What an amazing experience staying in this beautiful hotel. We were fascinated with the architecture and overall ambiance of this historical gem. The staff were amazing and very professional. The rooms were clean and roomy- the beds were very hard but that would be our only minor complaint. The location is perfect for enjoying the wonderful historical area.

Wonderful experience, very authentic, over 300 years old hotel! The team was extremely professional, staff were always ready to help and gave great recommendations on restaurants. Definitely recommend and look forward to come back.

Not sure if my previous review posted so I will repost! I had a great experience at this hotel. The location is perfect! The first night my mom and I got there, we got there late so they had to take the last room which had no AC only fans that you could plug in. We were not satisfied with that since it was very hot the next day so we went downstairs to ask if we could move into a room with AC. They had no problem accommodating our needs which made me extremely happy! Their receptionist (Hector) is 10 out of 10 with customer service as well as their bartender (Francisco) who were very friendly and helpful during our stay.. their breakfast buffet is amazing, with much variety of food and natural juices! I will be staying in this hotel again for sure, its worth every penny spent! Also, very reasonable prices! I loved it.. 💯🤗

We stayed in one of the penthouse rooms. Fabulous views from the rooftop ( watched the Christmas time fire works from here). For 3-5 people, these rooms have lots of space and kitchens. The dumb bell elevator is fun to ride, and location is perfect for exploring area.

Great value. Classic hotel. Excellent service. It's not a five star hotel so don't expect every modern amenity. Great ambience. Personally, I would book directly with the hotel rather than with a third party and get a room with a better view than I had.

I loved this hotel. I had so many friends ask me what hotel it was when I'd post photos. It was old and beautiful. The elevator was cool and the room was very large. It was very refreshing from our stay the nights before at Doubletree down the street. There was a large window with a TINY balcony. Literally just for your feet but it was soo cool to look outside. It even had a small room when you walked in with a couch. Then it leads you to a next room with the beds.(4 people room). They had a huge fan on the top and 2 other ones to plug in but we were fine during the night. My mom liked the tiny room with the couch, had a break from all of us for a bit . The bellhop was super friendly and explained some safety tips, the front desk staff also talked to us a bit before going up to our room. The price was great and felt safe. There is a terrace if you want to go up there. The patio furniture is super outdated and old but we took some dinner up there and had a nice Thanksgiving. The view was nice enough and we noticed some rooms up there that had a jacuzzi. Would have loved to check those out. When you go in and out of the elevator you have make sure to close both doors. This is definitely going to be the hotel I book next time. It is centrally located and super close to the pink Guadalajara sign that everyone likes to take photos at but also close to many other places. Also, easy to get picked up and dropped off. Some hotels are pedestrian only entrances and a hassle to get your uber/taxi. This place isn't as crowded in the front and cars are able to pull off to the side of the hotel to quickly drop you off and pick you up . Highly recommend.

Clean and simple rooms. An amazing view of Central Guadalajara on the top floor. The oldest operating hotel in Guadalajara with authentic and true Mexican charm. We make it a point to stay at least 1 night per year!

Originally, we were only going to stay one night. The place was very affordable and the staff both knowledgeable and nice. We had mariachi that night and some great mixed drinks at the bar. Rooms were on the small side but very clean. We booked an extra night there for the tours. Whenever we needed directions or where to get anything, they were more reliable than Google! When we did end up leaving they order a taxi for us as well.

Hotel built around 1610. Great location for historical attractions. Churches built in 1600's. Food and drinks everywhere.
Hotel was set for Charles Bronson movie "Evil Men Do" 1983.

I can be boujie at times… but I like to stay at this hotel because I like the antique-ness to it. And it’s cheap. (So it’s NOT boujie) And it’s in a great location. We walked to many places. And also traveling with Uber we weren’t too far away from many things.

The staff is friendly. They’re clean.

Although I will say the bathroom has a strong smell sometimes. And the lightings need to be fixed up in the ceiling.

But overall. I like it.

This place I stayed has no a/c but the nights are fresh enough that you sleep comfortably. I come from Texas with hot humid summers. I need a/c 24/7… and being here in Guadalajara. I don’t complain about the weather. It’s beautiful.

I love this place, specifically the rooftop bc of the view. You can enjoy some time alone and quiet. Place is iconic and it is quite preserved. Service is good but could always be better. Enjoy GDL!

The hotel is antique and gives you the history of Guadalajara.
It is a great place to stay, yes some rooms t have only ceiling fans but open doors and windows and you'll be alright.
Or upgrade to suite on third floor and you will have refrigerated air plus the views are to die for.
The staff was awesome... Very friendly..

She's an oldie but a goodie. You can tell it was renovated almost 40 years ago, and could use another renovation. But the fact that it's a 400 year old hotel makes it very accenting looking. I highly recommend staying here The Price is Right the location is perfect.

I stayed at the Hotel Frances & it was clean, comfortable and was in the middle of downtown which made it convenient to travel to all the relics Guadalajara has to offer. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
