Dr. Angel Gómez Reyes

If you need dental work of any kind in Oaxaca City call or visit Dr. Gomez. We needed cleanings and my husband had a serious condition where a tooth had to be removed from behind his bridge. The cleanings were the best we ever had and the operation my husband had was so successful and no pain. Dr. Gomez and his wife,who is also a dentist, are two of the best we ever had. We are from NJ and will definitely make the trip back to Dr. Gomez if need be. What dentists charge in NJ for the same procedures are outrageous. Immaculately clean office, perfect English and a great location just a minute from the Zocalo.

Dr Angel Gomez is a very good dentist. I am from Alberta Canada. Found him on the internet as an English speaking Mexican. I emailed him an got quick response and set an apt. When I would be there. He is very polite friendly and speaks English well. I had 3 teeth that needed crowns. Dr. Gomez froze my mouth easily and painlessly. Ground my teeth prep and temps in 3 hours. Made an appointment for 10 days later. I accidentally showed up a day earlier than expected. He invited me in and my 3 new crowns were done in an hour. I was embarrassed when I realized I was a day early. The office is clean and up to date. Has Air conditioning. The gentle 70s-80s background play list. He has 2 masters in crowns and gum disease and his wife dental partner has a master in root canal. I was impressed. The 3 crowns cost me less than half of what it would cost me in Canada with the English receipt Dr Gomez gave me so I could submit an insurance claim back home. Was also impressed to find out he pays it forward by training up coming dental students. I recommend if you’re in Oaxaca city and want dental work done to contact his office.

I want to highly recommend Dr. Angel Gomez for dental work in Oaxaca, Mexico. I cracked a molar mid flight on my way to Mexico and felt immediate anxiety about having to have emergency dental work in a foreign country. After seeing a positive TripAdvisor review (albeit dated) for Dr. Gomez (who had trained at University of Michigan), I emailed him upon arrival and heard back from him the next morning offering me an appointment just a couple hours later. Dr. Gomez was welcoming and immediately put me at ease with his lovely manner, professional demeanor and great sense of humor. Dr. Gomez determined I needed a crown and worked with my schedule to have it ready for me later in the week before I flew home. I felt no pain with the procedure and his prices were fair and reasonable (much more affordable than in the US. If I ever need a lot of dental work, I won't hesitate to book a trip to Oaxaca (an absolutely fabulous destination) to have Dr. Gomez do all my work - he's a winner!!

I came for binding issue between my veneer and my natural tooth, but I stayed for his profound music taste. I'm not kidding, he plays the best jazz music while you're in the chair. One forgets all dental fears while in his office. Dr. Angel Gomez Reyes is a kind, personable dentist. I expressed my fears and tooth pain, and he was gentle, understanding and his demeanor helped put my anxieties at ease. A great dentist, especially if you are an english speaker experiencing a dental emergency while abroad.

I unexpectedly developed a tooth infection while visiting Oaxaca. Thank goodness I found Dr Gomez and Dra Maria. Dr Gomez diagnosed the problem, and the two of them together completed a very complicated root canal over the course of three visits. They were kind, patient, and most importantly, thorough, despite the challenges of my case. The whole process was pain-free.

The cost was less than half of what I would have paid in the U.S., even with my excellent dental insurance.

I would highly recommend Dr Gomez to anyone needing dental care in Oaxaca.

Dr. Gomez is a great dentist for expats or travelers that are visiting Oaxaca. My bridge had broken when I was traveling, and he responded right away and was able to see me ASAP. I had a couple more procedures while I was there over the course of a few months, and he was always very accommodating. He also speaks perfect english, which is very helpful. Highly recommend!

This is our second year of crown work and a new bridge. Quick, professional service, great communication in English and excellent skills. When was the last time your dentist answered a text?

Dr. Gomez is as good or better than my dentist in Portland, Oregon. He speaks English. His work is excellent and he is trained extensively in dentistry and implants. He is hygienic, his assistants are attentive and kind. I love him and his office. I have no hesitation to recommend him. His work is not as costly as my dentist in the USA, but most importantly his work is very good. He will not remove amalgam fillings unless they are failing. My daughter who works for a dentist told me this is the sign of a good practitioner. He will not do unnecessary work.

Brilliant dentist. Came in with tooth pain that turned out to be a very serious issue. Operated on me the same day, could go home after and I recovered 2-3 weeks. Cost was far more reasonable than a similar service in my home country. Provided me with receipts so I can claim on holiday insurance. Very good dentist with wry sense of humour, I would fly just to see him!! Thank you!!!

