We had an excellent stay for 9 nights. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We had a lovely patio terrace overlooking the courtyard. Breakfast every morning was fantastic. It was always delicious, with a wide variety of dishes as well as fruit, granola, coffee, and a different mixture of juices every day. The food in Oaxaca city is wonderful, but we stopped eating breakfast out once we stayed at Casa de las Bugambilias as it is too good to miss. The staff make this spot extra special. They are kind, friendly, very personable, and extremely helpful. They want you to have an amazing time in Oaxaca, and go out of their way to help make that happen. We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to highly recommend it, and we hope to come back ourselves as well!

What a phenomenal experience and place to stay in Oaxaca! Everything about this was great. I booked a room just for myself as a solo traveler and although the room was small it had plenty of storage and space for one person. The breakfast was fantastic, very tasty, and I loved the communal table although I also liked that they were fine if you took your food to the garden to eat there. Everyone who works there is kind, ready and eager to help, and really working very hard to make sure you have a wonderful stay. Finally, the location is incredible and truly can't be beat. It's right in the center near a true plethora of restaurants, cafes, and sights to see, but is still pretty quiet and calm. Overall a truly fantastic stay.

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful B&B for a week. The daily breakfast was amazing as were the lovely staff who made it for us. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. The rooms we're lovely; very comfortable and cleaned daily. The location was perfect; in the center of everything we were a short walk to all of our destinations. If you are thinking of staying in Oaxaca you need to consider this B&B as the service and location are simply divine.

Cant recommend this wonderful place enough!! My wife and I had an amazing weeklong stay with Juanita and her staff!! The staff are very welcoming and cater to any needs or requests. The breakfast every morning was a perfect way to start the day. It felt like a bit of a family environment with everyone gathering at the table to talk about their plans or any recommendations. The rooms and common areas are very beautiful! Anytime we come to Oaxaca we will stay at Bugambilias or one of the other houses!! Highly recommend!!

My kids and I absolutely loved our time at Casa de las Bugambilias. The staff were so sweet and accommodating. All the spaces were beautiful and inviting.

We stayed in the Girasoles room which has a king bed plus two double beds in a separate room, two bathrooms, and a seating area.

Guests have access to the courtyard, living room, den, library and kitchen. One night we used some dishes from the kitchen and ate dinner in the courtyard.

There aren't any in-room coffee makers, so I had to wait for coffee in the mornings. But by the third day they noticed and had coffee ready for me.

We love this place and aren't considering staying anywhere else next time we visit Oaxaca.

I can't express enough how amazing the staff was to us, the breakfast was delicious, the location was perfect, the room beautiful, and the tours were incredible! I will definitely return. Our tour guide, René, was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. Gracias René! The art, the textiles, the food, the historical sites, and the people of Oaxaca, are beyond amazing. I fell in love and hope to return soon.

Amazing. Would highly recommend. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff were all so incredibly friendly, and the room we had was stunning with a private balcony. Complementary Breakfast was phenomenal and authentic. Location was 10/10, right in the heart of Oaxaca.

I was with my husband Sergio in this house from January 8th to 11th, in time to see the last hours and the last signs of the Christmas and New Year festivities in Oaxaca. I found the city tidy, clean and full of life. Kind people, impressive monuments and a colorful center full of the centuries-old culture of the region. Which shines through in the handicrafts and art galleries, as well as in the restaurants and finally in las bugambilias. Here every room is a work of art, in the furniture, in the fabrics, in the sculptures in chromed sheet metal and in the kitchen of la Olla, the restaurant next door. But the most beautiful work of art of this beautiful place is alive: she is a kind, smiling woman who works with enthusiasm and passion and tries the impossible to satisfy your every need, small or important. You will find her at the entrance or in the kitchen preparing the abundant and quality breakfasts. Her name is Juanita. Today remains for us the most beautiful memory and we will cherish it. If we are talking to friends and the public of Tripadvisor about las Bugambilias, the credit is due to her. Like all people who work with passion, they give you the feeling of having met someone who can help you, with reading or in-depth advice, without ever being intrusive or intrusive. We live in Italy and it won't be easy to go back, but we will try to do it. The guides are full of Oaxaca, the world should be filled with people like her. A memorable stay. Anna Lisa and Sergio

Favorite B&B I’ve ever stayed in hands down. First off, Juanita and Alejandra go above and beyond expectations, from the initial booking process to my actual stay. They did everything to make my stay AMAZING! Additionally, the breakfast is unbelievably delicious, some of the best breakfast I ever had in my life, creative and fresh!

