Memo's cafe/Restaurant

Wonderful family run hotel, restaurant & bar in a divine location. With so many wonderful touches both in the decor and food including great coffee ( Lavazza - italian), Pasta ( Barilla- italian) , fresh local traditional foods, all lovingly prepared.

Memo's is a post covid, local developing business project that appears to be being beautifully nutured by a young professional couple, Harshini & Kris, along with their local staff.

I just had their pittu (red rice & coconut) with some side pots of dhal, fish curry sambol & coconut milk 😎👍.

Well, I have been in Sri Lanka for over 4 months now and had many great meals. But this was right up there as the best, in terms of flavours, textures, presentation lovingly prepared, all in this wonderful setting x

I highly recommend this place, Memo's. Please slow down and get into the Sri Lankan pace, beauty, is a slice of heaven on earth for sure 👍😎

We enjoyed super delicious italian pasta and nice drinks. The prices are really fair, as the portions are quite big. The manager is super friendly. He offered cookies for our little daughter and also made her a big portion of plain pasta for free. The restaurant is really nice decorated and the beach area is beautiful. We totally recommend this place. They also offer kids toys 👍👍👍 Perfect for families.

Really nice café/restaurant by the beach. We found it by luck when we were enjoying the sea and beach. Came first time for drink and dessert, decided to come back for the dinner. Both times everything was perfect from service to food. Really recommend this place. Also we loved the interior. Thank you for nice experience.

Lovely place to stay and enjoy a great food right on the beach with an amazing view 🤩🌴 We had pancakes for breakfast and pizza for dinner and it was delicious 😍 I absolutely recommend this place even though it’s a bit pricey 😁 They also let us stay on their beach chairs for the whole day!

Great little place by the beach. We went during the off season so we had the entire place & beach to ourselves. Great food, and the staff (and the animals) were really friendly!

Absolutely awesome food!! The calamari is the best I've ever eaten. The cocktails yummy! Beautifully done up and extremely warm people.

Very chill oasis in Nilaveli. Nice garden to sit outside in the shades, or can sit inside. Friendly staff.
Due to the shortages a number of things on the many are not available, but everything that is served tastes very good. Could just hang out the whole day, with the ocean breeze, and chill vibe.
Have some very well behaved house dogs.

Loved this charming little place and will definitely be back! One could not ask for enough eco style while feeling relaxed while skipping off for a great dip on their quiet beach. A great place to stay and relax as well as grab a bite to eat. I guarantee that you will love the owners, Betta and Krish, purely lovely people. And it is an easily walkable distance to Pearl Divers (and several others, but I have not tried the others so I don't know about them) as well if you are interested in a great dive company as well.

Beautifully decorated. Perfect balance of chic, clean and high end whilst still being rustic and authentic. The food is outstanding, both local food and Italian. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. This place stands amongst others in the area and absolutely worth the visit.

Really nice laid back atmosphere, cosy seating and pasta that is made in the real Italian way: not smothered in sauce but with just a few ingredients and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. All of this right on the beach. Really enjoyed finding this little place.

A very special place with fantastic food (Sri Lanka Curry and original Italian Pasta) and great stuff ! It’s a wonderful and lovely micro-cosmos! We love this place very much and we are happy to found it!

A wonderful cafe with great Italian/Sri Lankan food with a contemporary boho chic aesthetic. The owners are very welcoming and the staff attentive. We went twice!

Mir ein absolutes Rätsel, warum das Restaurant bisher so schlecht bewertet wurde. Absolut leckeres Essen und Getränke. Ich habe in ganz Sri Lanka noch keine so gute Pasta gegessen. Mega netter und schneller Service, super Ambiente. Auch die Unterkünste sehen sehr gut aus. Unbedingt mal auschecken!

Eine super schöne Atmosphäre, die zum verweilen einlädt. Das Essen schmeckt super lecker - egal ob Bruschetta, Pizza oder die Currys. Wir waren mehrere Male dort und haben es immer sehr genossen. Wichtig: Es ist eine Vorbestellung nötig. Das reduziert die Wartezeit erheblich. Der Chef war zu uns immer super freundlich und hat gerne geplaudert - können wir nur empfehlen!
