BaobaBed Hostel ,Bagan

This is a great hostel, recently renewed. The dorms are spacious and very clean and comfortable. Each bed has curtains, power socket, lamp. The breakfast included is great and the menu a changes every morning. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They offer complimentary bikes and there’s a place for ebike rentals across the street with very convenient prices. The rooftop pool is great and there is a nice common area on the second floor. The coffee and food from the bar is good and not expensive. The location is great to explore the temples in Bagan. All in all, really recommend this place!!

Great hostels, super helpful, amazing roof bar and pool (closes sadly at 9pm). Nice double room only not that warm of a shower. At this moment 11/2018 constructions next to it. They have an early check in room and a nice welcome lounge/reception. Free bikes and e-bikes for rent across the street. Great location and an epic stay in Bagan ❤

Really enjoyed our stay at BaobaBed.The double with private bathroom is spacious and comfortable. Tasty breakfast that changes each day, free bike rental, free water refill, tea and coffee etc. All around good atmosphere. Plenty of opportunities to meet other travellers, we joined the sunset e-bike tour one evening. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent. As of June 2018, the hotel has been completely renovated by the Baobabed team. Our group of 5 did the soft opening. It was an extremely comfortable stay. Kai's team took great care of us and are genuinely kind.
The dorms are just designed well for the backpacking traveler. There's space to lay your things around the mattress, the rooms and bathrooms are spotless. And there's even a big space downstairs for socializing with your fellow travellers.

Apparently they will open a 3rd floor and a pool rooftop, which will only add to this already comfortable place.
From the hotel, you're just a few minutes bicycle ride from the old Bagan's temples.. Happy times!

Oh and they've got *great coffee!

One of the best hostel we stayed at:
_Friendly and helpful staff: we had forgotten something in the hostel and the staff sent it back to us.
_Spacious common spaces including a rooftop pool and a bar where you can easily meet other backpackers
_Close to temples and old bagan: 10min ride with electric scooters which you can rent in front of the hostel. The hostel also provide free bicycles.

Came to this hostel with low expectations, however this hostel surpass all of my expectations. We were able to check-in at 9 am, leave our bags, and nap in a separate area. The dormitory and bunkbeds are clean and comfortable with plenty of space. There are separate shower and bathroom areas, which is fantastic and uncommon. Usually the bathroom and showers are together, and when you go use the toilet, your shoes or your feet will get wet. Private rooms are available, which we were luckily able to get for 1 night when we extended on our last night (book in advance if you want a private room, these are in high demand). Pirvate room was also very good, clean, and showers were very hot and high pressure.

Staff is super friendly and very helpful. There is a large open concept check-in reception with pool and foosball table. The reception area also has coffee tables, bench seating and small coffee shop to order food and drinks (there is also a free self serve coffee and tea, and a water dispenser on the 1st floor). Another plus for the facility area free organized events hostel by the staff. Staff also arranged a half day bicycle tour for us.

We went on the free sunset and sunrise trip (a must do), just have rent an e-bike from across the street for 3000mmk. The rooftop pool and bar is definitely a highlight of the hotel. You do have to shower before you get into the pool and the shower is cold, which not a big deal since it's pretty hot year round. The rooftop area does close at 10 p.m., but you can take your drinks down to the lobby area and continue drinking. Buffet breakfast is served on the rooftop.

Definitely high-value for all the amenities and services. Definitely will book again.

-Rooms and toilets are clean every day.
-You can wash your cloths for a very reasonable price.
-Quite place. Especially during night time because they turn off the lights of the rooftop so nobody is having a party in the swimming pool / bar after 10pm.
-Good Internet connection.
-Best views in the area!!!
-Good restaurants and local market around.
-10% discount to stay in the other BaobaBed Hostels (Yangon, Inle Lake...)

Great hostel. Room (private double) was very nice and clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Free bikes and other services are also great. The pool and bar is ideal for cooling down after a day at the temples

Staff 100% they go above and beyond! Location is great! Near an amazing veggie one dish only place 1000 kyat for food soup and tea. And the pool is a must in the middle of the day between trips out to pagodas. Would stay here again and again! Also drinks are reasonably priced and happy hour is long.

