Sumudu sea food restaurant

Great place, wild, quite, not crowded, great shade.
Only first beer was warm, but afterwards cold as ice... and you need ice in February in Sri Lanka.
Friendly people and nice services.

A real gem. Fabulous seafood; we had the best fresh caught lobster dinner ever, right on the beach; delicious prawns & fish.
We stayed 2 nights in one of their two lovely cabanas. It's very secluded, not crowded, and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach as you go to sleep. Staff are very friendly and make you stay most enjoyable. I highly recommend this beautiful place and will make a point of returning on future trips to Sri Lanka.

We had an amazing time here. There are 2 cabanas to book (2-4persons). We stayed 2 nights in a very beautiful cabana. The owner and staff are super friendly and very helpfull. The food was amazing and we had very fresh seafood. Loved it! It's a hidden pearl, you have your own private beach. Amazing place!

Very tasty😋 battered fish and passion fruit juice especially! Located on the beach, which is quite rocky, while eating you enjoy amazing sea view. small waterfalls happen when waves hit the rocks.

Wow. What can I say, we stumbled across this place while walking along the beach (we were staying in a nearby hotel which was a disappointment so we were wandering looking for food), and the place was like something out of a movie. It's the sort of place that famous tourist 'secret beach' places claim to be. Everything about it was just magical, and the added bonus was that the people and the food were fab too. By the time we finished it had gone dark and we didn't feel comfortable walking back along the beach in pitch black so the owners kindly sorted a tuk tuk out for us and had us whisked back to our hotel in no time.

An extraordinary place to have dinner! Obviously there's no other place to eat at the beach around which makes it unique but also the guys prepare very delicious food (I had a baracuda, sea fruit rice and coconut rotters - not all at the same time ;) ) and the atmosphere is beautiful with candles in between the trees.
After dinner you can walk to the turtle watch and join a guided tour.

What a lucky find! We stayed at the nearby Turtles View Resort Cottages and just went for a stroll at the beach. My, my...what a great time we had sipping our cool drinks right at the oceanside... :)

These are the best people in Sri Lanka. They are super sweet and you can taste their goodness in every bite of their food! Not only is the food deliciously nutritious but it is also served in one of the most serenely surreal places on the planet! Beauty abounds on this land as you have breakfast beneath countless coconut palms and dine by the light of thousands of fireflies that sparkle brighter than the dozens of shooting stars you can count if you simply spend some time looking up. The sounds of the waves bless your ears from about a hundred meters away and the calm sea calls you in with its sweet song. If you are lucky enough to find yourself here you won’t regret spending some time with Sumudu. Enjoy!

A handful of small tables make up this beachside restaurant. Fresh lobster under the shade of some trees and the waves crashing by. Amazing find.

By the way, you look directly in the Beach Front. At day time you can enjoy the fine sandy beach and you have some cuzy possibilities to lay down and catch the sun. And in the evenings the Feeling is just out of time.

Amazing breakfast right on the beach. The team is really kind and do everything to make us feel comfortable. Also we had delicious dinner and really nice mixed juice. Definitely recommend this place for people who like it more quiet.

What a find! We had lunch on two consecutive days at Sumudu. The food is outstanding, prepared by a very talented chef that I had the chance to meet at the end and I had the opportunity to see him cooking in the kitchen. Best curries, amazing seafood and excellent location near the waves. A real gem!

Lovely local restaurant/Bar with an amazing view and very nice staff. You are enjoying your beer, cocktail, juice and food with an amazing view on one of the most beautiful beach in South coast in Sri Lanka.