The rooms and entire property are so well decorated and clean, I can’t get enough of the colors. It’s the entire staff who made my stay one I’ll never forget. Mil mil gracias!!

What an incredible place to stay! It is gorgeous, the breakfast is superb, and it is right at the heart of all of the action in Oaxaca's historic district. I plan to return to the city and will most definitely stay at this hotel again. The rooms were so clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. I can't say enough nice things about this place. My friends and I loved the courtyard, the breakfast room, and the upstairs living room-type space a lot.

Not normally one to to review but this place deserves it! It’s all in the below reviews and so much more. A home from home where you are well looked after. The courtyard is a beautiful place for reading and our room was comfortable and very pretty (Girasoles). We had very busy days so only went to breakfast twice (!) but the loss was ours. Each morning was delicious. We will definitely be back. Also worth mentioning that Olla is a restaurant/ cocktail bar part of the B&B and it was easily the best place for rooftop cocktails. Finally, Pilar’s cooking lessons (recommended by Bugambilias) were wonderful. Very special memories made. Thank you Bugambilias team!

We absolutely adored our stay at Las Bugambilias! The staff were amazing - making us feel welcome from the second we arrived. The B&B was spotlessly clean, had wonderful common areas both inside and outside for relaxing, and your room had all lovely homely touches too. We particuarly loved the breakfast - and the fact that it was served at a communal table in the dining area so that all the guests could get to know eachother and chat over coffee. The B&B really was like a home from home, it's ran by a family and there are so many personal touches throughout (such as wedding photos of the family, guest books from over 10 years ago!) which made us even happier to be staying there, as we felt we were really in somewhere special that had grown over the years. The book shelves were a particular treat also, and grabbing a book to read outside in the sunshine was wonderful. Thank you all for the most perfect stay, your B&B is an absolute credit to Oaxaca! We can't wait to be back again :)

The staff makes you feel very much at home, the rooms are very nice. I love the mix of older, quality wood furnishings and an modern bathroom. Breakfast is delectable, both in taste and looks. It's close to everything, and our guide, Renee, is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the region. Restaurants serve great regional dishes that are delicious. If you're lucky, you'll find the restaurant that serves Stone Soup. Visit the Ethnic Botanical Gardens if you can.

Read the reviews before booking…spot on. So pretty, well run, comfortable, close to everything, quiet, very diverse breakfasts, helpful staff, and lots more. Highly recommend.

The only disconcerting part was our friends had a child and discovered that only one room allowed children. They made the swap at the last minute since that room was available but that part I didn’t get.

I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Oaxaca!
The location is perfect, in the downtown area and everything is at walking distance, in this very safe neighborhood.
The breakfast is different every day, with local dishes, and very huge!
This place is very welcoming. Juanita will help you for everything, she’s such a great woman!
And you can definitely feel the family vibe at this place: we did the Mezcal tour with them, an amazing Cooking Class... they have great recommandations on what to do, what to see and where to eat in Oaxaca. They know everything about Mexico and are very happy to share it.
The patio is also very nice for working remotely!
Will go back to this hotel one day, for sure!

