The Koe Thaung Pagoda is a majestic unfinished temple outside the town of Mrauk U, towards the east. The main entrance of the pagoda complex faces east, like almost all of the Mrauk U Kingdom period temples. The southern side of the pagoda showcases the numerous little stupas on its walls. The vaulted corridors which you can walk in the southern, western, and northern sides of the pagoda are intricately carved with thousands of Buddha carvings, lending the name 90,000 Buddhas, or Koe Thaung. Check out this place during sunset.

This is for sure one of the best sites to visit in Mrauk U! Really amazing temple, with very nice Buddha images all around it disposed in a narrow corridor! You can feel the energy from this place and maybe luckly find some monks walking arround it. It is a little bit far away from the main track, but is a must see place! DON,T MISS IT!

View from Koe Thaung Pagoda will inevitably take your breath away. It's a dazzling place. It was built up of 90,000 brick blocks which blew my mind. Highly recommend to visit this Pagoda when you reach Rakhine state. 🌄🤍

One of the must-see while in Mrauk U. Currently under renovation so sadly half of the structure is off-limit.

Mrauk U is one of the most beautiful place in Myanmar. Koe Thaung Pagoda (90000 pagodas) is largest Temple in Mrauk U. This place will take your breath away. I mean, It's a amazing and wonderful temple at all.

Koe-Thaung is the largest temple in Mrauk U, Rakhine, Myanmar. Koe-Thaung means "Temple of 90000 Buddha images". This temple will build between 1554 and 1556 by King Dikkha.
