Beautiful location, the view of Oaxaca is stunning! To get to the place you need to climb the stairs and it can be a bit tiring but is totally worth it!
That’s why is called “Terraza Cielito Lindo” ☺

The two women running the place are awesome! Both very kind and helpful!
There is breakfast every morning that includes cakes and fresh fruit with coffee or tea!

The room was perfectly clean and the bed extremely comfortable!

Great place to stay if you want to be away from the chaos of central Oaxaca, but still within walking distance. While it is more of a hostel type setting with a communal terrace, the rooms are small, quaint, clean, and private. The view from the terrace is stunning and is a good place to connect with other travelers. The hostess is a very lovely woman who is extremely accommodating. Whether it’s providing coffee, breakfast, dinner, or even taking care of your laundry - she’s got you covered. The location may be a bit difficult to find at first, just look for the metal gate marked 518 and head straight up the stairs to the blue building on your left.

The place is situated a little outside of the centre but within walking distance (5-7 minutes), but oh my - for that you get an exceptional view! Everything is clean, the dogs are cute and the hosts are very lovely people helping you with everything you'd need; be it coffee, breakfast, recommendations and so forth. They even upgraded our room to a bigger one for free. Also the dogs are adorable.

A comfortable room for an affordable price! The location is a great distance from the centro and provides access to many great downtown activities. There's a store right down the street (a few actually) which is quite convenient. There's a bunch of stairs when you get to the gate at street level so be prepared to burn some calories 🔥 the view when you finally do get to the top is completely worth it though. Day or night. There's a gym in the common area which is open and shared with the other guests. The drainage in the shower was a little slow but eventually went down and the hot water lasted so no complaints there.

I have stayed here for nearly two months whilst studying Spanish at a local school, so I can give a thorough review of Terraza Cielito. I love the location of the accommodation. It's a short walk into town, my school, a beautiful coffee shop, yet it's out of the city and peaceful at night. It's also next to a stunning restaurant el Humito and a great little torta and tlayuda place. There's a small little shop directly across the road for essentials, water ect.

This place has been like a home for me. Maggi serves fruit, bread and coffee every morning to me (we usually have a conversation in Spanish of which I can keep up with about 50% but pretend I understand everything), before I walk off to class. My room has it's own private bathroom and is cleaned once a week, with new sheets, towels ect. I regularly cook upstairs on the Terraza after buying fresh fish and prawns in the market, as it's almost my favourite thing to do in Oaxaca because it's so peaceful and the view is stunning.

Unfortunately there seems to be a common theme of people coming for one night and writing a poor review. Those people, seemingly think this place is a high end hotel, and demand everything under the sun. They usually also put no effort into meeting others which is a shame. This is a place to be flexible, and focus on the important things in life.

As with everything in life, you get out what you put in and the more you engage and get to know the beautiful family, Maggi and the dogs (kaida, and Bongo) the more they will give you. (I've been lucky enough to watch Jazz one of the family members here sing multiple times in Oaxaca, go to baseball games with them and visit different restaurants together)

I would highly recommend this place, especially those wanting to learn Spanish, because you'll be surrounded by locals in the area and the family. It's also the best long term value that I've been able to find in Oaxaca. I would encourage you to message Jefzi/the family on whatsapp and find a suitable plan rather than using booking platforms. That way they can help you find what you want, and avoid the fees taken by the organisations, so the family can receive more.

The best place in Oaxaca. Gabby the owner, Pablo her son and the whole staff are very nice and welcoming. We felt at home. We had everything we need and the place is clean and beautiful.

Such an amazing and magical place. The best view of Oaxaca and the family in charge is lovely. I highly recommend staying here!

Nos quedamos tres noches en el hotel y nos encantó, la habitación es bastante cómoda, el desayuno muy rico, y las vistas increíbles. La atención de Maggy y todo el personal fue excelente, repetiremos sin dudarlo

Ame este lugar! La vista es inigualable... Pequeños detalles... Hay que subir algunas escalones para llegar, pero llegas al centro fácilmente caminando, es un poco ruidoso por las mañanas (7am ya hay actividad) pero el personal es muy amable!

El mejor lugar para hospedarse en Oaxaca. ¡Estuve ahí por casi un mes y no quería irme! ¡Habitaciones cómodas, la mejor ubicación cerca del centro, desayuno incluido pero sobre todo la atención! Maggui es la mejor persona que he conocido, siempre ayudándote y al pendiente de ti. ¡Recomiendo muchísimo La terraza, siempre que regrese a Oaxaca estaré por ahí! Gracias por todo, los llevo en mi corazón a todos :)

Magnífico lugar con vistas a la preciosa Oaxaca desde las alturas para alojarse y sentirse como en casa! Trato y cuidado del personal increíble y desayunos riquísimos. Muy bien equipado y cerca del centro histórico además. Gracias Gaby, Maggie y familia!!! ✨✨✨

La habitación es como la de una casa normal, no es una habitación de hotel!!.
Servicio de internet bueno , gente amable y el lugar es limpio. Un pequeño detalle con los animales ,pero es gusto de los dueños.
Recomendable 100%. Para los que buscan algo más tranquilo ,lejos de la ciudad.

Lindo lugar para poder hospedarse con una vista de envidia, cuenta con habitaciones amplias con camas muy cómodas, realmente te hará sentir como si estuvieras en casa, en la terraza encontrarás una área de cocina como una isla equipada con estufa, un frigobar, una gym al aire libre para ejercitarse, cabe destacar que la vista en la noche se ve excelente, Se puede ver toda la ciudad de Oaxaca, también este lugar esta ubicada cercas de la iglesia de santo domingo, cercas de esta zona no dejes de dejar pasar de tomar la bebida típica de la regios el tejate echa con cacao que esta deliciosa, y por cierto no olvides visitar el jardín etnobotanico de Oaxaca te fascinara si eres fin de las cactáceas. Y para deleitar tu paladar no olvides visitar Oaxaca en una taza que se encuentra en la misma zona, sugiriendo un reto prueba el chocolate en agua y otro con leche y decide cual te gusta más.

Delicioso desayuno con gran vista a Oaxaca! Tienen pan Oaxaqueño y la atención muy muy buena!

Bonito Lugar, Bien ubicado,cuartos confortables,lo Unico mejorable es que El estacionamiento es en la Calle y que son muchas escaleras para subir

El lugar muy cómodo las camas uff descansas muy bien pero hay dos cosas que hacen del lugar el mejor la terraza y la atención de Magüi además cuenta con mini gym y desayuno incluido la vista desde la terraza a todo el día y en la noche ufff 100% recomendado
