Secretariat of the Governor of Northern Province

I am totally impressed her recent statement about to cancel government servants land and building permit in Vavuniya area whom they have other own home in the town areas and not using those permit homes. Which was a fantastic move. Also the government make great move to control drgus and steeling sand and other illegal activities in the northern province.Not only that there are thousands of acres of land in kilinochchi and Vavuniya district held under government permit and most of those permit holders not using those lands and some of those lease those lands to others for farming. Sadly they are selling those lands to foreign investors for tens of millions of rupees. Which is not acceptable. Those lands should belongs to the Government and the general public how few of those individuals can get the ultimate benefit from those lands. Those lands was given to them to support their life and doing cultivation. But, when they stop doing that intended use then the government should cancel their permit and get back those lands and give to others who don't have lands for living and farming. When the permit holder sell their land at least half of the sales proceeds should goes to the government for the public benefit. This is one of my kind suggestion to our governor. We are having a Strong government with a two third majority in the parliament. Its really great idea to building our economy by using our own resources and reducing foreign imports and increasing exports. By achieving this goal need to use all our resources efficiently. Good luck for the government and our Governor to achieve this task...
