Nice cozy room with hot shower and bathtub, fine AC. There is a restaurant where you can enjoy Asian cuisine and a variety of beverages. They offer spa service and have a swimming pool. E bike service is available, but you can simply book a tuk tuk driver to guide you around the area for a day, the price was 35000 kyats, definitely worth it if you want to efficiently visit the pagodas since the driver knows the best ways. River view is nice throughout the day.

Perfect place to stay at Bagan Thandae Hotel. It's located near Ayeyarwaddy river and over 90 rooms available. Room types are very luxury and value of money is very reasonable rates. Service was amazing. Started from welcome juice, everything is perfect and staffs are super friendly and professional. Coffee taste are right for the coffee flavour and good choice to get better chance at Bagan in this hotel. Hotel manager is super friendly and explained about their hotel's product, service and facilities. It have amazing views near Ayeyarwaddy river view and only available in upper Myanmar region trees are very beautiful and good choice to stay with them. Thank you very much Bagan Thandae Hotel team.

Good location. Great hotel, specially for ones who want to immerse yourself in nature. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very nice restaurant by the river and beneath a gorgeous tree, where you can enjoy having your dinner, sipping a glass of cocktail and watching the sun setting down the mountain far away. Rooms are reasonably big and comfy, located between gardens with hundreds of kinds of plants and trees. Has a pool and spa too. Loved it here. Would definitely come back next time!

Amazing resort. Don’t have expect modern rooms, they are definitely dated but are very clean, and the beds are comfortable enough. We stayed 2 nights. The river view is one of the highlights along with the accommodating staff. We booked 2 4 hour tours each day we were there and the last one with a guide. Very cheap and worth it. If you are brave enough I would suggest renting a motor bike to tour around yourself especially if you are going to watch the hot air balloons.

Brilliant place really miss it, staff was great, and location for temples , food a little high priced, had some nice Western food like a nice burger and chips, which makes a nice change if you have been travelling for a while. Breakfast was good, beautiful surroundings, tip of the day would be to rent the E bikes from the hotel, there good, the hotel doesn't take advantage. brilliant place, also get a guide, i used a polite young lad, you genuinely bump into them when you drive out the hotel on the road, they see your confused, just ask if they will show you around, they ask at the end of the day to buy a painting they have done as payment to say thanks (£25_30) well worth it. My guy push us back after the battery had died. If you want the guy i used just message me and i will send it, really nice lad, and its good to help

Quiet resort hotel with rich old historic style bungalow rooms surrounded by trees, shrubbery, native plants and the Irrawaddy river. Very humble and friendly staff provide sincere quick service for you. Buffet breakfast consists of western and Burmese fare. I look forward to returning in the future.

Only negative is the presence of large amounts of visible trash, along the roadside, leading to hotel. Hopefully community education about the environmental impact of abandoning trash improperly will improve the conditions.

The view is amazing with a giant tree stretching above your head but the room is not very satisfying due to small size and old facility. The hotel is located at old Bagan Which is very convenient if you are going to get up early and see sunrise. Overall I will choose it when next visit because the river view definitely worth it. Also there is puppet performance at night which is very interesting.

Fabulous old world luxury, great sunsets from Bar on river every night. Staff friendly, very secure, great buffet breakfast. Very hot water bath in room (be careful!). Prince of Wales stayed and revisited as Edward III before his abdication as King of England.

Beautiful hotel right beside the Irrawaddy river. The riverdide restaurant is good for breakfast and also dinner, especially just before the sunset. There are many big trees in the hotel and they are so beautiful in both day and night time. One of the best hotel I stayed in my Myanmar trip.

Just can't get enough pictures of the trees and riverside views. Highly recommended.

On the river bank, nice garden view. Room is comfortable but aircond location can be adjusted to face the beds rather than at side. Clean and tidy. Breakfast is great with good choices, having meals next to river bank. Dinner not much choice and mid range prices is USD or equivalent Ks. Overall, good choice.

A beautiful place! Near the river we're you can see a suggesting sunset. The rooms have every comfort you need. There's a free swimming pool and the breakfast is served in front of the river (I went there in November). The staff is kind and helpfull.

It is a nice, cozy and cool hotel in Old Bagan. If you don't have budget concerns, I highly recommend Deluxe River View types of rooms. Rooms are large and good enough for families as well. Staffs are helpful and supportive.

This Hotel was an "out of this world" experience! The Rooms are organised into small clusters of cottages, two or three rooms in one cottage, each with a sit out veranda. The cottages again are laid out in a well manicured garden with lawns, flowering plants and larger trees. The main restaurant and the adjoining bar is an open air affair under the trees, facing the Ayarawaddy River. The river side is a wonderful place to relax, unless you've booked yourself into one of the more expensive river facing rooms.
The staff are very helpful, polite and courteous. I would strongly recommend this property to all visitors to Bagan!

Five stars: not for the luxury most people associate with star ratings. But for the lovely setting, the smooth and professional staff the just right amenities. Wi-Fi for example: it was reliable in our guest room and even covered the outdoor dining area. Buffet breakfast offers many Asian and Western options. Eggs prepared to your order. Knowledgeable front desk staff. Walkable to archaeological museum. We'd definitely stay here again if we have the good fortune of returning to Bagan.

It's so lovely place where to stay in Bagan. The rooms are so clean and wide. All the staffs are so helpful and smile. So quiet place. We're like in garden. Just need to change or add more differents things to eat in Menu. We stayed there for long nights and Menu are alway the same.

We stayed for 5 nights, the staff were soo lovely and helpful. We eat in the restaurant everyday, the quality of the food was great and affordable for what it is. The room is clean, pool is quite big. They have a great selection of breakfast. Thank you!!

Very nice resort with an overpriced restaurant, two bars, nice pool and a spa. Beautiful looks on the Irrawaddy river. Rooms are spacious. The only problem are the ever present mosquitoes but hotel is doing everything to fight them. We enjoyed the stay very much.

Allow me to break this down so you know what to expect.
Location: 5 stars, this hotel is situated in old Bagan amungst the Temples and Pagodas. This makes it very convenient to check out the temples for a sunrise. In addition to the conveinence of the location, the hotel has a stunning view of the river which is nice for sunset. The property is well maintained and a beautiful quite place to be.

The Rooms: 4 Stars, I say this kniwing many would disagree. Keep in mind you are in a small town in a country which until recently was isolated from much of the world. You are not in a city, you are not in a Hilton. Throw those expectations out the window and you won't be disappointed. The water was hot, the AC can run all day, and the rooms are kept clean. If you book your room out if season and through a third party site you can get a good deal. $56 a night is what we paid. If they update some of the furnature and conduct minor rehabilitation/remodeling of the rooms I would give them 5 stars.

The amenities: 5 stars for availability, 4 Stars for price and quality. If you ask for t they probably have what your looking for her. E Bikes for rent, pool to swim in, spa for massages and a hotel restaurant for meals. The food is ok but you would be far better off checking out some of the stuff in town. The price of all things in the hotel is more expensive than anything out in town. The pool is nice and the spa is unique, quiet and clean. However make sure you know what a Burmese massage is before you get one. I enjoyed it, wife and friend did not.

The staff: 5 stars hands down! They are friendly as are all the Burmese people I encountered. They do their jobs and they do them well.

With that I give this hotel 5 stars.
It's easy to toggle between 4 and 5 stars but like I said don't think American or European luxury hotel and you will enjoy your stay.
