A market with all the essentials items. You can buy famous Jaffna sweets from here. The jaffna grapes, nelli syrup and the sweets made from fruits of the palm trees are very popular here. Vegetables and fruits also available. Specially the bananas are very cheap.

Plan to go shopping in Jaffna, this market has many things that is unique to this town. Namely, mangoes, Point Pedro wade (Parathuthrey wada) , "nice" (A sweet snack mainly found in this city, Dried fish. and a good place to get fresh vegetables also. Tip: Visit at least several shops before you buy an item. These sellers are extremely persuasive. Also, try the nelli Juice (Indian gooseberry juice). also get palmyra palm products since they are only found here.
