Wow. Best meal we have had in Morocco and, frankly, one of the best meals we have had anywhere in our many travels. We had harira soup, lamb shank with apricots, and pastilla with chicken and fruit. Perfectly balanced flavors and perfectly cooked, and all came with delightful and friendly service. It is not a touristy place but seek out the door and knock if you like excellent and special food at a reasonble price.

Absolutely amazing! Best Chicken Tagine we had so far on our Marocco Trip. Very friendly service. Great food. Def the place to eat when in Rabat.

Wonderful meal in the Medina area. The owners are incredibly kind.

The couscous dishes are massive and perfect for sharing. The caramelized onions on top are so deep and full of flavor. Highly recovering the chicken cous cous, and don’t forget to use the sauce you can pour over.

The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and cozy. Prices are a bit higher than other places but consistent with restaurants in the Medina area.

When we arrived they were closed, despite google maps showing them as open. The owner must have seen us out in the street and came out to explain he was out of lamb and some other dishes. He said if we didn’t mind ordering other items he would seat us. Which was a relief.

In the backstreets of the Medina... you need to stop and discover this restaurant. Wonderful place with authentic decoration and Moroccan meals. Waiters are very welcoming. Great ratio price/quantity/quality.

A very cozy, comfortable setup with quality authentic food. Despite the food taking a little while, it was well worth the wait. I would recommend the chicken almond pastilla and lamb apricot tagine. 9/10

Delicious food and warm and friendly service in a beautiful and comfortable setting. Had the lamb shank with apricot tajine and a pastille on recommendation. A bit expensive but one of my favourite places to have a meal during my trip - worth seeking the place out

Delicious meal, really very good and we will gladly visit again. It's a small family type restaurant and probably not realistic to expect 5 star service (but they are warm and friendly.)

The restaurant has the Moroccan style I like with the zelige. Their Chicken Tagine with couscous was delicious. The service was great 👍. Highly recommend this restaurant.

A very cute family run restaurant in Rabat! Compare to other restaurants, if you’d prefer something less touristy, simpler and quieter, this is the place to go! Food is in generous portions and delicious!

Dar Zaki is a great little restaurant on a quiet street in the medina of Rabat, providing an exceptional gastronomic experience that seamlessly blends amazing Moroccan flavors with fresh ingredients.

A friend and I wandered in to Dar Zaki one afternoon, our stomachs rumbling with hunger. The smell of the food being delivered to the tables nearby immediately confirmed we had made the right choice for our lunch. We were drawn in by the design of the restaurant, as walking through the archway entrance, felt exciting and intrigued us for what lay inside. The interior of the restaurant is just as beautiful, with warm yellow walls and red and brown accents. Pillows lined some of the booths, adding comfort and authenticity to the Moroccan flair.

But Dar Zaki doesn’t just look great; the food tastes great, too! I enjoyed a warm bowl of Harira soup, the lamb and lentils perfectly softened by the broth. My friend dove into a crispy, yet delicately flaky Pastilla, and declared that Dar Zaki knows how to make the traditional dish right.

For entrees, we each ordered a beef tangine. Served right from the earthenware dish, these meals were more than satisfying. I chose the beef tangine with fried aubergine, perfectly crispy on the outside, meaty and tender on the inside. My friend raved about the beef tangine with prunes, as the bittersweet flavor of the fruit paired excellent with the meat.

The atmosphere and service was so welcoming, we stayed and conversed over dessert. We chose from a selection of sweet Moroccan cakes, as well as a sliced orange with cinnamon. My friend even devoured some orange and carrot soup, before I even got a chance to taste it! She said it was just too good. I highly recommend Dar Zaki for an authentic Moroccan dining experience.

Again you just never know what's behind a non described door in Morocco. You may have some difficulty finding this place in the Medina, so I've tried to update Google map with its location as best as I can! Once you get to this small Rue, look out for the yellow sign pointing to a yellow metal gate. Knock n someone will open the door. It's all very hush hush:-)

This is a typical Dar in the Andalusian/Moorish style, serving great Moroccan food. Must try the targines, definitely one of the best I have tasted so far.

A bit expensive for Morocco's prices and the service might be a bit slow but you'll be rewarded with great food. Loved their lamb tajine with eggplants!

Located in an alley in the Medina, this small restaurant offers good quality Moroccan food. Chicken apricot tagine and chicken amande pastille were delicious and flavorful. We like the tea as well. The owner was nice. I'll definitely recommend it to others!

Absolutely gorgeous. Delicious food. A bit difficult to find as google is not very accurate on the map, and sometimes door is closed but you just need to knock to get in. So glad we found this place. Definitely worth the visit if you're in Rabat

Don't forget to call them for a reservation.
The restaurant is typically moroccan with nice music on and lovely staff.
The meals are just so yummy...you won't get enough from them.
We tried chicken tagine with olives and with fried potatos . As for dessert, carrots with orange is so delicious.
You will just adore staying there.

The restaurant was amazing, it was hidden away from the main walk ways but what a find it was! Once we went inside it has a real Moroccan feel with the layout and architecture. Myself and my partner shared an amazing lemon chicken tagine and it was cooked beautifully. The meat fell off the bone which helped when eating it true Moroccan style with the bread. It was such an amazingly cooked meal, I would highly recommend a visit for a true taste of Morocco!

Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rabat and wanting traditional Moroccan food.
Excellent Bastilla. The Tagine Dial Djaj (Chicken, Olives, Preserved Lemons) was lovely. And a novel (but excellent) merguez couscous dish.
Beautiful inside and in the heart of the historic medina too.

Incredible Moroccan home cooking in a stunning setting. Don’t let the quiet back Street put you off, when you find this gem, the food is absolutely worth it. The Tagines are next level with a wonderful depth of flavour, beautiful salads to accompany and sumptuous deserts to finish off. Lovely welcoming service and a memorable meal. Shukran 🙏🏾
