Located in Mercado de Merced which is quieter and less touristy than Mercado November 28.

Food here was excellent and prices were lower as well.

The best Oaxacan food we found! It's located inside a market, but don't let the lack of a restaurant dissuade you. There was plenty of seating and it was indoors away from the heat. The owner and wait staff were incredibly friendly and helped us pick out delicious food. They had plenty of vegetarian options and modifications. If you are in Oaxaca this place is a must try!

Great place in a very 'local' market a bit outside Oaxaca center. The food is delicious and the staff is very nice. It is really nice stop for breakfast or lunch during the visit of this market.

Best breakfast in Mexico! Prices are really cheap and everything was delicious. Our serve was very nice and helped with great suggestions from the menu based on what we were feeling. Got the enfrijoldas with egg and chicken and potato empanadas. The coffee was also really good.

Delicious chilaquiles!! Would highly recommend. Also enjoyed the chorizo empanadas. The local market was a treat.

Traditional food from Oaxaca where the locals enjoy their food. Perfect if you're on a budget.

Excellent, but packed with local and tourists. Kinda hard trying to find an open seat. But once you do the food is great!

We came here for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is situated within the Mercado de la Merced. Breakfast of chocolate/champurrado with pan de yema. The pan de yema was perfectly spiced and sweet and the chocolate was also excellent. Lunch was memelas and tlayudas. Absolutely phenomenal. Would absolutely recommend if you're in the area.

Very few tourists. This market is very genuin to the needs of the people living here.

I ordered a vegetarian tlayuda which was huge. The waiter was very friendly

We had chilaquiles con tomato y huevos which are crunch tortilla chips with a slightly spicy tomato sauce and 2 fried eggs on top. This was AMAZING!

Great place for traditional inexpensive breakfast. They serve several types of atole , chocolate and coffee accompanied by breads. East walk from el centro and zocalo. Don't expect anything fancy.

A massive space in the Mercado de la Merced is telling for how popular this place can get. We had chilaquiles con tomate which was great! A lot of options to choose from.