Excellent.Great atmosphere.
They organize game night, free sunrise and sunset tour everyday. Lots of chance to meet others, breakfast is basic but nice. Only downside I could think of is they don't offer very hot shower which city girl loves.

I have to say that this is one of the best hostels that i have ever stayed in Asia. The quality and services are amazing. The staff are a superb especially Kai. I had an amazing time for the four days i was here, met loads of super interesting people.

ROOMS
I stayed in a private room. The room is of hotel quality very new with all the modern amenities that you would expect from a hotel room. From the mini bar to the free in-room tea, coffee & water i felt never without. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with an amazing power shower.
Even though i did not get the chance to stay in the dorm rooms i did get the opportunity to have a sneak peak and wow… individually curtained beds with light & plug inside, your own slice of privacy at a hostel…. bliss.

COMMON AREAS
From the moment you arrived the huge patio windows invited me into this hostel. On the ground floor they have a foosball table, pool table, restaurant / cafe.
The top floor is where it all happens in the evenings. Here you’ll find the rooftop bar & pool. (yes a pool in a hostel). This is also where you will go for the complementary free breakfast that caters for all needs from noodles to fruit and fresh eggs its a great hostel breakfast.

SERVICES
The 24 hour reception was always happy to help with all my questions during my stay. They offer bus booking, free bicycle rental, tour booking. you'll find e-bike rental across the road for the trips to the temple. They also offer a free sunset trip to the temples.

LOCATION
Located just outside old bagan its perfectly places right in the middle between the town and the temples. Lots of restaurants are around and its a short walk or cycle to old bagan.

Did not stay here but wish we did. Extremely friendly staff and super cheap prices for food and drinks. The local dishes may not be quite as good as nearby restaurants but for their prices, they’re great! Swimming pool accessible for non-guests for 5,000 kyats - towel also provided for shower access afterwards. Great place to kill some time, cool down and have a feed before an overnight bus.

Facilities are clean and new, with friendly staff.
They offer free sunrise and sunset tours. There was a motorcycle rental shop in front of the hostel.
It was a very pleasant and comfortable hostel.

What can I say about this place! It’s just like home! The staff are so incredibly friendly, especially the manager Zue Zue who will make sure your stay is perfect! They have daily free sunrise and sunset tours by ebike and often even make sunset boat cruises on the river! You will easily make friends there. The place is incredibly spacious and clean with huge space in the dorm beds and delicious breakfast in the morning is included. There are loads of showers with hot water and strong WiFi also available! Why wouldn’t you wanna stay here!

Perfect place to stay in Bagan, quite a new hostel with very friendly staff, good breakfast and swimming pool on the roof. So many nice restaurants nearby. Well located with handy e-bikes available from next door - these can get you everywhere you need in Bagan!

I visited this hostel few months ago. I was really satisfied with the hostel.

Staffs are all fluent in English.
Staffs are really sweet and kindly arrange our one-day taxi/tuk tuk drivers.
They have free thanaka, free logyi rent service,free bicycle rent service, free cigar and more.
They kindly explain great pagodas to visit and their Bagan map is very useful!

Good hostel based in the middle of Bagan. You can rent ebikes across the road for around 6,000 kt per use or 8,000 kt if there are two people on the bike.

There are usually hostel volunteers who help organise group trips to popular sunrise/sunset spots for free!

The reception staff can also book onward travel for you too. Usually JJ Express buses are the most comfortable

Superb place to stay in Bagan! Free breakfast on the rooftop, pool, tourist help, nice dorms and bathrooms, and a great location to explore Bagan and surroundings! They offer free sunrise/sunset tours and other events too.

If you’re in Bagan to explore Temples and Pagodas by E-Bike, this is the place to go. You can conveniently rent one of the more recent ebikes that go a bit faster than the older models. The shortcut to acces the best still climbable temples for sunrise is right next to the hostel and trust me, you’ll be glad for every minute you safe in the morning. 😅 also, the rooftop pool is amazing and you can get a proper italian espresso here.
