The Painted Rocks are one of the most memorable parts of the granite landscape of Tafraout. They were painted in 1984 by the Belgian artist Jean Verame as poetic artwork embodies attributed to his late wife, assisted with the help of the Tafraout fire department, 18 tons of blue, pink, red, and black paint were used to create this remarkable work of art, which today constitutes an open-air museum, with its sheer magnitude and unequaled artistic curiosity, which draws numerous tourists to the region.

It was more then I expected it to be. The painter did an unbelievable abount of work to create this. You must vistit it. its free

Very impressive site. I thought we'd see a few rocks, painted by some artist. Coming there I was surprised by the amount of colored rocks, boulders and stones. It's cool to walk through someone's piece of art.

One big issue with this place is the littering. There's plastic everywhere, ruining the site and the surrounding area. I call on every visitor to take a few pieces of rubbish and dump it in a trash can later. See it as the price to pay for this free piece of art.

Beautiful landscape and super cute to take pictures. The rocks aren't too difficult to climb so children can also enjoy. The place is clean and makes for a nice activity to do with your family.