Literally one of the best places we have ever stayed. Not typically one to write reviews, but if it will help get more people to stay here than it's certainly worth it. Every person who works here makes you feel at home and taken care of. Everyday we would go downstairs to be greeted by 4-7 ladies working hard and early to get a healthy Oaxacan breakfast ready for the guests. There was never any pressure and even on the days we stayed out too long the night before and couldn't make breakfast, someone was always there to greet us and say hello. Juanita is one of the most accommodating and gracious hosts we have ever met. Asking us how she can help us get around Oaxaca and helping us make reservations and giving local insights. She made our experience special and personalized. We would even see Mariana and Aurora every once in a while who are the owner/ reservations manager respectively. Always happy to chat and ask us what we needed. The most necessary part of this experience at Bugambilias was the MEZCAL TOUR!!! I would recommend this to everyone who stays, you can not replace this experience. René is the best tour guide we have ever experienced, very friendly and speaks amazing English. Javier was an amazing driver and also a huge part of our experience! We drove just barely an hour out of the city to visit 3-4 mezcal and pulque distilleries. After a few hours we stopped for lunch at one of the best places we ate the entire time we stayed. Please try Tlayudas and Mole Estofando!! I buy liquor and wine in the US and we went to, what was under my impression, the most famous and iconic distillery of Mezcal in Mexico. In the states, you would pay 35$-50$ for a shot of these rare mezcals. So to see the family who makes them and to have René be there to help translate is an experience we will never forget. Truly a life changing experience. Not only mezcal tours are offered but other assortment of tours as well. Not to mention cooking classes from the amazing Chef Pilar who runs the restaurant La Olla which is connected to Bugambilias and is same ownership. This restaurant has plenty of respect on its own apart from the hotel. The craziest thing about our entire stay is the incredible value. The mezcal tour could easily be a $350+ US value but is a simple $100 per person. If this BNB was in Scottsdale or Napa, etc. It would easily be a few hundred a night. The fact we got such an amazing value on everything made our experience feel heightened! With that being said PLEASE TIP EVERYONE. YOU ARE GETTING AN INCREDIBLE VALUE and there should be no reason why a few hundred-thousand extra pesos should be a problem. These people care and love their work which is rare to see. To be in the presence of these lovely, hardworking, generous people is truly inspiring, working in hospitality. Please come give them a try and you will not be disappointed!!!

We stayed here a little bit over a week and really enjoyed our stay! Super clean and comfortable, a/c in the room as needed, delicious breakfast. Juanita and the rest of the staff was amazing: attentive, friendly, and reliable. Organized several taxis for us + a great temazcal. Would definitely come back. Muchas gracias!

Book your reservation now, then come back and read the review... don't wait! We made reservations 5 months in advance and glad we did as this warm and inviting B&B fills up quickly. Juanita and the rest of the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Even before we got to the hotel, Juanita made dinner arrangements for new year's eve dinner at a well booked restaurant. The rooms are very cosy and the bathroom spotless. The breakfasts are enjoyed with other guests, freshly prepared and always delicious, even accommodating a fussy diet. I look forward to returning to Oaxaca and staying at the Casa de Las Bugambilias...I should probably book it now. Bye!

We are still here… I wanted to write this review before we leave. This B&B is STUNNING! Upon arrival, my 42 yr old Peri-menopausal self was about to fall over from a heat stroke. When I realized there was NO AC, I almost cried. BUUUUUT, you don’t need it. It has been nothing but comfortable during the middle of the day, and especially in the evenings while sleeping. Comfy beds, sparkling clean rooms & bathrooms… all the stuff you expect from a very well loved property.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about the stay. Juanita and her amazing team go absolutely above and beyond anything you might get at a 5-star hotel. They have taken care of every single tiny need we have had. They arranged for us to have a personal tour guide to take us to see the surrounding towns. We never felt like we were being taken to pre-arranged places that they have “deals” with. It was all genuine. Juanita helped me get a massage, laundry done, and a guy to ship all the art we bought home ahead of us leaving. She has recommended museums, restaurants, interesting points of interest, etc. This hotel is all you hope for, but it’s the people that make it a home for your adventure. We adore them so much and can’t thank them enough for loving us and treating us like family since the moment we landed.

Other details: Bedding is really nice. Location could not be better!!! Breakfast is beautifully plated, delicious, NOM. NOM. NOM. My husband and I love this place dearly, and we have felt nothing but love in return.

STAY HERE!!! It’s more than a hotel… it really is.
