before going out you will enjoy the experience much more, it was clear that a lot of the first time snorkelers got a lot less out of the experience than the more experienced people with their own gear.
How it works is there will be about 40 boats in a relatively small area looking for whale sharks, your Capitan will try to position you as close to whale shark as possible and tell you to jump in (2 people at a time from each boat) and you will chase after the whale shark, if you are fast enough you can stay with them easily but most people struggled to keep up so they only swam with them 30s tops each time. Each pair of people got to go in 3-4 times.

It's an awesome experience but I definitely saw a few people who didn't get the most out of it.

Also if you get sea sick take some medication before going out, no one wants their day ruined by sea sickness.

I have been sailing with Ceviche Tours for at least 5 years. They are a wonderful family of local seamen who take wonderful care of their client. Jesus is the best. And they make incredible ceviche too.

Updated: I have now been boating with Ceviche Tours for almost 10 years. Jesus and Ana are like family and treat us like royalty. We went swimming with the whale sharks with Ceviche a few years ago and it was truly a highlight of my life. I would highly recommend this company.

Highly recommend this tour! We had a fantastic time. Jesus went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. The rest of the crew made sure we were all happy with how many whale sharks we saw before we left. Couldn't recommend ceviche tours enough!

We had the best time with Jesus and the crew. Everyone was super friendly and they have the best little beach there to set off from. They took us snorkeling and caught some barracuda which they grilled up expertly at their beachside kitchen while we drank beers enjoying the beach and waves. A+ all around. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience. Saw whale sharks, manta ray, turtles, dolphins. These guys are great. Sandwiches for lunch were good. The ceviche was awesome. Fun trip.

Had the most fantastic excursion to see the whale sharks on the final day of the season with incredible captains Jesus and Fred. We saw dolphins, turtles, lots of fish and most importantly the majestic whale sharks. I love how considerate they are to nature and these wild animals in their habitats, taking every precaution to ensure the safety and comfort of the whales and teaching us the same thing 💙 thank you so much for a wonderful day x

Wonderful time with Ceviche Tours today. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone traveling to Cancun or Isla Mujeres area.

Set up the tour with Jesus, very smoothly.
Arrived smoothly and took the boat with our guide Diego and the captain Toni.
After a short ride from cancun to isla de mujeres we met jesus and took a few more people on board.
We were 7 on the boat plus Diego and Toni.
Then after 40/50 minutes ride we arrived at the spot.
10 minutes after they had spotted some sharkwhales.
Around 50+ shark whale were there and bonus of the day giant manta rays.
The show was amazing.
We dived 3 times 10 minutes by group of 2.
Then headed back while Diego prepared a Ceviche at the back of the boat.
After 30 minutes we stopped at the North beach of isla de mujeres and went to swim for a bit before to share the Ceviche all together.
Really smooth experience, good price and quality service.
Diego is an animal lover and Toni a very good captain, they were both very helpful and informative.

We chose Isla Mujeres for our destination wedding at the end of June specifically because we wanted to take our guests swimming with the whale sharks. Ceviche Tours was responsive and able to handle our requests to reserve 7 private boats! We were able to pay online with a CC and it was very easy. They met us at the Mia Reef pier and all of our guests had a great time!!

We went to a fishing tour with Jesus and his brother, Fred. They took very good care of us and we had so much fun! We caught 5 fish total. After we got back, Jesus prepared an amazing ceviche with the fish we caught. It was a great experience and we recommend them to everyone!! We sure will be back!!

Jesus and Jaime were great guides and knew all the right spots for us to see aquatic wildlife… We saw dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, fly fish, and whale sharks! More than we’d even hoped for. After stopping by one of the reefs on the way back to Isla Mujeres, Jesus prepared fresh pico de gallo and conch ceviche on the boat for us. Definitely recommend these guys!!

Great guides! Very thoughtful and helpful. It is a long bumpy ride so use seasickness medicine unless you are certain it won’t bother you.

Expérience incroyable ! Nous avons vu dauphin, poisson voulant sur le trajet. Après nous avons nager à 3 reprises à les requins. Fred qui nous accompagne est au toppp. Ils nous ont préparé un céviche aussi. Expérience incroyable...... Merciiiii
