Modern and well organized ferry port.

Just a ferry port but it was all clean and well organised. Shuttle buses take you to the terminal. Taxi needed to go elsewhere

This is the new modern port as opposed to the smaller port in Tangier proper. This port is a safer bet in times of bad weather. But always make certain that you know where your ferry is arriving or departing. Taxis will try to take tourist for a ride with exorbitant fares either way. Many ill try to charge up to 50 euros. There is a small bus just outside the Maritime terminal that costs only 10 dirham and drops you near the central train station and vice versa.

The Port Med terminal is very large and just before your departure a small (free bus) will take you to the vessel.

Beware of men with yellow reflector vests who try to fill out the custom card with your passport info. They only want a tip. You do not need their help. Thet are not official. You can get the customs form inside. Just walk past them into the terminal.

The port is located in Tangier, which is considered the main maritime gateway to Morocco overlooking the Mediterranean and is located at the junction of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea at the level of a bay between Cape Spartel and Cape Malabata, and is the largest port in Africa and the Mediterranean Sea. This unique and strategic location has long made Tangiers the first Moroccan port for passenger and international road traffic. And it was known for its regular lines linking it to various European ports: Green Island, Barcelona, ​​Tarifa in Spain, Sete and Marseille, the port of Wunder in France and Genoa in Italy.

And it is also characterized by the presence of a free zone located directly on its surfaces, which attracted shipments of high added value.

With the operation of the new Tangier-Med port, located 40 km east of Tangiers, nearly all of the port's traffic from Tangiers was gradually transferred from late 2008 until late 2010.

Work on the re-employment project for the port by the Tangiers Port Development Company began in 2010. It aims to give the port a new destination for cruise tourism and boat rides.

The port's re-employment and rehabilitation work that began in 2011 and will continue until 2016 will enable Tangier to become a leading destination for tourism.
