La Casa Carlota

Maybe the nicest family boutique hotel we have stayed in so far in Mexico.

From the reception by Dulce (she wears very well her name), to the room service by Esmeralda, and general attendance by Antonio, Fede y Sergio… all was just perfect and very friendly.

We felt like we were home.

Our room (#4) was clean, nicely decorated and very functional.
Beauty kit was replenished every day, same with freshly grounded coffee.

The rooftop is a nice and calm place to exercise, relax and/or work.

Breakfast was offered between 08:30-10:30 with a mix of fruits, healthy granola and seeds supplemented by a rotating daily freshly cooked surprise from the local Oaxacan cuisine ; what a treat!!

I absolutely loved this hotel! The location is top tier (truly it is perfectly located within walking distance of most important landmarks) and the staff are very nice and are able to help with anything you need.

Good value stay in a good location 5 mins from saint domingo square.

Breakfast is simple but has a daily hot food option which was a nice touch.

Received a gift of mezcal on the last night which we enjoyed on their rooftop!

We spent a week at this charming B&B, and could not have been happier with our stay. The staff was friendly, helpful and caring. The location was perfect, in a quiet part of town but a short walk to everything we wanted to see. The breakfasts were amazing, with a different hot dish every day. The room was small but had everything we needed. The bed was quite comfortable. We would definitely return to this wonderful place!

We had a great experience at La Casa Carlota. The location was convenient and safe, the room was nice and clean, and the breakfasts were great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Regarding the noise level, as a light sleeper, I did not have any major issues. I would definitely recommend staying there.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Imagine walking out to cobblestone streets with ancient aqueducts. Perfect location for walking to Santo Domingo Church plaza where shops, restaurants and bars surround it. The hotel service is impeccable. Very hospitable service. Very clean. Can’t say enough of the wonderful staff - Dulce, Alejandro, Emmanuel and Hugo. This is a very safe and quiet section of town but walking distance to bars, etc.

Wonderful place to stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and treat you like good friends. Dulce set us up with two different tours that were a lot of fun. Breakfast in the morning is great. Room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in Gloria and it was a large room with a king bed and private bathroom. The decor was beautiful and it has a really nice rooftop patio to enjoy. It’s a close walk to everything.

We’ll definitely stay here again when we return to Oaxaca.

La Casa Carlota is my favorite place to stay in Oaxaca central!! I have stayed at some of the 5 star hotels and I can honestly say that my experience at Casa Carlota was better. Manuel, Hugo, Dulce, and all of the other staff (I didn’t get their names but they were great), made sure our stay was perfect. Also the location is excellent!! I will definitely be back.

Magic place. Team here are wonderful. Location is excellent - a short walk from the main sites of Oaxaca and by all the great places to eat.

This is a very welcoming, comfortable, and accommodating place, just a short walk from the core of Oaxaca's historic center. First and foremost, the staff are amazing--Manuel, Dulce, and Edel. They are great people who work hard and know what hospitality is. In addition, the B&B itself is a cozy place on a relatively quiet street. Casa Carlota doesn't have Hilton-style amenities such as a pool, gym, etc., but the breakfast is very good (toast, yogurt, granola, fruit, and one hot item per day), the rooms are comfortable (no tv, in case that's an issue), and there is a sitting room with a few books and several pieces of interesting furniture. The neighborhood is just north of the center's core, and it is close to restaurants, a couple of city parks, a couple of markets, and other venues. LGBTQ+ friendly. I highly recommend.

Desde nuestra llegada el equipo de Casa Carlota fue muy amable y servicial. El lugar cuenta con un estilo muy oaxaqueño, un comedor muy agradable y las habitaciones con todas las comodidades y buen café. Una terraza con vista a la ciudad y un entorno muy tranquilo.

Nos encanto el Lugar, personal super amable, el desayuno sencillo pero delicioso, no hay clima en las habitaciones pero estan muy comodas, funcionales y bonitas, todo super limpio que es lo que ame del lugar! La terraza encantadora
