Tiziri camp was the highlight of our trip to Morocco and a must see for any family. We started off with a 2-hr camel trek with a stop to see the sunset. Then, we reached camp, being greeted with mint tea and snacks. The cabins were beautifully furnished with handmade Moroccan goods in a simple, sophisticated fashion. It felt homey and luxurious at the same time. And the end suite bathroom and shower were more than we imagined.

Dinner and breakfast was some of the best food we had in the country. Tasty, modern takes on local cuisine. And the music and hospitality was amazing. We felt well taken care by the crew… from blankets and hot water bottles during the fire to being shown how to wear our scarves properly.

Lastly, we so appreciated the ecological focus… from solar panels to light the camp to reuse of water and food waste for surrounding plants and camel food. The attention to detail was so evident.

We’d 100% recommend this camp to everyone.

The entire staff is amazing. When my husband fell ill with a migraine (a chronic condition) and we had to leave the music early, the genuine concern on Yousef's face was surprising and heart warming to me. Thank goodness for the tip box in the restaurant, I was afraid I was not going to get to say goodbye tp all the staff that made our stay so wonderful.
The camp is incredibly luxurious. I wish we had booked more time. The tents are super comfortable and the food is excellent. The camel ride out took us far enough away from other camps so give us quiet night. Being this far from the city allowed for some star gazing, and we even saw some shooting stars.

We stayed at Tiziri for two nights and would recommend it. Tents are nicely decorated - beds are SO comfortable - and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always with a smile.

A few tips for those going:

1: Opt for the shorter sunset camel trek to camp (about 1-1.5 hrs) with car pickup - this was the perfect amount of time and we think any longer would be too long.

2: Leave time for stargazing after the music around the fire. On clear nights you can see so many and it is really amazing esp if you’re coming from a city. As far as the music goes - be prepared for it to be a little awkward and stilted around the fire but the guys are talented musicians and it’s nice to experience.

3: The dinner on night 2 is different from night 1 (and in our opinion, significantly better).

4: Buy some wine/beer before arriving if you want it during your stay - we did this and the camp was more than happy to accommodate (incl keeping things chilled for us)

5: If you’re going to do any activity, PLEASE do the sand bread demo. This was the most special and cool experience, and one of the highlights of our 11 days in Morocco. It does take some time so bring a book or be prepared to just relax during the process. We also did the 4WD excursion which was nice but probably less value for money as you feel a bit like you’re being shuttled from tourist location to tourist location.

6: Ask for your timings / schedule as we felt a little unsure at times whether we needed to be ready by a certain point.

My favorite place in Morocco. The environment is amazing and everyone helping out were the highlight of our trip. The food was good and the night vibe was the best part of it all. Everyone is so welcoming and everything is extremely organized which made everything even better. Can’t wait to go back

The Tiziri Camp was one of the main highlights of our Moroccan trip! Just the introduction to the camp at night after getting dropped off by camels was spectacular. Flaming torches led you to the center of the camp and we were greeted by the staff to which they proceeded in explaining everything the camp has to offer. The tents had everything you needed for a luxurious night stay, including heated blankets! The layout of the camp is designed to be very welcoming and community oriented, yet still very private. The staff, Mustafa, Mohammed, Youseff, Ahmed to name a few, were just phenomenal. They welcomed us in like family and did a great job in running the camp, as well as, sharing the ways of the Berber people. It was truly an experience that we will never forget!

Also - the whole ECO part of the camp was amazing and so well put together (solar electricity, solar heated water, compost, etc.)!

Incredible camp, so grateful for this experience. Calm and relaxing camel ride into the camp at sunset. The tents were very spacious and clean, and the beds were more comfortable than any of our hotels in Morocco. Lovely meals, and awesome drum show at night. Stay for at least two nights and take the excursions to explore the culture and history...we learned so much and will never forget this magical time!

My family (children ages 14 and 20), and two of our friends, stayed in Tiziri Camp for two nights over New Year’s Eve, and then went on a two-night Sahara Desert trek organized by the camp. While the location of the camp is stunning, it was the staff that really made the trip magical.

