iFilan Carpets Gallery & Store

Taoufik made us fall in love with a gorgeous Berber carpet. We could not found a better one and live a lovelier buying experience. He sent it overseas to Mexico and it arrived earlier than us! I hope I can visit Fez again and wont miss going to iFilan.

I’ve been wanting to write this review for a while and wanted to make sure I did my experience at iFilan justice. We bought two small carpets which since then have been beautifully displayed in our home with every guest complimenting their beauty and craftsmanship! Taoufik, was perhaps the kindest store owner we met in Morocco and for a people known for their hospitality, that’s saying something. He is a wonderful storyteller. Ask him about why Berber women make carpets and he’ll weave you an incredible tale! His prices were the best in the market too. 100% recommend this store. We had a small hand carry (ryanair) and he made sure two carpets would be packed compact enough to fit without fretting over luggage space.

What a wonderful new shop in Fes! Taoufik and Fleur are committed to supporting local artists and exhibiting a curated collection of Moroccan arts and crafts, new and old. They have a lovely collection of jewelry, including some great Touareg and Berber pieces. They threw a great opening party.

I would recommend anyone that wants to buy an authentic Berber carpet to come here. Not only for the quality of the material but also for the human experience. Taoufik is an honest man who is more interested in explaining you about the Berber culture and the art of carpet making rather than making a profit from you.
We had a very pleasant interaction. We just bought a small carpet but if we would ever need a bigger one we would come back here!

If you want to have an authentic experience in Fés I definitely recommend this place. It does not only have a lot of colorful and beautiful berberian carpets, but Taoufik will make you fall in love with the history of all of them! He will explain the meaning of the fabric textures if you would like to listen. At the end it was hard to decide which one to choose, and we bought a small carpet. Looking forward to coming back there in case we need another one!

Taoufiq has a real passion for his product, is a good storyteller and gave me a great price on a good-quality berber rug. There’s also a beautiful exhibition with berber jewelry managed by his wife. Received a warm welcome and left happy. Would recommend!
