They specialize in mezcal and their cocktails are delicious - they are not stingy with the alcohol they put in their drinks. German was our mixologist and he is awesome, friendly, and very talented at what he does - he’s created a lot of the drinks on the menu and they’re all very well balanced. Abraham also served us and taught us all about mezcal and HOW to drink it and he grew our appreciation and knowledge of it. I would say this is one of the best bars in the city - generous cocktail portions and aesthetic place. Abraham also provided us mezcal tastings!

Fabulous! The staff are all very attentive and friendly. It's a small place, but don't be fooled by its size. The mixologist here is an artist and very passionate about his craft. The drinks are artfully decorated with a variety of botanicals and look so good that it makes you feel guilty about disturbing the presentation. This place definitely deserves a spot on North America's top 50!

On my first night visiting, we found this bar while wandering around Oaxaca. It looked beautiful inside with all the different art and the cocktails we ordered were also beautiful, refreshing and delicious. They serve Oaxacan spicy peanuts with the drinks too. Highly recommend a visit here if you like cocktails and pretty decor.

Found this drink thanks to TAYSTR app, which has the best rated drinks and dishes around Oaxaca. Couldn't ask for anything more. Every drink here is carefully crafted and they have fresh herbs and fruit for all of their drinks. You can't go wrong. The sandwiches also look really good.

Maybe some of the most beautiful/colorful drinks. My drink had a rainbow of fresh fruit. And yummy too!

We walked in randomly and had the most wonderful experience. We had a mezcal tasting but unfortunately we don’t speak Spanish, but our server wrote in google translate so that we could understand. That was so incredibly nice of him as the tasting was super informative. It was such an educational, fun experience. Additionally, all of the mezcals that we tasted were so delicious.

Oaxaca meets New York. A cool and beautiful Mescal bar - lots of art and wonderfully lighted. Very knowledgable staff and great service. Great music without being overly loud. Add to your list for your Mescal outing.

A beautiful mezcal bar with a broad selection of mezcals. Staff is very attentive, knowledgeable and nice! Prices are very good too. Great place to get acquainted with the various types of mezcal.

Really great drinks and not busy or crowded despite being a holiday. The staff is helpful and attentive, they will recommend a drink for every taste.

We came here the 1st night of our oaxaca vacation and our last night for a cocktail with my husband . Great care and detail to our cocktails and the best guacamole and sandwich we shared together . The bartender and the other nice man were professional and nice music in the background while we were enjoying our time here

Amazing cocktails and excellent staff!

It is crazy to me that this bar + snacks location isn’t listed on any of the top 10 lists for Oaxaca. Without any shadow of a doubt it should be. We began with a round of cocktails & snacks, thinking we would move on to another location afterwards for dinner. Nope. The snacks arrived, and they were very generously portioned and… incredible. We have been traveling in Mexico for the past six weeks, going to local legends, popular hideouts and fancy restaurants — and the snacks at this restaurant were by far the freshest and most delicious dishes we have had by far. Tostadas de atún, guacamole, sándwiches de jamón serrano and the BLT… we just kept ordering and being delighted by what arrived. Truly spectacular and 100% recommendable. Que disfrutes!

Very knowledgeable about mezcal and curated drinks

Great Place to Visit and Learn even though I don't drink. The tour was given in fluent English as well as Spanish, and the samples were generous (for those who partake).

Drinks were amazing! But watch out, Señor del Rayo is spicy, but still really good especially if you're into spicy drinks!
