Mocambo Restaurantes

The service was fantastic. The food and drinks were fresh and delicious. The shrimp were stuffed with a crab and tomato sauce that was like nothing I've had before - I loved it! We sat steps away from the shore and waited for the sunset.

We went for the wonderful fish but had an wonderful experience. What a place right by the water. The frozen glass for the beer was spot on. Food, service was on point. Will go to it every time we are in Cancún. You will enjoy it as well.

It was here, 8 years ago, where I discovered my love for ceviche. 8 years later, upon our return, it’s still as good as I remember. During our 7 day trip here, we came to Mocambo for lunch 3 times always getting the shrimp ceviche. It’s light, vibrant, and so fresh. There are guys cleaning fish right in front of you.

I forgot to mention...you will he dining RIGHT on the water next to the pier where tons of boats dock. You can even be sitting in the sand if you’d like, which we always do.

Beyond the ceviche, which is a must-get, we have never been disappointed by the food we get: the fajitas (chicken, steak, and shrimp, all are good), the guacamole, the tacos. We have never had a bad experience here.

Whenever we come back to the island, we will definitely be coming back to Mocambo.

Great food, great service! Amazing ceviche! Half the dining area is on the sand (under a roof) so you can sink your toes into the sand while you eat!

Drinks: very large, you can order a half a yard drink here which comes in a tall plastic cup. They were good but I felt like they were not overly strong which is good/bad depending on how tipsy you want to get. To be fair, I didn’t finish my drink all the way so that is a factor. I got the normal margarita and didn’t find a huge difference in taste or alcohol content from the golden or Cadillac margarita the restaurant of my party got.

Service: excellent, our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. His helper was as well. They cleared our table consistently and I felt the waiter had a good feel of when we needed to order something or when to leave us be.

Food: really good! The stuffed avocado is seriously worth it! Very yummy! The regular guacamole is also good, make sure to add lime to it (given time you). It really enhances the flavor! The seafood paella was tasty and filing! I ordered the catch of the day (snapper) in a butter sauce and it was cooked to perfection! Melted in my mouth! The coconut shrimp medley (pictured) was good. You got extra filling on the side since the coconut was small. The pineapple shrimp were also good though maybe not enough if you’re super hungry.

The ambiance was great here! You could eat in the restaurant or on the beach in shade (which we did). It’s a great restaurant to start off a vacation for sure! Also, credit cards are accepted!

Overall, would go back again if I found myself on that side of the island.

If you are in isla mujeres, this is the place to eat! It’s near the beach and it’s worth every penny! The stuffed avocado was amazing! My favorite! Our family also had the lobster fettuccine and the mariscos paella! The service was great and the strawberry margarita was delicious- make sure you ask to not be so sweet because that’s the best way to have it. Their traditional margarita that comes in a big flute glass was strong!

The food is amazing. The chips and quac are perfection a d the ceviche....to die for. Huge portion, perfect taste. Can't go wrong. My mother and I both ate and still took the rest to go. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for good food.

This place was right next to where were left on our catamaran cruise and it smelled so good, we just had to come back the next day. We tried the chicken and beef fajitas and they were fantastic. The tortillas were delicious and ultra fresh. I would definitely recommend this place!

Very good seafood right on the beach of Isla mujeres. Good service and nice presentation.

The pico de Gallo and chicken tacos were amazing. It was around 330 and a band was playing ... GREAT MUSIC! Good service too

My son was so sandy and needed to rinse off before eating, there’s no sink in the bathroom so he would be able to wash his face so the bartender “hosed him down” lol very fun atmosphere

Food was great but the drinks were even better. I had to leave after the second one because it was too good and I would have stayed longer than I should had I had a 3rd drink. I had the fried fish and really enjoyed it. Friendly wait staff especially Gabriel who was our waiter

Great seafood, great service, and right on the beach. My boyfriend had the breaded fish, which was delicious. And I had the Mayan fish dish (sorry I dont remember the exact names) but they were both great.

Excellent service, the staff was amazing and the food was on point! 10/10 points!
I can totally recommend this place for friends, people that want a great ambiance and even ourselves will be coming back!
