Restaurant Hot Stone Chalet

A great place to enjoy the fondues. Our server (terribly sorry to have forgotten his name) was a gentleman who could speak nine languages and was a great server.
Really had a good time.

I came for dinner on Friday night just when they opened (6 pm) and it was great. Unlike many reviews, I had an excellent service by a blonde lady who suggested me to have the “pierrade” and teach me how to manage the cooking of different meat pieces. She was gentle and provided good service. Before getting the main course, I was offered a delicious bread with butter and a homemade pate.
The “pierrace” is perfect if you are hungry (as I was), but I guess it could fit two people (the 300 gr. mix meat option). The sauces were good, but the salad had so much mayonnaise that it was disgusting (that’s why I am giving only 4/5 stars for food). The chocolate mousse was okay, but I might have expected more. Definitely the best of the night was the experience cooking the “pierrace”, but be aware that after some time it will keep the meat warm, but not cooked. So I’d suggest to cook everything first and then warming it up (in case you are a slower eater). Overall, I think it wasn’t that expensive for a main course, two drinks and dessert (52 euros). The atmosfere makes you feel like you are in a beautiful cabin at the montains.

Amazing steak on the hot stone with wine. I had the gratin potatoes and they were also amazing.

We loved sitting outside in the sun with such a lovely view. The portions are big, be hungry!

Unfortunately they were out of cheese fondue the day we went, but the hot stone steak recommended instead was a treat, and came with lots of sides. The service is friendly.

Nice place. Bit of a ski Stube vibe. We both had the Hot Stone which was great. Good meat and overall good food. Friendly personal and cheesey German music (which is great from time to time and fits the overal theme). Overall would recommend. Serves Luxembourgish beer from the tap. And dogs welcome, which is also great.

Friendly stuff, delicious home-made unforgettable food, atmospheric inside. Completely satisfied. Steak on the hot stone surpassed our expectations, definitely recommend!!!

Cold wet day in Vianden and we found a wonderful restaurant with charm and views. Waiter/Owner was very helpful (French to English). The food was outstanding as was the venue. Worth the trip to Europe just to eat here. A must do.

Very nice place! The meat is great quality and the price is not too expensive. The views are nice. It is very cozy inside especially in winter!

Wanna try some local food? This is the best place you go. The food is prepared with passion which makes it more delicious and a visual treat

We went here for lunch & had the home made specialty: cordon bleu; which was excellently prepared (made by order this takes a while). Friendly staff. If you are decidely vegitarian you might be put off the smell of hot seared meat on stone (which is a another signature dish). We spend little over 30eur each; for a main dish & a drink.

Warm service! The hot stone beef both aged and fillet is so so so so so good!

The environment is cozy, wine recommended to us was on point.

Will come back to dine in again when travelling at this part of the world !

I don't know what other people are talking bad about this lovely place especially Philip Vella.
We eat here for YEARS !!! ...don't speak the language !!!
But always and always we are treated nice with lots of patience including our Beagle ( whom is also a regular)
If they are extremely busy and you are cranky of course you get what you give .

Fantastic food, wonderful staff, great calm atmosphere for a late lunch after a long walk. Menus are only in French and German but perfectly easy to understand for English speakers if you take your time

Beautiful view, friendly atmosphere, friendly service, locally authentic cuisine.

We had such a lovely experience here when we visited Vianden yesterday (26/7/2020).

The prices were some of the best in town. This is the only cafe up at the top of the chairlift, so they could viably price gouge. They choose not to. The entire restaurant has a local feel - there are photos of the owner with her dogs on the wall and she was personally there serving people.

All of the waitstaff were so friendly and kind. The restaurant had plenty of outside seating and screens protecting the patrons who were inside. Staff wore masks regularly and properly.

We were not hungry, so we had one of their coffee drinks and some wine. The wine came in a really generous pour. We actually wished we could have eaten, because the croques (of which they have many varieties) looked so good!

I would strongly recommend a trip up the cable car and a drink or a meal at this restaurant.

Absolutely loved this place. They helped us get a seat even without a reservation. My husband tried the meat and I tried the chicken on a hot stone. It was a great experience. The meal came with potatoes (fried, salad or gratin) and a salad. I had a mojito (delicious) and my husband had a local beer. With a soup our meal was under 90 euros which was reasonable for the quality of food we got. Our servers were nice. We had a young lady and gentleman. The service was a little slower but it is not a fast food restaurant. Take your time and enjoy your drinks.
