ITC Lodge

This is a nice and affordable place to stay for a few days while exploring the Isalo National Park. The rooms are small but very cozy with nice decor. The staff is friendly and proficient in English, and the views are extraordinary.

Great hotel. The entire staff will make sure you'll have a great time at the national park. They organized a guide for us, the next day we mentioned we would've liked a nature guide, they made it happen. The owners are very friendly too and you can tell they hire like-minded people. Highly recommended!

Ten nice chalaet with space three kilometers from Isalu National Park. They are clean, have a large shower. Each chalet has its own water heater and warm water arrives quickly. Resources are are very scares in Ranohira an Jacob the owner does the best to provide great service under this circumstances. The owner is running some ecological projects like tree planting and ecological washing places to protect the river.

I stayed with my girlfriend at ITC and it was an amazing experience!! The owner Jacob was helpful with his recommendations and supported us in many ways. He helped organise our traveling, gave us great tips on where to go in Rahonira as well as other parts of Madagascar. He also made the effort of calling guides, transportation, and other activities! in addition, ITC Lodge is well located centrally close to everything in the city, and the huts were comfortable with plenty of hot water!
I highly recommend you stay at ITC Lodge for the support, comfort, and the ease of communication as Jacob is fluent in English and French. To top that you will be contributing to their NGO initiative to reforest the National Park, as the areas outside the reserve have been cut for diverse uses and they have started a reforestation initiative to maintain the city and animal life!!

Great place of a very friendly owner. Right next to the park entrance with nice views and a great restaurant. Makes the most out of your Isalo trip!

Maybe the only budget option with electricity/charging capability and hot showers in the area. Electricity till midnight and from 6a to mid morning with a plug in the room. Comfortable enough for the price. There are tenrecs in the ceiling that are very loud at night and early in the morning so if you're a light sleeper they'll keep you up. That's probably going to be a potential issue anywhere though.
The owner is very friendly and runs an NGO trying to regrow forests in the area. Really great to hear about the progress they're seeing!
Located just down the road from the Isalo park ticket office and the town square (shops and local restaurant options) but about an hour walk or a pricey drive to the park entrances.
No wifi in the room and it didn't work great in the restaurant but that's the case many places around the country. The restaurant is a separate business but also helps the hotel guests some and has good food. Loved the pumpkin soup!

Not bad and seemed to be a popular hangout, close to park office and (what there is of) town. Chez Alice around the corner better, but further away. WiFi only in one strange stop and next to towns generators that hum all night/day (a further bungalow it did not bother me). Restaurant okay. Could use some music. English spoken and friendly owners.

Prima huisjes met paradijselijk uitzicht op een van de mooiste nationale parken van Madagaskar! Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Isalo tochten te regelen bij Momotrek op hetzelfde terrein of bij de infobalie van het nationaal park zelf om de hoek. De eigenaren houden zich bezig met allerlei mooie projecten zoals herbebossing en Jacob, de Nederlander van het eigenarenstel, heeft hier veel interessants over te vertellen. Kortom een aanrader!

Het hotel word gerund door een Nederlandse man en zijn Malagasy vrouw wie zich beiden erg inzetten voor de omgeving. Zo hebben ze o.a. op het terrein een reforestation project op gezet en zijn ze bezig met het uitbreiden van het nabije "ziekenhuis". Al het water wat aan het einde van het seizoen wordt aan de bewoners van het dorp gegeven. Deze betrokkenheid maakt het erg fijn om hier te verblijven. Dan neem je de niet werkende toilet (die gerepareerd werd, toen we er naar vroegen) voor lief. Wel was het jammer dat de wc deur vanbinnen niet dicht wilde.

Huisjes waren voor de rest prima. Precies alles wat je nodig had. dus zeker een aanrader om hier te verblijven.

Goede Hollandse gastheer. Leuke bungalows. Mooi en gezellig restaurant en lekker gegeten.

Mauvaise expérience, mauvais rapport qualité prix .
