El Tendajon

Popular for dinner but breakfast is just as good. Prices similar to other places but bigger portions, well cooked. Yogurt with fruit was ample, with seeds and toasted nuts and some chocolate cookie type sprinkles at the bottom. We also had ranchero eggs which came with beans, cheese, avocado etc. Waiters don't do English much but there is an English menu.

Slightly upper end of the spec as far as prices go but well worth it. All the food we ordered was fantastic and really good service. Would go again

The service was friendly and fast, and the food was great. Prices were reasonable too. We liked it so much we went back this morning to try breakfast and were equally pleased. Good coffee (americano)! The oatmeal was the prettiest I’ve ever eaten, and tasty too. My husband enjoyed his huevos rancheros. For dinner we had the trilogía quesadillas appetizer, fantastic, and split the carnita asada. Churro for desert was good, pretty presentation. Great cocktails, too. Very pleased

Great tunes- old rock classics. Wonderful craft beer - the best I've seen in the city (along with classic cocktails and extensive mezcal list) overall a hidden gem we accidentally came across and came back to

This place is our favourite restaurant in Oaxaca. We had brunch and dinner here. The food is phenomenal. We had several tasting menus in Oaxaca but this restaurant is definitely the best in town.

Growing up in cities and had a lot of top Michelin stars restaurants. But honestly, this surprise found near our hotel is totally out of our expectations. The richness and depth in flavour is something that show the food cultures of Mexican food.

The El Cuche and the tomato salad is a must try.

Delicious meal with very fresh ingredients. All dishes had portions that were large enough to share. Dessert of churros was exceptional like Michelin star quality. Service was friendly and efficient.

Stopped in for a late afternoon lunch. What an amazing meal. Female chef who was also bussing tables and checking on customers. Food was traditional yet refined. Highly recommend. Negroni was delicious.

Visited for dinner. Had a bit of everything: Oaxaca tasting platter, various tacos. Everything was on point. Nice decor, great staff, chill.

Tuesday 1-2pm very quiet, friendly waiter, good vibe, we got guac+chips a couple tacos and a couple beers for $240 ($12usd). Salsas from 3 different chilis were very characteristic and nice. Easily fed both of us. Cool ambience and music.

Delicious food!! Super fresh with so much flavor in every bite. 2 tacos, 3 empanadas and 2 beers was about $17usd. Well worth it!!!

I stopped at this place quite by chance. The service and food was impeccable and my favourite restaurant experience so far in Oaxaca. I had an awesome sirloin steak in a black bean salsa with 3 sauces....honestly I was sad when the flavour left my lips...my advice, go here! Keep up the great effort team El Tendajon!

This is one of my must-dos here. I have eaten nearly the entire menu and there is always something wonderful to eat.

Lately they had a special mushroom menu since they’re in season and the dishes were inventive and delicious. The level of cooking is very high, yet the prices are reasonable. And the place feels cute and comfortable without being too fashionable (which happens to be my sweet spot).

Cocktails are good here. Beer and mezcal selections are wonderful.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner are all great.
Breakfast: waffles breakfast with their savory waffles. Or the waffles with the berries. Or the egg dishes.
