Good

I recently stayed at Boss Hotel in Singapore with my wife and 2 year old child. Booked a balcony room (It was the best room listed on Agoda). Arriving late on the 19th of December, I was exhausted from a long flight. The front desk guy's lack of warmth, possibly due to the color of my skin or other reasons. Apparently the staff didn't set a welcoming tone to anyone with brown skin.
The room, a bit small, was clean with all amenities (free unlimited drinking water/tea/coffee/WiFi) except for glasses, only coffee mugs were provided. Surprisingly, the hotel doesn't offer any type of glass in the rooms, which was inconvenient. Despite the compact size, the cleanliness and amenities were satisfactory.
During my stay, I requested a wine glass, only to be informed that they don't provide them. This was followed by another request for a wine opener, and I was asked to come down and directed to do it myself, which I didn't mind.
What stood out the most was the contrast in hospitality between the hotel and the rest of Singapore. From people on the streets to those in MRT stations, Universal Studios and Garden's by the bay, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the same warmth was lacking at Boss Hotel, making it the only negative experience during my 5 Night stay in Singapore.
In a city known for its hospitality, the hotel's staff could benefit from adopting the friendly demeanor observed throughout the rest of Singapore. Despite these challenges, the overall cleanliness and the most convenient location to all attractions make Boss Hotel a reasonable choice for those who can overlook some shortcomings in service.
