Hotel Playa La Media Luna

We really loved this place with the AC. The AC in the room was blasting when we arrived, so it really helped with the walk up the steps. We had to go up about three flights to the room because they don't have an elevator, but they helped us with the bags. The place had a really cozy and homey feeling. They had their own little private stretch of beach right in the back, but you are not allowed to swim there because of the rocks. The hotel staff were super friendly. They do have a small bar by the pool. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely visit again.

Great hotel in the middle of the north beach. Food vendors and beaches are all walking distance. 3 pools and on the beach even though you are not allowed to swim. Small bar available most of the days with very affordable options. Clean rooms and very friendly staff

We stayed in the king jacuzzi suite with ocean view. It was great and we really enjoyed the patio. The hotel location is just a few minutes walk from all the restaurants and bars and playa Norte, but it is tucked away and quiet

We absolutely love this hotel. It’s right in the center but feels tucked away, the employees are so nice and helpful, the scenery couldn’t be more beautiful, the room was spacious and super clean. Sea turtles were nesting on the beach at night. But my 8 year old daughter’s favorite feature: the kitty cats. The owner’s daughter went hunting for them with my daughter to take up to our room and snuggle. We swam with dolphins and kissed manatees, but my daughter’s favorite part of the trip was the hotel and cats. I can’t say enough good things.

This was a lovely hotel, basic rooms but clean and had a fridge for drinks. Also the pool was great for the kids and the fact it looked over a quite beach was great. You cant swim in the sea that you can see from the hotel due to how choppy it is, but this is why that beach is so quite. Your only a short walk to the beach on the other side that is gorgeous but full of beach bars where you have to pay for beds.... The hotel is also only a short walk to all the restaurants and bars, but far enough away that you dont hear any noise or music. Great stay would visit again, but next time would get a sea view room.

Yes, we questioned to get closer to beach or way but this was best choice. Downtown location was perfect with easy access to bars and restaurants and the beach was amazing.

We loved our stay at Playa la media Luna. The staff is so kind, our kids loved the 3 pools, and the rooms were clean and well taken care of. We loved the natural wildlife in the playa area, and the hotel is so close to food (cafe hildago) and the beach (playa Norte is only a 5 minute walk). We will definitely stay here next time too!

It’s one of those hotels you want to come back to. Very nice people in the hotel, you can’t beat the location. It’s 5 min walk to playa Norte, it’s beachfront( you can’t swim in that beach, but it’s super close to the swimming area, so for me it was amazing ), and you still are in a peaceful area, where you can relax and just enjoy your time at isla mujeres. We took the room which is semi view to the beach, and it’s great, comfy bed, you feel the ocean breath while opening the balcony. The pools are great.
It does not have a cafe, but it does not bother me at all. There is a little bar you can enjoy with drinks and snacks, and they are perfectly fine if you chill next to the hotel with your food.
Absolutely recommend this place.

Beautiful gem tucked into a private cove on the north end. We stayed in the original side of this hotel which was very charming. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well, bathroom was clean with plenty of fresh water. Pool bar open during the day and for happy hour. You can order food from the bartender. I would definitely stay here again.

Last minute trip! Great location walking distance to beach and most popular places. I did rent a golf cart there with Easy Cart rentals. Which I got when I arrived to hotel. Good size rooms. Quiet area.

This is an older hotel and somewhat dated. The rooms are small and the beds aren’t the most comfortable. However, this place has a wonderful Mexican charm about it, and the balcony that our room had made you forget about any inequities you might encounter. The huge balcony and the spectacular views make this a must stay if you were visiting Isla Mujeres!!! This hotel is set in one of the most beautiful locations anyone could ask for. Its own private little cove and white sandy beach, make this truly a paradise!!
The location is also hard to beat. It is walking distance to almost anywhere you might want to go. Beautiful beaches, great restaurants and any shopping you might want are all within walking distance. We will definitely be staying at Hotel Playa La Media Luna again 😊

I reserved a room with the sea view and I got a sea view room on the ground floor. It's nice if you want to be just in front of the swimming pool but you have to be most of the time with the curtains closed because no privacy and people walk around. So I asked at the front desk for another room where I can enjoy the view night and day, and Alejandra got me that on my second day!!!

Location is perfect. Feels secluded but is a short walk to all that Centro has to offer. The property is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are basic but had everything we could need. The pool needs some TLC but wasn't a problem at all.

Just wow! Part of the property is a little rustic and part of it is modern. We stayed in a room that was part of the original area and enjoyed it very much. The room was clean and spacious. Anything we needed from the front desk they were quick to help with.

Great stay and one we will return to for sure!

I love to stay at play media Luna because there is a fabulous pool and the beach and the ocean sounds quite lovely that you can hear in your Hamic on your balcony

The view is amazing, especially from one of the rooms with a jacuzzi tub or from the pool, and the rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. The hotel can help you arrange whale shark snorkeling or fishing tours, and the boat crews they use (Keen) are excellent. It's on an island, so don't be surprised if things run slow, the wifi doesn't always work, or the power goes out and it takes them a few hours to get the generator running. There are cats and dogs running around. But you wanted to experience Mexico, right?

Love love love this hotel. This is our 5th year coming here in February and the views from the porches or balconies are amazing. It’s so close to everything around North Beach. My only suggestion would be the hotel heats their small hot tub pool so that you can enjoy it in the evenings.
