Terrible experience, do not rent from here.

We utilized Carjet to rent from Thrifty, but upon arrival at Rabat Airport, we were directed to the Dollar Rent-A-Car counter. Despite our search, we eventually located the counter, which turned out to be operated by Hertz.

Unfortunately, the reserved car was unavailable as it was undergoing maintenance. This led to a 30-minute wait. The counter attendant then insisted on an additional warranty fee of 360 euros for extended coverage, promising it would be refunded. After some negotiation, we reluctantly agreed, as declining would have left us without a vehicle.

Upon receiving the key, we proceeded to the car in the parking lot. Disappointingly, the fuel level was not as agreed upon in the contract; it was only around 75% full. We were informed that we could return the car with the same fuel amount.

The following morning, we discovered the entire backseat of the car was infested with ants. We made efforts to eliminate them.

Throughout our vacation, the car performed well, with no technical issues, collisions, or additional scratches.

Upon return at the same parking lot, an employee claimed there was a fuel level problem: it was at 6/8 instead of the required 7/8. I pointed out that it was roughly the same as when we received the car. This situation was uncomfortable, especially considering I had initially requested a full-to-full fuel agreement. We eventually concluded the return process, and I was required to provide a signature.

Leaving the car behind, we entered the airport. Unexpectedly, two employees approached us at the check-in counter, urgently asking for the parking ticket received upon entering the lot. We were unaware of its location and questioned why they hadn't requested it during the car return process. They appeared slightly panicked, emphasizing the necessity of the ticket. While we suspected we had left it in the car, we weren't entirely certain. (Upon reaching home, we found the ticket in our bag; however, the chaotic and tense atmosphere at the check-in counter made it difficult to recall.)

Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against renting a car in Morocco through Carjet, Thrifty, Dollar Rent-A-Car, or Hertz. The service provided was consistently poor across these options, resulting in unexpected additional costs.

Extremely bad experience.
I rented a car from Thrifty at Rabat Airport for a period of days. At the time of rental, I was advised by a representative named Yassine to purchase additional insurance to cover potential costs in case of an accident, ensuring I wouldn't be held responsible for any expenses. This information was explicitly communicated to me at the Rabat Airport Thrifty/Hertz car rental counter.

Upon returning the vehicle, I encountered a language barrier with the representative at the airport, who did not speak English. Trusting in the insurance coverage I had purchased and the information provided by the staff during the rental process, I assumed there would be no further actions required on my part. To my surprise, while attempting to check in for my flight to London, the same staff member seized my passport at the check-in counter, accompanied by local police who did not intervene or question the situation. Confused and concerned, I followed the staff member to the rental counter, where he insisted I sign a blank document under the threat of withholding my passport. This incident occurred despite the presence of local authorities and raised serious security and procedural concerns.

It is crucial to note that the insurance offered at the rental counter does not provide adequate coverage, and the associated documentation is often presented in French, making it challenging for customers to fully comprehend what they are signing. Based on my experience, it appears that many car rental agencies in Morocco may engage in deceptive practices, potentially involving credit card misuse and questionable contractual agreements. I strongly advise caution and careful consideration before choosing to rent a vehicle from such establishments in Morocco.
