The land that is now United Nations Square was the site of a large market outside the city walls before colonization. The clock tower was built in 1908 by order of the French commander Dessigny, next to the wall of the old city, so the square was called “Place de l’Horloge”, then it was called “Place de France” with the development of the surrounding area by architects who They were commissioned by Hubert Lyautey and the Residence-General to plan the new European city, most notably Henri Proust and Michel Acuchague. The square became a bus stop, and a globe designed by architect Jean-François Zivaco was built. The square changed with the construction of the tramway, which has an important stop at United Nations Square.

Casablanca stands as a contrasting city that carries together the past and is looked upon as the future of tomorrow. The French architecture and the blend of its old medina's rawness takes it all! Have to say, as my friend told me - it takes time to fall in love with Casablanca.

The best time to frequent this place is Sunday morning around 8 am. It's super quiet, clean, and easy to find parking. Other than that, stay away as it gets loud, dirty, and unaccessible.

Impeccable after the facelift..square is a the beating heart of the city ..you can simply go for a walk ..watch a live music band or simply have a drink ..enjoy a pizza in Med 5 blvd and/or visit the old medina surroundings shops and souvenirs it is worth the detour. Starting point a nice coffee at the emblematic Cafè de France

Very lively colorfull square in the heart of the city.

One of the most promiment squares in Casablanca. Here you can truly see why does this city bares its current name (spanish - White Home). Its also an acess point to a municipal square, boardwalk, medina enterance, etc.

A nice relaxing time and plenty of shops and coffee shops to visit

Modern square has a good access with tram, meeting point. Surrounded by shops and banks, near the Clock tower and entrance to medina of Casablanca

To feel the culture you have to visit and just watch the movement cicle of people

A small but very beautiful square, in the heart ❤ of The "Roches Noires" quarter. Casblanca Morocco. A place where you can relax, meditate 🧘‍♂ and even workout for free. Excellent Place! Loving ❤ it!

Stayed at a very very fancy hotel nearby for the 5th time in 2 years but this tome had a very very bad surprise: my room was infested with coakroaches
