It’s a little town just distinct from what I saw in Morocco. They call it the Little Switzerland of Morocco.

Very beautiful here. Ifrane is like a small Switzerland in Morocco. The building style of houses, the street cafés and restaurants, the wealth you see in the people, their cars, their clothes, their manners - all very European. There is a lake there, with a recreation area, and everything is really relaxed.

A nice city, kinda looks like Switzerland, clean, cold (12 C max), I really appreciate it 😊

nice and calm place to avoid summer head in Fez...Should be a place to visit

Some friends and I made a trip to Morocco starting on October 11 to 18, 2022. Our first city was Marrakech, Ouzarte, Merzouga, Fes, Chaouen and then we stopped in Ifrane. After having passed through the High Atlas and the Reef it was refreshing to see this city.
It’s known for its alpine-style architecture and nearby ski slopes and forests. Also de climate is fresh.
A stone statue of a lion near leafy Parc la Prairie is a well-known landmark. It commemorates the last wild Atlas lion, which was shot near here in the early 1920s.

This is a historical landmark in Morocco and a very beautiful site to witness, the craftsmanship of this lion is too good and it's still well preserved.

This site is a tourist attraction and is just near about everything, the hotel, the cafés and the market, you can walk from anywhere really, besides Ifrane has mini taxis too if you don't wanna walk. But me as a southern backpacker I walk to consume all there is to see.

the city build like a alpine city' a lot of sky places so all the city looks like European place
It was carved by a German soldier during WORLD WIDE 2, when Ifrane was used briefly as a prisoner-of-war camp.
a lot of people trying to make photo with the lion it is something of a ritual for Moroccan day
all the area in nice with European style, parks to seat and enjoy the place, restaurants and cafe

Good, but packed with people due to it being the number one thing to be seen in Ifrane

The best tasting food and green tea I have so far on my 12 day trip highly recommend it

Inside La Prairie Park, there is a large granite statue in the shape of a resting lion, known as the Lion of Ifrane, with a length of up to 7 meters. Visitors come to the park to take unique memorial photos next to the statue. By a soldier, now it is taken care of by the city council, and it is constantly being restored

Nice small town with a feel of Switzerland. The stone carve lion was a great attraction for the tourists