With all the warm easy-going personalities, and ever-present Berber sense of humor (don’t be afraid to play along!), it was a joy to be around camp. While we had a great day tour around the area, a more enduring memory is interacting with everyone at the camp: dancing and joking around the campfire at night, playing cards, attempting to sand board, and trying to make highlight reel jumps off sand dunes trying to catch a frisbee. The best experience of all, however, was listening to ‘Desert Blues’, a fusion of American Blues and North African music, played by the camp staff under the stars of the Sahara. Truly amazing!

The camp itself is small compared to other camps in the area, which contributes greatly to its charm. The tents are luxurious. Four of us stayed in one tent, which was a little crowded, but comfortable. However, with all the great open spaces around the camp outside, the tents were really only for sleeping. The food was a treat, a great change from our steady diet of nightly Tagines that had been our staple diet while in Morocco.

If you are up for an unforgettable adventure, take an overnight trek into the desert organized by the camp (we went for two nights). Be warned, though, it’s not for everyone. While the distances were not that long (we didn’t start walking until after 10 am and had 3 hr lunch breaks each day), and terrain largely flat (even when in the dunes), the pace is quick and the sand difficult to walk in at times. Our guides Hammid and Mohamed were amazing. Their knowledge of the desert, together with their sense of humor and cooking skills (food was great!) made the trek much more than just a walk in the desert. Watching them manage the camel personalities (hi Bob Marley!) was very much like a parent trying to keep their rambunctious children in line.

Our time at Tiziri Camp was the highlight of our trip to Morocco. My only regret is not staying there longer!

Wow! Tiziri Camp could not have been more perfect. We stayed for two nights where we celebrated bringing in the 2024 New Year! Everyone at the camp was brilliant. They were friendly, knowledgeable, funny and very kind. We sand surfed and played cards and had amazing evening bonfires complete with live desert blues music. Youssef drove us in the desert dunes and took us around to several towns near the camp. The ride was so fun!! He played music and told us all about the history of the location. Mustafa was the one who taught us how to sand surf and played frisbee with the teenagers we traveled with. His energy was fun and lovely. Ahmed was the manager and the one who played guitar and sang desert blues each evening. The music was truly mesmerizing! Nights I won’t soon forget under a blanket of trillions of stars! The food was also sensational! Every meal came with the freshest orange juice and there was always dessert and of course tea and snacks. In the mornings (because it was cold) they had heaters with coffee and tea in the dining tent. The rooms were incredibly beautiful as well. Heated blankets for the beds and cozy pillows welcomed us to sleep after the bonfire. The eco bathroom always had hot water and great shower pressure. Sunrises and sunsets over the dunes are breathtaking and the photos look like something out of a National Geographic shoot. If you’re thinking to go to Morocco definitely plan to stay at the Tiziri Camp! 💜

Everything was truly spectacular - we had such a wonderful experience at Tiziri Camp. The owners and staff truly made you feel like part of the family. Youssef, Mustafa, Hamid, Ahmed - everyone was wonderful. It is a smaller camp which makes the experience so much more intimate. They even have heating in the camps which is a luxury compared to other sites where I've heard people freeze all night in the winter months. We had a nice and toasty room, it was lovely.
The fire and music was incredible and definitely something we won't forget. We have two small children, ages 4 and 6, and everyone treated them as if they were their own. They even had the chance to play and make friends with the owner's child and the much loved pup of the camp.
On our full day at the camp, Youssef took us around on a tour of the area and then we finished the afternoon with dune buggies and a sunset camel ride led by Hamid. Incredible. A desert sunset in something else entirely.
Mustafa took care of all of our needs at the camp and in the restaurant which serves a multi course meal for breakfast and dinner. Everything was delicious!
Our two night stay at Tiziri was the absolutely highlight of our trip to Morocco. While we are a Moroccan/American family, it was a new experience for everyone and one that we will cherish forever. We cannot wait to go back!

One of the best experiences of my life. The team at Tiziri is attentive, knowledgeable and caring. They make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. The food is delicious, the beds are comfortable and desert is beautiful. The music under the stars is also a wonderful addition to the experience. The team even surprised my wife and I with a cake as it was our honeymoon. I can’t recommend Tiziri enough!

Tiziri exceeded my expectations. I prepared myself for a beautiful place - both the desert and the camp accommodations - but it is what you cannot see online that makes it exceptional. The hosts care about their guests and each other. They want to share their culture, not perform an idealized version for tourists. Their commitment to a sustainable camp is remarkable and responds to the impacts of climate change experienced by the Amizigh people. My only complaint is that I didn’t stay longer, but it allows the opportunity to return.

