Naratheinkha French & Asian Restaurant

Squid salad (Asian style) was good, fresh and light and had the kick. Beef steak in black peppercorn sauce was surprising good, cooked to medium as ordered, tender and juicy. Fried butterfish with pasta was also good, a break from oily food in Myanmar.

Best restaurant in New Bagan with the cutest owner ever who went to France to study in a gastronomic restaurant. Delicious food and at burmese price! Try pennywort leaves salad, mincefish and a glass of myanmar redwine. Real crush on this place...

One of the best meals I've had in Myanmar so far. The chef is passionate about his food and if you have the pleasure of eating here you will see the care that goes into each dish. He was unable to provide a dessert on the menu so made me a white wine dessert called a "sabayon" which was amazing and could easily be served at a fine-dining restaurant in the west. Coffee was also excellent.

Fantastic food in a gem of a restaurant located slightly away from the main road in New Bagan. I went with a group and managed to try a variety of dishes - all of which were cooked to perfection. Top choices include their hot and sour soup, beef peppercorn steak, honey pork loin, spicy fried rice, and Myanmar red wine. Service was excellent, prices extremely reasonable and the owner was very helpful. Will definitely be visiting again!

That was one of the best 'western' diner we've had in Myanmar. The spaghetti Bolognese and also the steak with black pepper sauce with potatoes and vegetables were delicious!
In fact, it's a bit more expensive than other restaurants but for us, it was totally worth it.

Would come back any time, especially when we like to eat something different than asian food.

This restaurant in New Bagan is a true gem. My husband and I wanted to give it a try after reading some good reviews and were completely blown away. The cooking is beyond anything we tasted elsewhere in Myanmar and, quite frankly, at a truly Michelin-star standard. We had the porkloin in a honey sauce that was absolutely fantastic as well as a fish that again tasted like nothing else. The creme brulee for dessert was also very very impressive. Please all go support this talented chef who is keen to share his passion, along with the rest of his super friendly staff. Worth doing a short tuk-tuk or taxi ride from old Bagan or Nyang-U to have dinner there. Vanessa + Christophe

Lovely french and Asian influenced restaurant which, unfortunately, you might miss unless you happen to be walking past! Naratheinkha is just a little further than Sun Beam away from the main road in New bagan. Menu is manageably small, food is excellent (pasta especially good, chips just OK), and service friendly. Overall excellent value and more fun (and tasty) than most of the westerner-focused mediocrity on the main road.

Food was delicious! The chef is local but has had training in France. (Strike up a conversation with him, he's so nice!) Definitely worth the trip if you want a little more mix than typical burmese food!

We ate here for 3 meals during our staff in Bagan. The owner worked in France and Yangon, and it shows in the food. It far exceeded what I expected to find in Bagan. Strongly recommended. We never understood why there weren’t more diners given the quality, hospitality, and price.

Food was very fresh and tasty. We had the butterfish and the chicken satay.
There was no dessert available but the chef suggested to make an « à la minute » sabayon with pineapple, very good!
Give it a chance, you won’t regret it! We were the only ones there but it deserves to be more popular!

This is a little gem of a restaurant you should efinitely make the effort to find. Serving both French dishes and Asian dishes with French flair. I really enjoyed my Tea Leaf salad and grilled minced fish wrapped in a green veg and tasty tomato sauce. Local Myanmar Sauvingon Blanc was suprisingly as good as anywhere -- really. This will please both francophiles and Maynmarphiles. Search on Google Maps for "french restaurant Bagan". You won't be disappointed.

Great food, the best that I ate in Bagan, but you better order a side dish because the dishes are not very large

TripAdvisor says it is closed. It is OPEN!! It is a wonderful restaurant, prices are very reasonable and food is delicious! The chef/owner studied French cuisine in Yangon. After eating local expensive cuisine the last few days, we were glad to come here and enjoy various dishes cooked to perfection and fresh fruit juices extracted with a juicer. Must try this restaurant! Just off the main road in New Bagan. 09/03/2017

A real find in New Bagan. Very friendly owner and great food. We had butterfish in taragon sauce and pan fried seabass, which were both excellent. Wine and beer both available. Also does Asian dishes. Just off main drag next to Starbeam restaurant.

Absolutely amazing! Delicious food! I hogaño recommend. My husband and I tried the tea Leaf Salad, Steak with Peppercorn Sauce and Buttered Fish, all of them delicious. We will go again for sure.

Excelent place and nice food! The fried chicken with mushrooms sause is delicious.

TripAdvisor is wrong. This place is not closed. We just visited here on November 26th. Get daily special. We have the beef lasagna and it was awesome. You can't go wrong with the pasta dishes here. We will probably visit one more time before leaving Bagan

Best place in New Bagan, we came there several times to enjoy Asian and European food. It is the best food we had during our stay in Bagan. The owner is also very welcoming and smiling !

Best of both world for western and Asian cuisines! Best fried rice I have eaten! And the peppercorn steak is really kick a punch with fresh pepper!

The owner is both the waiter and chef. Excellent food, a reprieve from the red sauce pastas elsewhere in southeast Asia. Recommend highly to anyone who is in Bagan.
