Amazing! Just what we needed after the journey through Myanmar. Warm welcome, nice cold beer on tap and an amazing Japanese whiskey collection. The staff were great and hospitable and accommodated special requests. The food was great but definitely a bit pricey. Happy Hour was good but only for drinks, no food specials. Ambiance and decor were spot on and a nice change of pace. We feasted and it was well worth it. I'd recommend the place!

One of the best meals we had in Myanmar. In a very nice Location, with great music. So go and enjoy the Gekko would be our verdict!

Try the original new takes on classic drinks (Gekko G&T and Gekko Mojito), the main courses and desserts. We were not disappointed at all. The price level is higher than average, but so is the standard of food and service

Great service (welcome drink and cool towel to wipe your hands and face) and great decor and ambience. Food was good and reasonably priced. Great place for a romantic date. Happy hour cocktails and wines available Saturday too!

Superb, a warm welcome with a cold towel. Take a break from the hot colonial history outside to the new Burmese avant-garde in this modern yet classy take on a Japanese styled bar restaurant. From the leather saddle seats to the soft elegant lighting this place seduces you away from the culture and history outside the door. Menu is really nice take on Japanese fusion.

It's a good place. Food is great, but what really stands out is the visual impression: both interior design and food presentation are just beautiful! I think it's a good place to invite someone you want to impress, like a business partner.

Recently reopened and the food and cocktails are excellent. Price is good value given the quality and attention to detail.

Min Gyi Kyiak is a nice well balanced cocktail. The tepanyaki, gyozas and sushimi are delicious.

The sushi and bento boxes make a delicious lunchtime offering and the teppanyaki grill and noodles are perfect for an inner city evening dining experience. The bar snack menu is superb for those wanting something lighter and the bao buns are a must have! The bar offers a wide selection of drinks with an expertly curated range of Japanese whiskies. Warm friendly staff on hand, a service second to none. A must try when in Yangon.

Great Japanese inspired menu with excellent service. Really nice ambience, jazz on Fridays, excellent cocktails if that is your thing. And now totally non-smoking.

Beautiful bar/restaurant in the colonial part of the city. If you're looking for a night with western food and drinks this is the place to go to. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Loved this place. It was a welcome and refreshing change. The food is very good, I tried several dishes and none disappointed. If you're looking for good sushi while in Myanmar, definitely head there. Although the prices are quite high compared to the usual places you'd hang out at in Yangon.

Friendly bar staff to practice Burmese and ask how to say different things. Really good cocktails. Beer is not as cheap as other places, cocktails are around 10,000 and use proper Japanese whisky. You receive fresh towels for your face and a cup of cool Japanese tea when you first arrive. I would highly recommend it if you're not on a tight budget.
They also have a very extensive Japanese whisky menu.

Definitely one of the best restaurant in Yangon. Very good food and menu, good wine list (compare to average Yangon restaurants) very professional staff and some of the best cocktails in town. On Friday eve a jazz band from 7pm to 10pm. Highly recommended

Great atmosphere, food, and drink. One of the precious few quality spots in Yangon for a good evening out. To the common complaints that it is both a bit pricey and not traditional Japanese food - yes to both, but you're in Yangon - quality costs money, and Yangon isn't in Japan. Enjoy it for what it is, which is a very nice restaurant and bar with tasty things to eat and drink.

There is a lot of food on the menu and there is also 3 ramen dishes. I ordered Japanese food there, because it is a Japanese shop. The service was Satisfactory, because it was neither really bad and neither really good. When I ordered food for a takeaway, the waiters give warm tea. So, not a really bad service. I had to wait around 15 to 30 minutes for the food. Many foreigners go there, because it is a Japanese shop with satisfactory service, delicious food and the shop has 2 floors which looks nice. The price varies around $7-$15 for one dish. In my opinion, it is not cheap neither expensive, so a good price.

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! I went to town on the sashimi and sushi here and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality and presentation. I’ll certainly be back before I leave Yangon. The cocktails were as good as the food, so either way, you’ve got a reason to pop by.

Great range of cocktails and happy hours from 5 - 7. They have sashimi, sushi, and rolls to teriyaki and noodles, a small but comprehensive range in each. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Some welcome surprises on the liquor shelf as well.
