Cortijo La Mezcaleria

Stopped in here to do a tasting in January 2021 and loved the relaxed but very expertly done presentation. Great small batch mezcals. Plan on bringing my sons in 2022. Will update with new pics then.

June 2023: enjoyed our relaxing time learning more about the Mezcal world in Oaxaca. Small Batch is still so much fun to experience.

Our time here was an absolute treat! Great service and even better mezcal. We tasted a variety of artisanal mezcals and the host shared a ton of information. Couldn’t have asked for a better tasting experience!

Very attentive and friendly staff who is knowledgeable about the Mezcal that the house specializes in. It was our first time mezcal tasting and the bartender walked us through some of the basics, kiss the mezcal, don’t mix it with anything but water, and drink it slowly. We did the basic tasting which cost 180MXN, and got three 1 oz. shots of mezcal. The bar is very cute, decorated with clean lines and pictures of the family who made the mezcal. Overall loved the experience of sharing time with friends while tasting some great mezcal. Even my husband who typically doesn’t like mezcal enjoyed the experience and actually liked the mezcal!

Great variety of mezcal, and a friendly staff. They really know what they are talking about and gonna help you to have a good "mezcal" experience. Also, they do accept payment in cards. A little bit expensive, but worth it. A place to go with your friends.

Fun degustaciones. Bartender very knowledgeable in explaining the varieties and the blends, what they were made with and the flavors. It's hard to recommend places here because there are so many awesome little mezcalerias with local amazingness and this is definitely among my favorite so far!

This has to be the best mezcaleria on the planet! Abbey (sp?) is extremely knowledgeable and, apart from the excellent mezcal she offers up for tasting, we just really enjoy chatting with her.

I got sick in my 1st few days in Oaxaca and my doctor recommended this place. No joke, some great mezcals. The doctors orders were right on. Adrian was the best and took care of us here. I would not miss it.

On this trip I did tastings in 8 tasting rooms and this one was by far our favorite. We kept coming back bc the mezcal expert (for back of a better word) was so knowledgeable and FUN!!!

Their house mezcals are great and they have a selection of artisan and ancestral mezcals from other small distilleries.

This is THE place to learn about Mezcal. You will have fun tasting Mezcal and learning about the culture and the importance of Mezcal and Oaxaca. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

We loved this spot! It's cozy and a bit more quiet than the other mezcal bars we tried in Oaxaca. The service was excellent! We even got to chat with the owner who brought a tasting of his family's own brand. Highly recommend!

Honestly, I wished I would have skipped the mezcal tours outside of the city and just spent more time here. If you don't know where to start with mezcal, START HERE!!! You will have a great experience and the bar and people that frequent it are super nice. 👌🏾

Gorgeous space with superb mezcal - Isaac the barman was super helpful

My girlfriend and I arent big mezcal drinkers but wanted to taste a variety while we were in Oaxaca. This place was great. We got a flight which was perfect. The bar tender spoke English and gave us a little lesson in mezcal. The atmosphere was totally chill and quiet, but fun.

An excellent mezcal tasting experience, with a diverse selection of ancesrltral mezcal, along with other artisinal gems. Ask for Gabi at the bar. She can provide you with a great educational experience!

Amazing experience trying different Mezcals. Juan Carlos was great and very knowledgeable host. He sat at our table and explained the history of Mezcal, regions, differences among agaves, and so on. Super patient with all our questions. A must to visit. No reservation required and friendly environment with nice live music.
