Kovalam light house

It abandoned a lighthouse which was built by the Dutch I think. When you come to Casuarina you can come to see this lighthouse. Come with a bunch of people because coming alone couldn't be recommended on this road.

Super cool spot. Secluded and beautiful. Area on the way in is a minefield (literally) that is not very well marked, so careful not to stray too far!

The Karainagar Lighthouse is situated on Karainagar Island, which is part of the Jaffna Peninsula in northern Sri Lanka. 🇬🇧 This lighthouse was created during the British rule ... it was a great way to show the ships and fishers of the sea during the night. The Krishnapillai Visalakshi (Ramasi) couple were employed and where they were settled in guest house (pl see attached picture) , and the British government retired. Now it's inactive without maintenance ...

This is very old & abandoned light house. Approaching road is terrible. Pls avoid rainy season. (October to December)

best place to visit but need to find Kovalam light house @ karainagar.

I has built in Colonial times in Karainagar, Jaffna. Nowadays it is not functioning.

Nice place to go and enjoy .it is located at aboundend rural village .This place is perfect to shoot a ghost film.

The road towards the lighthouse is a complete mess. The lighthouse is falling apart, but it’s still a treasured navigation instrument
