Pier88 River Bar/cafe/Restaurant/pizzeria

Was really apprehensive when ordering a steak here as most of the steaks I had till that moment was overcooked. It was a relief when the server asked me how I want it done and that how it got it, perfectly medium.

My better half is a veg and the server suggested a veg pizza and boy was it a "VEG" pizza. It was loaded with veggies and perfectly made.

The vibe the view the service makes it. 5 star restaurant to visit. Pity that it was our last day in SL, else would have surely visited once again.

Quality of the food is really good..food was tasty , dropped by with my wife to have some lunch and we were impressed with the food, drinks and the atmosphere. Prices are little to the higher side, I guess that's alright as long as the quality of the food is maintained at a good level, please don't expect to eat chep over here. this place is full of foreigners at all times, so please understand as locals that it's okay if they give more priority to foreigners because that's how its supposed to be. This place is very good to spend time, chill out,have a couple of drinks and leisurely enjoy your meals, (so if you are in a rush to eat and go please consider these comments) all in all I would like to recommend pier88 to anyone.

One of the best places I have been to. And I have been there many times. Beautiful atmosphere. Food was amazing and the service was superb. Sanjeewa was surviving just and he delivered a great service and was such a friendly soul. Thank you for the best service.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pier88 River Bar and Restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed. It had stunning views of the water, beautifully decorated, beautiful waterfront location, delicious food and drinks. The quality and quantity of the food was amazing. This is the only restaurant we found best in Bentota/Aluthgama and we dined here during all of our 3 days of stay in Bentota.
Couple of small suggestions to the restaurant would be to improve the service time and also to manage the mosquito problem well for the customers especially in the evening.

Probably the best value for money place in the area (bottle of wine for 4k, nice and sizable dishes), lively atmosphere, mix of locals and tourists. Overall, cool place I’d recommend

Great restaurant with a wonderful menu and courteous staff. We came to Sri Lanka for the first time, the guide recommended this establishment, and from the very first visit we fell in love. Convenient location, large menu with a selection of different cuisines from around the world. Spicy can be adjusted to order. The portions are large, the dishes are deliciously prepared, and the ingredients are fresh. We return with pleasure time after time for lunch and dinner; there is an opportunity to try both food with a national flavor and more Europeanized food.

Location is awesome. Right next to the river. Riverside view and feel is awesome. Have a dedicated parking space, maybe a bit tricky to see for first timers.

Service is also great. The do the work very professionally.

Food is just awesome. Nothing to complain about the taste or the quantity. Every dish we tried was great.

A great restaurant near Benthota river. Nice and calm place. We orderd seafood fried rice, and served within 20 mins. It was hot and fresh. The portion was also good and really delicious. Staff is okay and seems friendly. Big parking is available near the restaurant.

Visited this place for lunch last Sunday based on the Google map review score which was very promising. The parking space was very small but anyway could be managed using the roadside since there's no heavy traffic.
The surrounding is really nice, next to a river branch with tree-view and a statue of a Buddhist temple little far. It was nice to sit and have a meal there.
We ordered chicken fried rice and a sea-food one, which got served in around 15-20 minutes.
The taste was very good and the portion sizes were quite average. For the drinks, we ordered avocado juice, it tasted fresh and so good.
Apart from food, there was a small area which was used by the visitors for taking photos, some nice doors, windows, wall and a bench.
Prices were also average and our overall experience was good, you may give this place a try.

Great atmosphere to have a beer with bunch of friends. Foods were delicious and priceworthy. Customer service should be appriciated. You can either have a indoor experience or can have outdoor dining experience. The river, nearby railway bridge, river activities make the place very attractive and alive. Ideal for evening gathering

Pier88 Restaurant is a great place to eat. The food is very good, and they have many different kinds of dishes that taste amazing. They also make tasty fruit juices. The restaurant has a bar, so you can relax and enjoy the view of the Bentota River while you're there.
The place is usually busy, so you might have to wait a bit for your food. But the staff is very friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. A lot of people from other countries like to eat here, so I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good restaurant near Aluthgama town.

Definitely coming back here for a more thorough experience because we couldn't try the lavish Italian food on offer. But the vibe is nice. Odd stink about the place at the time though nothing disgusting.

Amazing ambience and food quality. Lots of beer options and the food we ordered (sea food platter, prawn fried rice) was amazing. excellent view of the back waters. One of the best restaurants in Bentota.

The food variety is good and i like their new mocktail "pier 88", introduced recently. It’s so tasty. No taxes or vat in your bill and that’s a good thing. The meat item’s prizes are fair but seafood or other pizzas not worthy at all for over 4000 lkr.