I made an appointment with Dr. Gómez when in the U.S.; I needed to have dental work done, and wanted to go back to Oaxaca to do so. Dr. Gómez out-diagnosed my U.S. dentist by a mile, and gave profoundly terrific care. His staff is marvelous; his English is helpful (to me at least) and good; the price is reasonable. I was impressed by the entire experience -- the dental work; the positive energy and cooperation among various other staff members; and by the communication and care I received. Days after my visit I still received polite inquiries about how I was doing. I received a free appointment so he could check on my progress. Oaxaca is far from where I live now, but I'll be going back regularly to Dr. Gómez Reyes and will be recommending him to my U.S. and Oaxaca friends and acquaintances.

I recently had a substantial amount of work done by Dr. Gómez. The work included crowns and bridges. The quality of the care exceeded anything I have had in the U.S. Dr. Gómez's attention to detail, and his focus on making sure everything fits exactly right is impressive. I highly recommend him.

There is a second dentist in the office who did some of the work on me. I found her to be equally competent and pleasant.

I also had two complicated root canals on molars done in his office. The dentist who did the root canals was also fantastic. She was careful and her technique was far less uncomfortable than root canals I've had in the U.S. Very impressive work!

I became acquainted with Dr Gomez's work through recommendations in ex-pat blogs. Consequently I came to Oaxaca and had 5 crowns, a root canal and two fillings. The results could not have been better anywhere. Dr Gomez and his staff are absolute top notch and I will be back next year for an implant. I would recommend his work to anyone. Several years back I found Dr Angel Gomez name listed as a recommended doctor on the Canadian Consulate site. I wanted to begin the process of replacing my crumbling uppers with implants. two years on I am more than happy with his work and now consider the doctor my regular dentist. He holds a master's from U of Michigan, He speaks English well- and I would add that he is a thoughtful and considerate human being.
It doesn't hurt that he is located in Oaxaca, always a great place to visit.

I, Steven Glorioso, was a patient of Dr. Gomez in February, 2015. I cracked a lower wisdom tooth.
He was recommended by an ex-pat at the Oaxaca Lending Library.
In short,he was terrific. Trained at the University of Michigan, Dr. Gomez speaks perfect English.
He and his staff were very professional. My case was difficult as he had to separate the tooth before pulling it as a nerve had grown under the tooth in front of it.
It took treatment over three weeks---first to remove the small crack of the tooth, then provide temporary relief as I had to leave Oaxaca the next day. The following week he pulled the tooth and stitched the gum. A week later he removed the stitching.
Everything worked out just fine. Two weeks later I returned to my home in the U. S. My family dentist during a visit said Dr. Gomez did an excellent job.

Dr. Gomez has been my dentist for the last two years. I've had root canals, posts and crowns and other remedial work done on a number of teeth. I'm very happy with the work he and his specialists have performed. I will continue to use Dr. Gomez's services in the future.

I recently, March of 2016, had dental work done by Dr. Gomez while I was in Oaxaca and I was immensely pleased with both the final results and the whole process. I needed a three tooth bridge. Dr. Gomez was willing to work around my somewhat limited time constrictions. On my first visit, after a thorough examination of the over-all state of my teeth, he began to work and worked for a number of hours so that the rest of the necessary work could be completed before i had to leave. From the outset i was impressed with a number of things. On a personal level he is friendly, casual, relaxed, easy to talk to, very informed and informative, wanting me to know exactly what my options were, what he recommended and why. Given my limited Spanish, his perfect command of English was very helpful. On a professional level, i was continually impressed by his meticulous patience, carefully making minor adjustment, testing, re-adjusting, testing again and again until everything was just right. The final result was a bridge that fit perfectly and, since the day it was put in place, felt just like my natural teeth with no initial "getting-used-to" period at all. I plan to go back to him in the future to deal with other dental needs. I have friends here in the states who are planning to do so also since the savings on cost more than covers the price of the trip. I couldnt recommend him more highly.

We discovered Dr. Gomez in the Oaxacan Times. He redid our entire existing
teeth with posts, root canals, crowns and bridge work, etc. It is wonderful that
all the work was done in one office. Also, the fittings were done on site and adjusted as needed to perfection. This was a real plus. We are unaware of any other dental surgeon who operates in such an efficient manner.

Dr. Gomez deserves a 5.0 rating in every area of expertise. He is a perfectionist in his craft.

Oaxaca, we first went to Dr Gomez several years ago.
He has been better than our (expensive) US dentists,
and we now defer our dental work until our annual returns to Oaxaca.
