I stayed a few nights at the newly remodeled Villa Ganz and absolutely fell in love with the property and the staff. The aroma in the hotel was divine! My room was on the ground floor that faces the courtyard. The room hasn't been remodeled and had a gorgeous tub and bathroom, I'm hoping they keep the old charm and don't change a thing. Breakfast is served in their gorgeous courtyard and was delicious. The staff really made my stay enjoyable and I felt as if it was my home away from home. I will be staying here on my next visit to Guadalajara.

Beautiful hotel and an amazing staff. Armando was an excellent host and the rest of the staff as well. The room I was in had a beautiful full size glass window with a balcony view. Even during their renovation I still enjoyed my stay. Comfortable bed. Thanks Armando and please say hi to Bubba.

My wife and I were there from January 17 to February 5th.
We are from San Jose Del Cabo. The hotel was under renovation construction at the time.
We could see through the mess of construction, to envision how much more beautiful, clean and enjoyable they were making it. The ambience, safety, cleanliness and charm of the hotel was still there. We could see huge improvements in just the short time we were there.
Armando, Cecile and all of the staff were exceptionally, helpful, wonderful and charming in their own right. We will certainly visit Villa Ganz again.
Guadalajara was a great place to visit the history is extraordinary and the people are friendly.
Thank you to all for a great experience.

Villa Ganz is a beautiful step back into a more elegant, gracious and tranquil time with every aspect of our stay worthy of 5 stars. The interior and exterior decor complement the grand dame villa that she is, and the reception staff including Oscar, Armando, Paulina, and Bubba the cat welcome all with a warm hospitality and grace that is rare. I commend all of the staff, Mr. Klix with whom I had a lovely conversation, and especially Paulina. As we rushed out to catch our plane, we left our passports. A quick call to Paulina and she calmly dispatched them to us as promised through Fed Ex. What a lovely experience! Thank you Villa Ganz Team; we look forward to seeing you next year!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Ganz. The rooms and surrounds were beautiful but it is the staff that make the place so special. We spoke very little Spanish but the staff were very accomodating and welcoming. The neighbourhood is very safe and there are lots of dining options. The Villa offers a great daily breakfast with plenty of options and you can also order great cocktails to enjoy in the peaceful courtyard.

What a great little place.

Location is ideal - just 2 short blocks from a large selection of bars and restaurants, yet it feels like a world away. This is like visiting someone's rather grand house. The welcome is genuine and although its a small building, there is always someone around to help with suggestions or just bring a cocktail to the lovely garden area.

Room was large and comfortable and the overall feel was a bohemian house.

The reception staff were particularly helpful - we had a couple of (non-hotel) related issues when we were there and they went over and above to help us solve them.

Recommend this place without hesitation

Our room #15 was very unique on the second floor with a hammock and small balcony. Service was top notch with the staff always being attentive. Location was close to restaurants and bars in the area. And an easy Uber to main tourist areas. I highly recommend over a normal chain hotel

Such a fantastic little hotel. The staff are all incredibly kind, hardworking and accommodating, the grounds are beautiful and well kept, the cat is a sweetheart. The garden is great if you also love birdwatching. It's a little slice of peace in a busy city.

Both times we had breakfast here it was delicious and quick service. We also did the 6 course tasting menu- I recommend it. an unforgettable experience for sure!

A few of the staff members also spoke English well. They were all very welcoming :)

Five stars across the board for this place! It is probably one of my favorite hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. The service was top notch, they make you feel like family. My mom and I only ate their breakfast one morning but it was delicious. Their decor and style was beautiful - loved the high ceilings. Their cat bubba was adorable and very friendly too. Their beds were incredibly comfortable and the location was fantastic, very central. It’s in colonia americana which is one of the trendier neighborhoods in Guadalajara, lots of cute cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Shout out to Armando and Oscar for being so helpful and kind!

Absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel. Perfect for wedding parties. Location is excellent. Service is upscale. Went only for drinks (had the classic margarita, it was delicious!) but would gladly book a room here.
Lovely picture of a random couple having a romantic date at the hotel's restaurant.
Congratulations to the staff for a job well done.

The minute you walk inside this magical place they make you feel welcome as if they know you forever. The atmosphere of Villa Ganz is unique, peaceful and very safe. The entire staff is super friendly and I could say that they love what they do (which is a rarity these days). They know the area very well so make sure to get recommendations from them. Finally don't leave this place without talking to Hugo about baseball.

