Narantuul Market

The flea market in Ulaanbaatar is impressively vast. While it can get quite crowded in some sections, the prices are generally very affordable. I found it to be a relativaly safe place, despite some concerns I had read about potential theft. However, it's always a good practice to exercise caution, avoid flaunting money, and stay vigilant in crowded areas, just as you would anywhere else.

Of the 37 countries I’ve been to, from Cambodia to Sierra Leone, this has definitely been my favorite outdoor market. Clean, awesome prices, people don’t haggle and annoyingly negotiate. You can walk up to a stall and they don’t pressure you. TONS of variety and the pricing is simply phenomenal. Got a “Northface” 🤫😂 vest for $13 USD. And if you don’t have any cash, most of them take credit card. I will definitely be going back!

P.s. As with all outdoor markets, watch your pockets.

Great way to spend an afternoon, the market sells everything... and is massive... despite all guides saying be careful of pick pockets etc... nothing to worry about, i came here alone and wasn't troubled anyone... Enjoy...

Sellers were friendly. This is a good place where you can find Natural warms gloves, hats, pants etc

This brilliant market has absolutely everything you could need. From hardware, to carpets, to bicycles, gifts, souvenirs, clothes, shoes, food, and stationary.

This is where to go if you're local and need anything. If you're a tourist they also have a great section with antiques and souvenirs. A seriously impressive place for any of your needs.

Many hive value and unique items available at a serious discount.

Best and to my knowledge the only AWESOME outdoor market in Mongolia lolJkk.
This place rocks. It's closed on Tuesday but other than that come here and get lost! It's a huge place with lots to explore. If you just moved to Ulanbataar then come here to buy everything you need. Kitchen, furniture, blankets, beds and bedding- you will fins everything! And, buy your clothes here! Amazing quality! And very cheap.

"Black market" is an absurd way to describe this place. It's a normal open market full of small businesses selling handmade, Mongolian or imported products. Amazing in it's diversity, it has survived the boom of all the modern malls. Even the Sunday mall next door, although a lot more comfortable in winter, cannot compete with the prices, color, atmosphere and variety in the Narantuul. A must visit for everyone-tourist or returning local.
