COMALA Bed & Breakfast

Close to all the Centro attractions. Andreas, Cesar, and Alejandro were fantastic with service and information. Andreas speaks good English and loved to talk about Oaxaca and culture. I felt relaxed there. The breakfast was great up on the roof. I had one of the front king room. Those rooms (8,9) are next to street so a bit noisy. I wear earplugs so it didn’t bother me. You ARE right downtown.

Central location and short walking distances to main attractions. Staff went above and beyond when it came to making us feel welcome. Rooms were clean and simple. We had a couple meals on the rooftop terrace and had great views of the fireworks that were taking place in front of the church just a short distance away.

Highly recommend this place! Central location, basic but immaculately clean rooms, beautiful terrace and great service. We had a very late check in and were usually heading out very early but they always went the extra mile to ensure we managed something to eat or take care of additional requirements! Thanks so much for the lovely stay!

Honestly could not fault our 3 night stay here. The staff were beyond hospitable - so helpful and kind. The room was immaculately clean and to a great standard, and the location is ideal, a short walk to everything but not in a noisy location. Our favourite stay during our month in Mexico!! Not to mention the delicious breakfast on their stunning roof terrace which was a perfect way to start your day! Thank you Comala team :)

Fantastic location. Basic standard room. Extremely comfortable bed. Immaculately clean. Great food options. Beautiful rooftop. Staff was the best!! Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Highly recommended for your stay in Oaxaca City.

We had an amazing stay at Comala. We got one of the more dated rooms (because they were fully booked otherwise), but other than that everything was great. The staff were top notch, especially Andres, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was ideal and walkable to anywhere in Oaxaca you’d like to go.

Really friendly staff, very welcoming. Big clean rooms with good amenities. Nice roof top bar and centrally located to be within short walking distance of most of Oaxaca’s best restaurants.

Fantastic staff, well located in the heart of the city, great food and rooftop terrace. We will stay here again. Andres and his team are wonderful.

I had a quick change of plans and booked a last-minute stay here for 1 night. Room on the lower price point was basic but had everything needed, the terrace is a nice bonus. Much less street noise than at other hotels in the city. Staff and owner are extremely friendly and are fun to talk to - I would consider staying here again just to chat with them some more.

The hotel is wonderful. We loved everything except one thing. The traffic noise all night. Perhaps it's because we had a deluxe room with a balcony which faces the street but the traffic ran all night and kept us waking up every so often. We recommend ear plugs. Everything else was fantastic. The bed and pillows are memory foam and were extremely comfortable. The bathroom and decor was modern and clean. They have a Netflix account so you don't need to log in to use it. They are dog friendly which was a big selling point for us. We also enjoyed the roof top which has great views all day and night. The restaurant and bar prices reasonable. The doorman, Alejandro was very warm and accommodating. It was a very pleasant stay but wish they provided ear plugs or recommended we bring them. Perhaps the other rooms are quieter since they don't face the street?

This place is amazing! Alex and Andres and the entire staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and make this a unique and wonderful stay in the city. The location is superb and the rooftop is a beautiful place to rest/read/ eat the wonderful food Comala serves. I cannot speak highly enough of Comala and the amazing people that made this such a wonderful experience in Oaxaca!

We had a wonderful stay here. Only wishing we had stayed more days with Comala.
The space is warm and inviting. The water pressure was the best we had in Oaxaca. The staff all speak English if you need help. They can order a taxi to the airport without having to haggle with a driver.
The included breakfast was presented beautifully and fresh. A true bargain.
Will definitely return.

This place is fantastic: it's close to all the action, and it's safe, clean, and the staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating. The standard room was decent and clean with en suite and a TV with Netflix. Comala has a large roof terrace with views over whole city where breakfast was delicious and served each day. We had one evening meal (fish enchiladas) which was divine. Have no reservations about staying at this awesome place!

This is a nice hostel and good value for money. The people that work here are very friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful. The breakfast is very tasty particularly the comala eggs and the comala omelette. Comala is also in a good location for the Zocala and the main sites of Oaxaca. We loved Oaxaca, its a beautiful place with lovely food and friendly people. We would highly recommend it!

the staff are super friendly and provide a great stay. they are so helpful! they also linked us up to a friend of theirs who took us to the market in tlacolula on a sunday. I highly recommend this, if you are staying in Oaxaca on a Sunday to experience this market! ask them and they will set you up with someone they know. (the prices are fair, you essentially have a private guide and the best part is the food! they know exactly where to go eat! the best places)
the only downside is that our room was facing the main road and was really very loud. i am a light sleeper, but that's my problem. I bought ear plugs :) and this made for a better night.
Things to know ahead of time if you are sensitive to noise: they have movie nights and something else on Thursdays and Fridays or Saturdays I think ? truthfully it wasn't so well advertised and we didn't know about it. Had we known, we would have booked a different room from the start. They have rooms downstairs to the back which are surely much quieter. In any case, we stayed here for 6 nights and had a great stay regardless. Just know that it isnt necessarily "quiet" (relative depending on where you are coming from, we live in Bavaria which is super quiet! things in Munich shut down by 10pm )

I had a great stay at Comala B&B. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and although it is located in the center it is quiet at night. I definitely recommend it.

Had amazing time here... very clean, beautiful roof terrace and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great location as well. Would definitely stay here if return to Oaxaca. Thank you!

Great value, superb hospitality. The staff made us feel truly welcome. Loved having breakfast on the beautiful roof terrace.

I just stopped in for lunch and it was excellent and very inexpensive, full 3 courses (salad with fried potato, fish empanadas with great salsa and guac, slice of cheese cake) with juice and coffee for 110 pesos. Waiter was charming.

Amazing b&b! Very friendly staff, nice rooms and a great terrace. Also the room service was great!