There are tents and camps and camps in merzouga and then there is Tizri camp with all its courteous service and luxury

We were booked through cultural morocco tours for a night

The two hour camel ride to the camp from their base office was great . Welcome warm and courteous . Both yousuf and Hasan were nice people .

The entire staff also doubled up on the night as our entertainers and we had a gala time around the 🔥 pit . Sun rises were breathtaking.

We really enjoyed staying at Tiziri camp.

It was not like staying at any hotel or riad...it was a genuine family experience. Hamed, Youseff, Mustafa, and the next level chef Ibrahim really made this experience like living with them as family. Special thanks to Youseff who took us around the nomad sites and the old coal mines and explain to us Berber and Morocan history.

Chef Ibrahim makes the best crepes. Best eaten with cream and honey. Amazing !!! The meals each day were different and he kept It interesting. We were well fed. Massive breakfasts and dinner every day.

At night time the Tiziri crew would entertain us with their cultural songs, music and drums. We got to try to play the drums and do some dancing. It was a lot of fun. I need to buy some drums and practice when we return here in the future.

We were super stressed out when we arrived after all the hustle bustle from Fez. After staying here for 2 nights I feel refreshed and alot happier.

Thanks all at the Tiziri camp :)

Beyond expectations! This was not my first time staying at a desert camp but Tiziri went above and beyond anything I experienced before.
The tents are so wonderful and the food incredible. But what sets them apart is the team working the camp. Hmad and his team made our group of 10 feel so welcomed and cared for during our stay. The music was great and Hmad had us up until the early morning (because we wouldn’t let him go to bed!) sharing stories under the stars.
An incredible 40th birthday experience and one I and my friends will never ever forget.

Anytime again! We traveled as 4 friends and started this tour with an open mind. The host and all the staff are extremely friendly, warm, open and helpful. First we were offered tea in a hotel until the tour with the camels could start in less heat. The ride was beautiful (with a stop at the sunset) and animal friendly.
The tent camp is luxurious and furnished with attention to detail. It is designed environmentally friendly with water filters and solar energy. The beds are very comfortable (with electric blankets), the tents spacious and beautiful.
The food was phenomenal. In the evening there was a perfect, on request also vegetarian 4 course menu that left no wishes unfulfilled. Also the breakfast was rich and delicious in all ways. You can tell that they cook with love - it's been a long time since I've eaten so well.
But the absolute highlight were the owner and his staff. In the evening there was a bonfire and Berber music. You got the feeling of watching friends at a band rehearsal and being allowed to celebrate with them. We sat with them until deep in the night at the fire, drank a bit and talked about culture, religion and ways of living. We learned a lot and are grateful for this also personal interchange. Book and music recommendations from the host included :)
The next day we went back through the desert in a 4x4 with good music.
We would have liked to stay longer. We were super comfortable, relaxed and recommend it to anyone. The people love what they are doing and let you be a part of it. We are very grateful to the team for a perfect and unique experience. Much love from Germany!!!

Hmad made a great experience for us as we spent the day hanging out with him as friends during our 4x4 excursion and I feel grateful he shared his life with us for that 24 hour period where I learned more about him, the nomadic lifestyle and the Berber customs. He arranged for quad bikes on short notice and even took us to a carpet store upon our request where I ended up purchasing a white Berber carpet similar to the ones used in the tents to remind me of the wonderful time I had. The beds were ultra comfortable and I woke up with a feeling of zen in the morning. The food was great. The shower was hot.

Stayed 1 night at the Tiziri Camp and absolutely loved it. Meals were included (wine available for purchase), comfy beds, incredible sunset views, and local berber music. Nights are cold but you are provided with heating blanket and plenty of covers. I highly recommend this camp for your next Sahara adventure!

Best experience in Morocco. If you are going to the desert, you want a once in a lifetime experience, which is what we had at Tiziri.

Lovely, hospitable and polite staff, who make you feel welcome and at home.

Delicious gourmet Moroccan food, under the stars.

5 star rooms with private showers and toilets. The bed was more comfortable than our hotels.

We stayed two nights and can safely say we wish we stayed longer.

Could not recommend more!
