Our stay at Kohunlich was amazing! I wish we had planned on staying there longer. Such a great value - the quality of the planned daily excursions surprised us. The tour leaders were very knowledgeable and we learned something new on each trip. We loved the location and how it was tucked away in the jungle. The rooms were spacious and private, each one off on its own path. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They went above and beyond for us when my fiance left his jacket in our room after we checked out - they mailed it back to the US for us! The grounds are a little dated - for example, the hot tub wasn't working when we were there. Nonetheless the grounds were generally well-kept.

We loved our stay here! First, location is great if you're interested in the Kohunlich site, which is 3km down the road. I jogged there in there in the morning or it's a pleasant bike ride away. Service is great - all the staff are happy to help and very accommodating. (special kudos to Jesus from Alabama). Food is also very good and they make a real effort to not just vary the menu, but the experiences (e.g. one day there was an outdoor grill). Food and drink are indeed all included and generous. The programming is very thoughtful. There was a cocktail-making class one day. And, every day, there's an excursion. We particularly enjoyed the late-afternoon canoe ride. Just relaxing by the pool and admiring the jungle was perfect. We would happily return!

My wife and I spent our 45th anniversary here. The private cabana was well worth the price. Secluded from the other loggings, but still a pleasant walk to the main plaza for dinner or the pool. Amazing and delicious Yucatan and Mayan dishes available anytime. Expert guides took us on 9 different Mayan archeological sites in our 10 days there. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Best if you know some Spanish.

1.a little bumpy to arrive to the location ( like 10 minutes) , but thats for all the construction going on everywhere.
2.When you do the check in they explain you perfectly well how the all inclusive works , your included activities and how the property works. 3. the room are absolutely fantastic, right in the middle of the jungle , they are big ,comfortable and clean, the bathrooms are also big , with WiFI and no TV. and you have to close the windows and doors as you are in the middle of the jungle and you dont want an insect going in.
4 The food at the restaurant is just amazing , the breakfast is wonderful but lunch and dinner have special selections everyday plus the regular food like Arrachera , Chicken , burgers, etc,
5. Drinks and beverage are included ( pls ask )
6. the pool and the jacuzzi are great , if you want the jacuzzi hot then ask an employee to turn it on ( around 20 minutes before you plan to get in) there are pool towels .
7. Tours and activities are wonderful and excelented planned!! .. we went to 2/3 tours we had included and the staff and organization are just unreal. we have a little girl and they bring extra items for her for the Kayak tour. 8.mosquito are inevitable, use repellent!.
9. at the end (check out) a tip is asked for the service ( its optional) but im sure you will leave it as the staff goes beyond their assigments so you get a quality stay at this hotel.

A Five Star All inclusive and extremely exclusive resort hidden off the main roads.

Located 45 minutes from Chetumal, Mexico and extremely secluded.

Indulging yourself in private cabins, pools, excellent food, and private upscale tours.

This is a Honeymoon or special occasion resort that you save years to have magic moments.

Imagine a private cabin in a jungle setting with all the amenities you could possibly dream of. Beautiful flowers, exquisite grounds, pampered service, heated pools, and located on the sacred Mayan ruins.

Food that is amazing and fresh fruit that’s to die for. Anything you need or want can be provided.

Enjoy a full body massage under the lush jungle canopy. As cool breezes and tranquil music feed your senses.

Take a bath and be one with nature as God intended us to be. Then share romantic days, evenings, and nights until you are ready to fall asleep in a luxurious bed with plush cotton linen.

Forget about the outside world and travel back in time. To experience night under the stars with no light pollution and swim under the full moon.

Then enjoy a nice drink or a expensive Cuban Cigar on your private porch. Enjoy exclusive privacy in a secure environment with no restrictions on what your heart desires.

I haven't slept so good for a long long time. Beds are huge and comfy and you fall asleep with jungle sounds. The pool snacks are very tasty and the trip to the turquoise lake is an experience someone cannot miss.

