Hotel Don Nino

I have now stayed twice at Hotel Don Nino, and both have been excellent experiences. For the cost, the hotel is safe, clean, and well located. The hotel is located across the street from El Llano, a lively plaza that is always bustling with daily life, great food vendors, and in general, a lovely place to people watch. There is a pharmacy across the plaza, an OXXO (convenience store) down the street, and a couple of banks nearby if you need them. You aren't smack dab in the middle of the historical section of Oaxaca, but it's a quick 5-7 minute walk away, which is quite nice since it is lively at night. You'll find Hotel Don Nino a little more tranquil. Taxis are consistently driving past, and the hotel will organize a tour for you. I know pizza may not be on our mind when you're in Oaxaca, but I highly recommend the pizza t the restaurant downstairs. It is so freaking delicious.

Really enjoyed our stay here, so much so that it was an easy go-to when we found ourselves passing through Oaxaca the next week. We stayed in the 8 person dorm, and were comfortable. The bathrooms were the cleanest hostel bathrooms I've ever met, and the breakfast was great. We didn't do much hanging out here, but the hostel offers tours, has a rooftop terrace, kitchen, and lots of space for hanging out if that's what you're looking for! A big plus for us was the convenient proximity of the ADO bus station and Airport Taxis from the hostel for 150 pesos.

I like Don Nino because it is quiet, clean and affordable.

Stayed here one night as part of our honeymoon trip. It was exactly what we needed. A safe place to stay, comfortable, the staff was amazing. The day of our check out we had 4 hours before having to go to three airport. We were able to leave our luggage in a locked location and get it once we called our taxi for the airport. There is a beautiful park across the street. It is located walking distance from their downtown (zocalo) and market area. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is well located and has a nice park just across the street. The rooms were always very clean and the staff was very friendly and helped us with all our inquiries. We will definitely stay there again when in Oaxaca. If you need a super fast internet connection in your room, you might look for another place since the Wi-fi did not always work.

For the second time in three years, Hostel Don Nino provided for me a comfortable base from which to explore the beautiful city of Oaxaca. The cleaning staff were very professional, and even made my bed every morning. When it was hot at night in the dorm, the front desk staff were very prompt about coming upstairs and turning on the room air conditioner when requested. Every morning a tasty breakfast was served for free in the downstairs dining room. The top floor had a spacious open-air patio and kitchen for the hostelers. I stayed in a 10-bed dorm (5 bunkbeds). The mattresses were comfortable, and each bed had its own light, electrical outlet, and locker. The hostel is walking distance to the main attractions in the historic center of the city: the Zocalo, museums, historic churches, the Ethnobotanical Garden, the large public markets, delicious restaurants and coffee shops, as well as to the main ADO bus station. Don Nino is located in a safe neighborhood, with the large, friendly, and well-used Benito Juarez Park (El Llano) across the street.

Very nice in regards to cleanliness, service, etc. I was unfortunate to not be there at a time when the hostel was busy so I missed some social time and the door to my room had trouble opening and closing quietly but it was a very nice time. Much appreciated the rooftop terrace.

I just pulled in. They let me park the bike in the lobby. Five thumbs up! And they gave me a free beer. Reasonable rates, close to the center. I might never leave!

They have a beautiful outside garden, a nice kitchen, breakfast is different and fresh every morning, and it is very clean with nice showers. I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic hostel hidden away behind a bustling restaurant, in a great location to see Oaxaca City. Very friendly staff, very clean hostel.

Wonderful staff who are willing to do anything for you, a very reliable 24 hour reception and a breakfast worthy of kings, all round a very good place to stay.

This hostel looks like hostel. They have laundry service, excursions, free breakfast, tv's, computers, lockers, even a bar.

Excellent place to stay they have wifi and is next to the park.

Awesome place

Hotel pequeño y sencillo. Habitación limpia y de buen tamaño con televisión con Roku, secador de pelo y lugar donde colgar ropa y caja de seguridad (hay burro y plancha si se pide en recepción). Se extraña un escritorio y una silla para poner chácharas. El papel de baño es de mala calidad, así que recomiendo llevar el propio. Me gustó el precio y que está a dos cuadras de la estación del ADO. (Recomiendo las tlayudas que abren por la noche ahí cerca, como yendo al ADO.)
Es lindo caminar 15 minutos para llegar al centro y el Parque del Llano es agradable, seguro y está lleno de comida tan pronto se pone el sol. Si no quieren caminar, sobre la calle Benito Juárez agarren cualquier camión y los acerca al Zócalo.

¡Tu refugio acogedor en Oaxaca! El hotel Don Nino, ubicado en la calle José María Pino Suárez 804-A, cerca del Parque "El Llano", es una joya oculta que no debes pasar por alto. Aunque es pequeño y un poco difícil de encontrar, una vez que ingresas te recibirán con una cálida bienvenida y un ambiente encantador. Las habitaciones están decoradas con buen gusto y, aunque son compactas, ofrecen todas las comodidades necesarias. El servicio amable y atento del personal es excepcional. Además, su ubicación privilegiada te permite disfrutar de la tranquilidad del parque y explorar los encantos de Oaxaca a pie. ¡Una experiencia auténtica y acogedora te espera en el hotel Don Nino!
