Phenomenal culinary experience! We tasted several dishes, to include the pork tacos, beans with conejo herbs and the cacao napoleon. We were overwhelmed by their unique taste.

What was interesting is that the menu is divided into three main categories - beans, mole sauce dishes and cacao-based desserts.

Lastly, the service was impeccable! Our waiters were well-versed of the menu dishes, their ingredients and history. They were all very attentive, courteous and constantly ensuring our needs were met.

Kudos to management for stopping by the table to ask for our assessment and for cultivating such a professional work environment.

Delicious food with a beautiful view of Oaxaca and the building of the botanic garden. Initially the waiter will prepare in front of you a sauce with the traditional molcajete where you will choose all the ingredients and the level of spiciness. You will also receive a nice tamal as entree to eat with your sauce.

We saw that they had rooftop dining so we decided to give this place a go. It was our first proper sit-down restaurant once we go to Oaxaca.

The exterior rooftop seating was incredible! The atmosphere was just perfect, the seating was great, and the view was incredible - you get to see the mountains and all the different colored homes around you.

The custom salsa they made for us was the best I've had in my entire trip to Mexico! We had a bunch of different foods to try and they were all really solid and tasty.

The service was pretty decent despite the language barrier. Everyone was very accommodating and did their best to answer our questions about the menu.

I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you stop by Oaxaca! Just keep in mind that it was relatively expensive compared to other options nearby.

Beautiful! Both in food and atmosphere. The different parts of the store create a really interesting space. Delicious food. Chocolate Tamales and Chocolate Tacos were our favourite!

Highly recommend! We loved this restaurant so much we visited 3 times while in Oaxaca. Once for lunch, once for breakfast, and once for atole. Everything is fresh and flavorful. You cannot beat the service or the views from their rooftop.

Beautiful views, attentive service, and delicious food!!! Loved the salsa that they make on the spot, and loved that our waiter had wonderful suggestions on what to order, if we weren't sure on where to start or which direction to go with the food. Definitely a memorable experience and would recommend visiting this restaurant!

An incredible dining experience. Came here with a reservation as a solo diner & traveler. I was seated on the rooftop with an incredible view of the city. Everything from the delicious wine, decadent mole, and custom handmade salsa was just absolutely divine. I highly recommend!

Loved this place! It was one my favorite meals while in Mexico, and definitely the best in Oaxaca. To drink I ordered their Atole, which is a delicious corn-based drink. After ordering our drinks, a server comes out to create a salsa for you to eat with your food. He uses the traditional base ingredients and you can choose your chile based on how spicy you want your salsa to be. They make everything fresh in front of you. The menu is separated by the main ingredients in Oaxaca, so you can choose anything from a corn to mole. We ordered everything from the corn section, but their moles looked really good as well. We have the memelas, tacos and tlayuda. My favorite was the taco, the meat was really tasty. For desert we tried the mil ojas. It was amazing! All of their deserts are chocolate based.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and indeed we are very happy that we tried it. We even went twice during our stay in Oaxaca. This restaurant is a very good place to go to in order to eat delicious food and experience a good service.

The menu is only in Spanish but that is no problem as you can use the free WIFI of the restaurant to use Google lense for translations.

The waiters, we had Elvis and the other night Alejandro, were up to all our special requests and provided an excellent service at all times during our stay.

For pescetarian I recommend the Green Mole or the Tamal with Fish. Both dishes are delicious. Although you should try the pastries as a dessert. You can see them right at the entrance. I recommend the lime tarte or the chocolate tarte, called Negrito.

Gorgeous location, prompt and knowledgeable service, food was delicious and quick. The rooftop was such a lovely experience at night, the tables were well spaced so you still felt like you were with others but it wasn't loud or crowded. Would come here again!

Very nice breakfast on the rooftop! Beautiful space. Fresh delicious food. Great vegetarian options - grilled nopal! So good. Fresh fruit. Green juice options. Great value. With more time, we would have gone back.

Stumbled across this restaurant when looking for a rooftop bar. Ended up having the most wonderful experience, with custom made salsa at your table and panoramic views from a viewing platform on the roof not to mention the mountains surrounding you as you eat on the rooftop, it was an experience we were so grateful to have had! The staff were also so attentive and friendly.

I've dined here and also had the opportunity to enjoy a culinary market tour and class with Chef Olga Cabrera. I highly recommend both! She is so kind and patient and the food and service at her restaurant are top notch.

Tierra del Sol is a must when visiting Oaxaca. You can come as early as 7:30am or as late as 10:30pm. You can come for a full meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner or just for a cup of hot chocolate with pan dulce. The variety of pan dulce is out of this world. I recommend the Nido relleno de chocolate or the Nido relleno de guava. Oh and if you are lactose in tolerance no worries they have lactose free milk! They have a beautiful rooftop, only for dining but the food and view is worth it. The first floor is open for casual coffee, tea or hot chocolate and pan dulce.

Best food in Oaxaca! Try Tacos Lechon (perfectly soft) and Mole 3 Generaciones (super rich flavor). For dessert, Tamal 4 Cacaos is the perfect amount of sweetness.

Their attention to detail is impressive. They have a person that comes to the table to make your salsa, we chose the mild chiles and our salsa was so good. They also brought small Tamales with chapulines while we waited for out food. Their Atole was the best drink I had on this trip! I got the one with dried nuts.

A gastronomic delight! Carefully crafted salsa hand made in a molcajete to your specific taste prepared table side, served with complimentary quesadillas. We split the tender asado pork tacos and Pipián Amarillo Chile Mole served with mouth-watering roast duck. Each dish bursted with flavor. Service super attentive and waiters patient with our painstaking decision process.

Roof top dining. Wonderful, wonderful food! Many types of mole, salsa made fresh at your table with your specifications! I had the tlayuda. Wife had a fish tamale. Of the many places we ate, this experience was my favorite. This is what we came to Oaxaca for 🥰
