This place is AMAZING and not crowded when we were there around 1pm on Tuesday. Incredible food, reasonable prices, speedy service. We had the pozole with chicken, avocado, crema and the “verde” broth which was nothing short of miraculous and the huarache with tasajo which was similarly mind blowing, including the hot sauce. Beautiful fresh papaya juice with lime. Don’t miss this place if you’re serious about food.

We really enjoyed the food at this spot. We weren't hungry enough to have a big meal but ordered a couple of the soups and a salad and found them all to be delicious and made with high quality, fresh ingredients. The restaurant was also peaceful and quiet which we appreciated.

A nice restaurant with a family/home cooking vibe. My wife had pozole with shrimp and I had a huarache with spicy pork. We both really enjoyed our meals. The service was good, there's a little road noise with the open front, but not a big deal. Great place to have Oaxacan food at very reasonable prices.

I stumbled across this place and was so impressed by the great food and service I came back the day after before leaving Oaxaca. I definitely recommend you pay this lovely restaurant a visit!

This has been my favourite restaurant on our travels so far. The food is excellent, the service is efficient, and the atmosphere is relaxed and understated.

Unpretentious and delicious food. In 1 week we went there 3 times. Our favourite dish was the tlalpeno. At 90 pesos a bowl, it’s amazing value for money. I just wish I could bring this place back to the UK to enjoy on a weekly basis.

Fantastic food!

While walking in oaxaca, stop in for some pozole. So good and wonderful. Not sure if there is alot of places in Oaxaca that serve this ? Was so good, that I'm going back again tonight.

Very dependable for many years now. Nice menu with a great variety of traditional Mexican dishes, always flavorful and well prepared. Nothing fancy about the presentation, but the food is well seasoned, portions are ample, service is good and prices are reasonable. Because it's open to a busy street, you can get some traffic noise in the main room, but not bad most of the time. Highly recommended.

Spectacular food spectacular service ridiculously affordable and is great location. Make sure to try the special peanut drink if they have it. All the food tastes, really fresh and homemade there’s a lot of love put into it.

I stayed in Oaxaca City for 3 weeks and I would have lunch at Cabuche a few times per week. I tried several dishes but my favorite are the Quesadillas de Birria. With the meal they give you a little plate with cucumbers, carrots and jicama with a light drizzle of lemon and celery salt. Delicious!

Had the Burrito... and it was the best seasoned chicken I've ever had. Side salad was great as well. So good!

Came by for lunch around 2pm on a Wednesday. There was a 30 minute wait for food but I was seated right away. I got the chapulines (grasshopper) quesadilla and lemonade. SO tasty. Kind of a vinegar flavor (salty and tangy) with the texture of ground beef. Must try! They also offered me some veggies to snack on while I waited. Lovely courtyard seating, too.

Do your self a favour and order the Camarones el pastor taco. It had the most succulent, perfectly cooked prawns I've ever eaten in a taco. They're kind of pricey for just one taco but I had 2 with some pozole and it was more than enough. The rojo pozole with chicken was good but not something I'd crave again. We also had the battered fish taco which was also yummy.

Everything was really tasty, well balanced with flavor and spice, and it’s the best fish taco I’ve had since I’ve been in Mexico! The tlalpeno soup is extremely filling and is loaded with so many vegetables. My hubby got the cochinita pibil and it was perfectly flavored. I was so full by the time my fish taco came out, but it was so good I just crammed it into my mouth and prayed for stomach space. This place is amazing and I wish I had more time in Oaxaca so I could come back!

Perfect place for vegans and non vegans:

My husband and I were craving Mole. So he ate his Enmolada with chicken and I ordered the vegan option. There was another variation with pumpkin. Super delicious Mole: dark, intense, little sweet and with a lot of taste! Absolutely recommend it. Great price/value (90 Pesos vegan, 100 Pesos with chicken).
We also tried one of the many Pozoles (vegan) and it was the best we have tried in our 3 months in Mexico so far.
In our point of view the place looked better than the pictures on Google.
The waitress was very attentive.

This place became our refuge for good and affordable food… nice folks, and calm setting. Great salads, soups, meats, huevos rancheros ,everything we enjoyed…some days we came twice.
Only sad thing is they open at 10a.m ..

The waiter suggested the house stout beer. I accepted his suggestion, and I'm glad I did. That was one of the best stout beers I've had in my life. I ordered three random tacos. They were all delicious.

When I told the waiter it was the best stout I had in my entire life (in my broken Spanish) he happily slapped me on the back. He was genuinely delighted. Which made my experience all the better.

We're only in Oaxaca for two weeks, but I know we'll be back to this place. Great food, great beer. Highly recommended.

Love this place and the fresh, vibrant dishes it serves. And pulque by the glass! I've thought of Cabuche often since my last visit in 2019 and was very glad to see they're still open and still excellent.

I've eaten here several times. The service is always excellent. They offer traditional Mexican food that is delicious. Prices are very fair as well. I'll be back soon.

This is such a cute little gem near Reforma st. especially for veggie/healthy options. I had been on the hunt for green and white pozoles. I had red several times since arriving in Oaxaca and Cabuche serves all 3 and even a veggie pozoles with mushroom.
You can get small or large so I opted for a small and paired it with a small gourmet salad, that had baby greens, avocado, grapefruit and a delicious hibiscus dressing, along with green pozole con pollo, and a delicious glass of apple tepache. All were bursting with flavor and the perfect portion size for lunch. I was initially on the fence by some bad reviews, but I urge ppl to give them another chance. They have a diverse menu so I will definitely be back!

Excellent place to eat and good ambience with exceptional service. Food is delicious and fresh.