Spent an anniversary there. The staff made a big deal for us with an amazing private dinner and a special lighting ceremony. It was all planned without me knowing and was such an amazing surprise. Also the excursions were fantastic. Ever single one was planned so we were able to go and enjoy without worrying at all about any details.

Can't say how highly I recommend this all inclusive. Perfectly maintained and absolutely picturesque in the amazing Yucatan jungle. Food was 100% delicious. Rooms were beautiful. Pool is small. If all rooms were filled there wouldn't be enough space on pool deck. A few minutes away from Kohunlich Ruins which were over the top amazing!!!! Free to explore and nobody there!! You can walk all over the ruins. No limits to your exploration of an ancient Mayan civilization! Just get there!

Incredible experience. Terrific facilities and experiences despite being in the jungle. The food was fantastic. We ate the specials for every meal and loved everything. The adventures were fascinating and fun. Nothing to extremely physical, but some of the climbs up the Mayan ruins are challenging. Beds are wonderful. The bugs are the only drawback, but it is a jungle environment. Be prepared. We came prepared and they did not detract from the enjoyment.

I love this place. It is not for everyone. You need to understand what it offers before going there. Limited wi-fi takes getting used too. Excursion guides make it worth going. You have to be open minded and flexible to have the most fun. If you want total pampering this is not the place for you...

One of the best (if not THE best) vacations ever! Welcoming resort in a secluded jungle setting. Manuel the chef and his attentive staff prepare delicious gourmet meals. Open self-serve bar with top-shelf liquor. Bar staff is also available to make you whatever you want. Daniel and the activities team took us on amazingly unique daily activities (lake kayaking, visiting Mayan ruins, even night kayaking)! We felt like we were living the lifestyle of the rich and famous! ALL of the staff were so attentive and accommodating! We are already planning our return visit. It definitely isn't "swanky", but more rustic. But what do you expect in the middle of the jungle? Lots of exotic birds and other fauna just outside your private deck with sofa and hammock.

A great place with very friendly and helpful staff. Great food and drinks. The chef's soups are especially fantastic. Very nice self service bar with a fine tequila selection.

The activities are great with very experienced guides who clearly care a great deal about the subject matters of the places visited.

The overall atmosphere is very relaxing but never boring. I absolutely recomend a week here.

Loved this place! It was perfect for our honeymoon! It was great for those that want lounging & activities. The food was amazing, especially the special lunches and dinners at the activities. My advice: do all the activities and don't let the timing deter you. They were amazing and so much fun for all ages!

We highly recommend the Explorean Kohunlich!! We had a wonderful vacation and everything from the accomodations to the staff was amazing! It's the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation! Enoc was our English speaking guide who was extremely knowledgeable of the places we went to see and made all of our excursion experiences a blast! We will most certainly be back!

This is the second visit. Our first visit was 5 days, this one is 11 days which should tell you a lot about what we think of this place. Last visit we had a dedicated English speaking guide which we prefer. It's not fair to the Spanish speaking guests to have to wait while everything is said twice.

Wonderful all inclusive in the jungle near Kohunlich ruins. Beautiful bungalows, wonderful food, inviting pool and commons areas. Treat yourself to a massage while there. Very friendly spa.

This place was our last stop to Mexico and it was the best! The staff are all very friendly and helpful especially Nuvia! She was amazing!
The hotel has activities planned for everyday. My favorite was the trip to Bacalar lagoon! It felt like paradise.
We didn’t need mosquito repellents at the hotel but definitely needed it on the outdoor activities.
My only recommendation for management is to ask people not to play their music very loud at the pool. The place is perfect for quiet and peaceful moments; the first time we were at the pool, a couple was playing loud music through their Bluetooth speaker and it was pretty annoying. Other than that, everything was simply perfect!

Great place to stay if you really want to explore untouched Mexico and discover the Mayan sites which aren't on the usual tourist route. The variety of activities run by the hotel are brilliant for discovering what Mexico has to offer. The guides are great and really help you get the most out of every activity or trip.