A gorgeous "boutique" hotel( it really exemplifies the word well), everything about the hotel is charming, rustic and beautiful.

The rooms are large with high ceilings and really show luxury and quality, like old and beautiful Spanish Hacienda houses.

The service is exemplary with the staff well trained and attentive, and so welcoming.

But my favourite thing about the hotel is the decor and the aesthetic. Villa Ganz is so charming and quaint - with such a historical touch(I believe it's an old building), and the decor looking like so much of a colonial mansion/museum. The garden is such a lovely place to sit with a little fountain, and space to have quiet and especially romantic dinners (I believe they also organise "proposals" or "honeymoons here").

The detail in all the rooms with the interiors and decor is so amazing and it makes sense because the owner used to be a fashion consultant, and so would naturally have a great eye for art and taste.

Practically - it is also on a main street, very very walkable to the expiatorio (gorgeous gothic church) and a taxi ride away from Guadalajara cathedral. There are many art museums, restaurants around .. and this neighbourhood (Colonia Americana) was actually named one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the world! (Lots of hidden gems you can discover as you walk around)

Definitely definitely would recommend staying for a weekend here at least once in this hotel because it will give you an experience like you are transported to a more sophisticated, Hacienda -like, regal and luxurious experience.

Beautiful older hotel in lovely central neighborhood. I recommend you stay during the week or request room away from their garden as they have lots of loud events on weekends that may keep you up. Buba the cat stole the show and our hearts and made it a very enjoyable stay.

We do a lot of traveling, and this is one of the best places we've ever stayed. Felt like a home. Service couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The neighborhood is fun. Rooms were comfortable, quiet, very beautifully decorated. The garden is something special. Would come back to stay again.

This is by far my most favorite place to stay, ever. The home is beautiful and quiet, service impeccable. We have stayed here many times and the staff always remembers us and makes us feel like family. In walking distance to restaurants and Starbucks and easy to catch a cab to explore. Great morning breakfast with fresh fruit and coffee and the best beans. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Guadalajara.

We just spent three nights at Villa Ganz and loved it. We had their two "best" rooms and both couples loved their room. The location is fantastic and the staff could not be more professional and kind. Many of them speak English which is the exception in Guadalajara. We booked their in house chef John Bertrand/Aureo for a dinner in the garden and it was the highlight of our trip.

We were fortunate to book our short stay in Guadalajara at Villa Ganz Boutique Hotel. We called in our reservation to request a suite with a tub and a nice view. The only suite available was brand new, it has not been named yet (Room 27). Because we were informed that this room was new to the hotel, we could not complain. In fact, we were delighted that this room is located towards the back of the hotel in a very private area. We had our own private terrace with a beautiful fountain and seating area. There is a lonely fish living in the fountain! The bonus for us, we were impressed with the quiet area near our suite. Another thing to mention, their A/C worked unlike our previous stays in another famous hotel in the historic center.

During reservations, we were informed that there would be a special Morracan dinner with a French chef that would run late into the night on Saturday. We were amazed that we could not hear the music from our room during this special dinner. If we had opted to stay in our room, we would not have been bothered by any noise at all.

The hotel may not have a large number of rooms but it is very charming, clean, and safe. They offer continental breakfast but you can always order from the menu with a fee which my husband and I did each morning. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. They offer fresh juices, as well.

We were delighted that the reception staff spoke English very well, although we do speak Spanish. Everyone is very friendly, professional, and polite. We have found our new favorite hotel to stay while visiting Guadalajara. We mostly appreciate the communication and clear expectations set during our reservations so that we were well informed that we would be staying in a new room and they would be hosting a special event during our stay. Sally, the manager, was incredibly gracious to us while we stayed in the hotel. Although she was extremely busy with her upcoming event, she always took the time to exchange pleasantries with us.

This hotel is close to the downtown area and near restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. It is near Chapultepec avenue where on weekends there are people walking, riding bicycles, or on skates and there are vendors selling wares and folkloric dancers and musicians performing.

Whether you stay for business or fun, I highly recommend the Villa Ganz Boutique Hotel. We are looking forward to planning our next trip to Guadalajara and plan to stay at Villa Ganz again!

This is the place. I can't imagine a nicer boutique hotel. It is cozy, elegant, and the service is impeccable. We had an 8 course tasting meal that was honestly better than the meal we had at Quintonil and twice as romantic. At $80 a night this is absolutely a no brainer.
