Los Rápidos de Bacalar

I was a bit concerned about the reviews I read before I visited this place. In my experience in the restaurant, Jan 2024, the staff was super friendly, food was good, and quick service.
Los rapidos is such a beautiful place I recommend going, you can go as many times you like, is very gentle current my little kids enjoyed, is recommend to used the life jackets, no necessary tho, but in points the water can go a bit fast, the jackets are included on your entrance fee, these life jackets are very old and in not great condition.

I'm glad we have this little stop as it is hidden from the busy road, we spend around 3 hrs here on our way to Bacalar.

If you’re heading over to bacalar! This is one place not to be missed, totally worth the drive and effort…. Had an amazing day food was good and reasonable! Highly recommended. Safety equipment available and also kayaks very good all round.

One of the best places we've been so far. Just take a taxi from the centre, works really well. There was more than enough space, we had a very nice table at the water, there are lockers, great banjos. The staff is really friendly and the food is delicious. The Rapidos are so nice, you can take a lifevest and drift down the stream as much as you like

A bit expensive, perhaps. But overall a great experience. Makes for a pretty chill day. Do yourself a favour and get here early. They open at 10am.

The water is amazing. They are NOT rapids though. It is more like a river current. It is crystal clear and not cold unlike most rivers or fresh water sources. You walk out on a boardwalk way over the water for about 5-19 min and then you jump in and float back down. The entrance for adults was 200 pesos and it includes life jackets. There are places for you to change and bathrooms. There is also a restaurant there. The service was a little slow but the food was pretty good and the guacamole dip was delicious.

Make sure you get here in time as you want the most day light as possible to enjoy the natural beauty of this place. We were very grateful that this location has the convenience of taking cards as some or most do not. The food was nothing short than wonderful and fresh! The service was great and our server kept our drinks full and happy. We did not get a locker but would suggest one for a better piece of mind although we did not because our server was kind enough to keep an eye out for our belongings

Very fun and unique. Food was ok, but not spectacular. You are really there for the rapids.

Beautiful attraction that did not feel crowded on day we visited - Wednesday. $200 entry each. Plenty of free areas to sit. There were some areas reserved for a minimum food spend, can't remember amount. We got some drinks and guacamole. Did not think prices stupid. Staff friendly. The main event, the rapids incredibly beautiful. Cost well worth it. We spent about 5hrs there swimming reading napping people watching ps. kayaking looked like hard work

Loved our day here. The access costs 300 pesos, but when you get in, you can sit at a table in the shadow and enjoy your day in and out the river. You can rent kayaks to explore the lagoon around or you can just put on a life vest, go up the river and let yourself float down up to the restaurant. The menu is decently priced and includes cocktails. Waiters are relaxed and don't put any pressure on you to order more and more.

The Rapidos de Bacalar experience was fantastic, breathtaking and unforgettable. The crystal clear blue waters, the surroundings, the view, the birds, the fishes and many others things brings a calm and positive feeling while been dragged by the laguna current. The hammacks on the water was also a good place for relaxation.

Beautiful place to visit! It is a narrow part of lagoon, where water flow goes from south to north. On the bottom - there are stromatolites formations, which are supposed to be protected. So from a restaurant you walk against current over the most shallow part, trying not to hit stromatolites. Water on the walking part mostly reaches ankle/knee. On the way back you just swim back with a current in the middle of the stream. In some parts its 1-2 meters deep. Its good to take snorkel and water shoes, as it is pretty slippery.

LOVEDDDDD THIS PLACE! solo female traveler, I felt very safe here. Free parking, $2 locker to rent to store your belongings- though some people leave their stuff in chairs for free… I personally wouldn’t. good food, drinks & music. It was one of the highlights of my trip. Would definitely recommend you bring some water shoes

Wooooow wooooow wooow... Is all I can say!! This place is amazeballs.. It's a must if you're in the area.
You will find a beautiful setting in between 2 lagoons with a channel carved out between Stromatolites (breathing rocks GOOGLE THIS). Crystal clear blue swirling water, running rapidly from one lagoon to the next. Great place for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding or just sit back and take in the view.
Amazing place to chill with friends and family. Staff were very attentive. Menu was reasonably priced.

I was in Bacalar for the first time last week. This for sure is now my favorite spot , I had such a great time I can’t wait to go back and bring my family and friends. Just take a look at the pictures. We did snorkeling, kayaking and swimming . We had some drinks and I had to try the fish!

Make sure you come early. At least 15 min before they open. And get the far left seating (if you are a group of 4 or more), go as far as you can. There is a minimum spend of 1500 pesos for this lounge, but if you all eat and have few drinks, that’s it, it’s worthy.

We didn’t get anything from the restaurant, only paid the 200 pesos entrance fee. Very nice place, it is beautiful, worth the price :)

A must if you are visiting Bacalar. Crystal clear water and scattered spots to rest with your partner or friends. Food is delicious and not expensive. Staff are friendly. Located in the nature. You can kayak or just enjoy being taken around by the stream

Has to be one of the most beautiful places to go in the Bacalar Area!! You can spend the entire day there floating down the river, eating great food and having some ice cold beverages
