This restaurant was a part of a food tour and delicious it was! We had lamb, chicken, and sea bass all well flavored and roasted perfectly. Service was great with the waiters quick to refill and resupply table with utensils, bread and water. And beautiful atmosphere coupled with live Moroccan music and gorgeous decor. 100% recommend. A gem in a hidden place.

The food which was some of the best we had during our 10 day trip is only part of the experience. The service and atmosphere is second to none. It’s like having dinner inside a historic building. The renovation they did is just amazing. And then the fact that they strive for such great service and the owner is right there to great each diner! The story of a place like this with the history of Jews and muslims living in peace side by side needs to be told more nowadays! BTW the leg of roasted lamb and the Moroccan salads were great. Out of everything the calf liver salad was my favourite!

A small door in the old city, it is a remarkably beautiful restaurant in an old synagogue. Food outstanding. The pigeon pastilla was gorgeous and yes, it does come with icing sugar on top, but if you're going to do Moroccan you're going to do icing sugar eventually! The prawns and salads worked well and the pumpkin one spiced with cinnamon and cardomom stood out.

Then there was the lamb shoulder. Slow, slow cooked it was fabulously tender, and had enough crispy bits on the outside that we didn't have to fight over them... much... The veg tossed in garlic butter was (apparently) very good.

Our waiter was attentive and friendly. They had some almost decoration staff whose role was to give some local vibe and a bit of banter.

Anyway, summing it up, a great restaurant with some stunning decorations. Look it up if you're in town.

Dar El Kaid is one of the best spots in Casablanca to live the Moroccan food experience, Starting with the beautiful Riad and its rooftop, to the great musicians playing arab and Moroccan songs and finally the food, the prices are a bit expensive but the whole package is worth it. Shout-out to the servers and their professionalism and the owner. There's also a professional belly dancer that comes from time to time dancing on different songs. I highly recommend this place for tourists and moroccan people who want to taste Moroccan dishes.

Nicely decorated restaurant in Medina of Casablanca.
Tried Ramadan Iftar menu yesterday. Too much sweets and fries, looked very moroccan :)
Tajine was good.

Had a very pleasant evening here with a group of friends. Food was excellent and the belly dancer was oddly fitting for the environment. The decor and setting were impressive while snugly situated inside the markets.

This hidden gem of a real Moroccan restaurant is within the old Medina, so you have to go inside to get to it. Going in from the Ave des FAR side, there is a large sign directing you there. Once you go in, it's another world. You leave the scrubby, simple look of the Medina and are in a beautiful, polished, multi-level Riad style interior, with beautiful decor and ultimate quietness. They have a place to take reservations on their web site, but for our night there was plenty of room (we ate a little earlier than the busy time).

The food was *outstanding*, the tangines seasoned and cooked to perfection. The breads were amazing and the olives (both green and black pressed into a paste) equally great. Service was good and there's little to say in the negative about this place.

So glad we looked it up when we were in Casablanca, and it's highly recommended both for the food and for the atmosphere of having to walk even just a little through the bustling Old Medina to get to it. Definitely consider it for some really great Moroccan-based food!

11.6.23 Great resturant! We were so lucky to find it by accident becase we just came out of the old medina at evening and were looking to eat some dinner and just used google maps and saw this resturant just 50m from us😁. Very beautiful and new moroccan resturant. Great decoration, hospitality and service. The food was amazing, not less !!! Really reminded us home. Everything was so tasty. We will come back for sure. Thank you.

Very good food and atmosphere. The waiters were lovely and attentive without being annoying. It’s a beautiful restaurant and definitely worth visiting. It’s hidden inside the Medina but worth searching for (or ask a local and they’ll take you to the door). The live music is also lovely.

Best hidden restaurant in the heart of the Medina of Casablanca. It was a really authentic experience with the food, the dancer and the service. Really don’t judge the place by the location and just go there.
