This was my first long awaited trip to Morocco and I loved every minute of it! The Riad is beautifully and authentically fitted out and decorated, the rooms are comfortable and well equipped and don't worry if you've forgotten something Jan the owner will have already thought of it for you and it will appear as if by magic!!
Jan and Rachid the owners are so welcoming, helpful and friendly!
The food is wonderful, I'm not vegetarian but would happily become one if I ate like this every day!
The Riad is perfectly located for wandering around the souk, but away from any noise, and don't worry, you'll only get charged local prices as they all know that Jan will come and speak to them if you're overcharged!😁. A short (very inexpensive) rowing boat trip will take you across the river into Rabat where you can visit the Kazbah, the Costume museum, Rabat souk and much more.
I've already booked a return trip in October 2024, and can't wait to get there

This was a holiday of pure authenticity, living in the heart of the Medina. The Repose was a wonderful place to stay with absolutely delightful hosts who looked after us immensely well. The roof terrace was a wonderful place for breakfast and evening meals. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I stayed at The Repose a few years ago and forgot to leave a review - this is a wonderful oasis in the old city and Jan and Rachid are master hosts. Breakfast on the rooftop is simply divine and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. I cannot wait to return.

Very well-run, reasonably priced, riad in a non-touristy part of Rabat, worth staying for two nights. The food lived up to expectations and was the highlight of my stay here: the sumptuous breakfast and the 4-course vegetarian dinners will remain one my fondest memories of my stay Morocco. As is often the case in old Moroccan houses, my room on the ground floor (the African room) was a bit damp, so I had to turn on the AC to make it feel drier inside. I imagine this would not be as much of a problem if you stay here in the warmer months of the year.

Simply an amazing experience. After the chaos of the big cities, The Repose is like a little oasis that we never thought we would find.

We were greeted with plates of fruits and cakes, mint tea, and a selection of coffee and hot chocolate. We were hesistant because we assumed we would be charged later for whatever we accepted, but it was offered in the true spirit of hospitality without expected payment.

The rooms were beautiful. The terrace is relaxing and a comforting get away from the hussle and bustle of the city. And the beds - the beds! I had the best night sleep of my two weeks in Morocco, although this was probably assisted by the incredible massage I received for only 200 dirhams.

The location is not ideal, but not to worry, the owners will assist you in finding a low cost private taxi that will pick you up at the door. We were also picked up at the train station by a taxi arranged by the hotel.

There is so much to say about this place. The rose pedals on our bed, the constantly replaced chocolates on our pillows, the amazing staff and the welcoming owners. Needless to say, highly recommended!

Staying at a Riad can sometimes be a misleading experience where the photos look better than the place itself. It is unusual when one finds that reality is even better than listes - and boy is it the case with the Repose!

Jan and Rachid are the warmest, most welcoming hosts you can imagine - and then some. Nothing is too demanding, and they go out of their way to accommodate your every whim. The place is immaculately clean, with a truly Moroccan style to it but with a modern touch. I absolutely fell in love with the mosaic centrepiece - it is truly a work of art. It commands price of place and everything else seems to flow around it..

The food - this is not a place where you get the standard run of the mill food - this is more like a Michelin restaurant with one of those chefs who seems to create not only sublime tasty food, but a spectacle for the eye too. Truly creative, unusual food, which changes every day, but presented with a lot of flair. I have several allergies but nothing was too much to ask for!

It shows when the staff are happy - they not only are ready to help - but seem to anticipate your needs before you have them!

Rooms are comfortable and well thought out - they have been fitted with all the modern necessities such as air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms - but without disrespecting the age and history of the old building!

Cons - none, except that I suggest you do not do as I did and drive into the street where the Repose is - the road is wide enough form the port side but then narrows to and path just over a meter wide. So just park the car at the guarded car park at the begining of the street on the main road on the waterside - 20 MAD covers parking for one night with a guardian.

So a truly beautiful and happy place - a place that becomes a highlight of your holiday - Well Done!

This vegetarian hotel/riad is amazing. We dined every night on seemingly endless five course meals that were entirely vegan. Very cosy and beautifully decorated. We loved eating breakfast on the terrace each morning too. Excellent service and excellent cooks. We were also given a phone with WhatsApp to conveniently request things if needed. Highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely amazing riad. Very nicely decorated and the staff is very nice.

The food is delicious as well (around 200 DH for a full course).

I've seen many riads in Morocco, and this was by far the nicest looking one.

One of the nicest places I have ever had the pleasure to rest my head. To that end, I would highly recommend staying here.

On another note I can not see why Ms Durant decided to blemish The Reposes name by giving it Two Stars. The looks and feel of the place alone far surpasses the insult of such a bad review.

The Repose is 5/5, trust me.

This place is really like an oasis in the desert. The owners are extremely helpful and they make you feel like home. Rooms are charming, like the fountain in the main hall.
