It requires time to explore. I suggest around 2-3 hours. There are several parts in the castle and if you have time, you will get a chance to dive into the history of this place.
It was renovated and it looks fantastic. I took my time there and also explored the surroundings which are really beautiful.
There is a person in every part of the castle who puts the hole on your entrance ticket; these holes allow you enter the section or the part of the place.
It is easy to get there from the center of the city and it is quite close. At the entrance to the castle there is a cafe where you can grab some food or drink.
You can pay extra and have a private guide or get an audio guide with a suitable language.
Don't miss walking around the castle. It is located next to the river and the views are fantastic!

been there many years ago - when it was only remains of the old castle.
Now it is completely rebuilt, also still keeping old heritage - well balanced exhibition, - very interesting to explore, filling all the needs of different types of tourists :)

A really beautiful castle and museum ...tells the story of the livland wars as many other castles..

This castle can stand on its own, but seeing other castles in the area will greatly enhance the feeling of the struggle in livland

Haven't been here since childhood (around 15 years), and it was such nice surprise what they did here. Ticket price is very low for what offered inside, you can read, feel and touch history all around. Addition to that very nice location and view.

Very nice and beautiful place. Entry ticket 5€ only. Loads of things to see. Must visit place if you are in Bauska. Loads of different exhibitions, proper old ruins, loads of renovated buildings. Friendly staff, speak Latvian, Russian and sometimes even English. Absolutely amazing place. You can go also with the kids. Can walk around the castle, along the river. Best time to visit - Latvian autumn. Trees around have millions of different colours, looks like you are on different planet. If you are there, somewhere not far from Bauska, you MUST to visit this place

Nice place for a walk and enjoy some medieval history! The castle is almost renovated and museum has a lot of interesting things to view. Completely different to Rundale Palace. Ticket is cheap and you can cover exhibition on one hour!

Worth a visit if you are exploring this region of Latvia. You can go up to the tower for a very small fee 1,5 EUR.

Restoration work that is already finished is great. The rooms are a bit naked and I hope that they add more objects of interest with time. Education experience.

A historical place where you can see the living conditions of the nobles and details of the daily life of the palace.

Part of this Castle was rebuilt from scratch, but the historical external view and interior was saved, thanks to detailed description, found in chronical. You must visit it, if you are a medieval castle fan.

Great restoration, descriptions in English, tour guides in most of the rooms that can answer questions in English. Go around back to see what the walls used to look like.

Very nice castle and museum, I would recommend to buy tickets for both. You also have a view to the river and next to it there is a park that you can sit.

Superīga vieta. Skaisti, ir ko redzēt, atjaunots, iedvesmojošs
If you are a tourist I recommend you to visit Bauskas castle. It is better than most Great Britain castles. And the nature around it is also amazing. There is a place, called corner of happiness in front of the castle with a view to the river bangs

Must visit place. Renovation is on and the old palace is closed at the moment. it will be operational from 2021. You can visit the new one and experience the artifacts. Walk behind the castle and experience the fortifications in those ancient times.
