Love this little out of the way gem! We shared the nachos, ceviche, and guacamole with some cold drinks and all were delicious. The server was lovely with recommendations on which condiments to try with each dish. The tables were shaded with a nice breeze.

If you ever go to Isla Mujeres, this is the place to eat. Lunch, dinner or just casual. It's on the southern end of the island. The ceviche is the best as well as many other dishes. Capitan and his family run it and are the best people.

We only went for a few margaritas and had a great time. Very sweet lady waited on us and she was wonderful. Food smelled delicious but we had just had a late breakfast.

On of the best restaurant of our whole trip! The food was excellent! Service was amazing and this is truly a mom and pop restaurant. The ceviche was to die for. fajita were very good as well. If you like spicy just ask and they will give you some extra habanero peppers.

Awesome hidden little gem at the end of the road. Great food and cheap drinks. Had an awesome lunch here while taking a break on our golf cart rides around the island. They have a cool little dock you can walk down as well.

What a hidden gem literally at the end of the road. Glad I was able to find this spot, completely off the beaten path of Isla and gave it a try. The reviews are right - it’s seriously good, homemade food from gracious hosts.

Chose your seat, order your meal - we had the fish and shrimp with butter and garlic and this was finger licking good. The guacamole was good but needed some salt. My spicy margarita was spiced to the “t” and oh so delicious. I would definitely visit this place again. We enjoyed the entertainment of the blue crabs. An amazing value and chill experience for $30 USD.

I hope you find my review helpful. If so, please give me a thumbs up. Thank you.

Wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant.
Super friendly, extensive beer 🍺 selection, plenty of cocktail 🍹 options, terrific guacamole 🥑 fabulous fish 🐠 tacos 🌮 and they make their own spicy 🌶 sauces and oil.
They only take cash and take US dollars 💵
The terminus of the Islenos bus 🚌 route #3 is right outside so you can come here for an amazing time for only $2 round trip on the bus 🚌

6 years ago my wife and I took a wrong turn with the golf cart but decided to see where the road led anyway. Eventually we reached a dead end and saw the tiny sandwich board beckoning us to La Palapa del Capitan; which at that time was nothing more than a couple of plastic tables, two rope swings attached to a tiny bar, and a restroom you literally had to walk through the living room of the cute couple who owns it to use. We proceeded to enjoy not only the best guacamole and mojitos on the island, but some of the best we've ever had period.

We always swore to each other that whenever we ended up back on the island this would be a must stop, and we made good on that promise to each other this Easter weekend. It was refreshing to see that they have clearly been doing good, as they have built it up a little without thankfully losing its hidden gem charm. Only a few tables and a palapa have been added, as well as an upgraded restroom detached from the main tiny building. The guac and mojitos still rocked our world, as well as fish tacos which were easily the best I've ever had in the Mexican Caribbean.

All of it was served by the same kind and jovial family, still doing their thing and serving up some of the best food and drinks you could ever hope to find on the island. Trust me, this breezy relaxed island atmosphere is now impossible to find anywhere else on Isla Mujeres. Take the wrong turn up the wrong road to find the right hidden beach shack you never knew you were looking for. Thank me later.

Isla Mujeres' best kept secret. This is run by a wonderful husband & wife couple that are churning out a small menu of strong flavors. The guac was the best my wife and I had tasted on the island. Many people shy away from this place because of the shady looking location (tourists! bah!) but the food and friends you'll find there more than make up for it. You'll also see actual crabs walking around like they own the place! Just a wonderful little restaurant.

No frills chill spot with simple but tasty menu. Good selection of drinks and beers. Friendly staff. Off the beaten path and seems to be more frequented by boat, has a dock.

Stumbled upon here by accident while scooting about the island, and what a gem! We only stopped for cocktails which were lovely, and the table next to us had food which smelt and looked amazing!

Great little place with a wonderful view. Stop in, grab a beer, buy a seashell, wonderful ceviche, feed the land crabs under the palapa and go check out the breathtaking view from the mangrove pier.

Come for the conch ceviche. Stay for the great service, wise-cracking bartender, delicious homemade salsa picante, and keep your eyes peeled for a friendly crab or two.
