Cool spot with awesome architecture! The climb to the top is pretty unique – just a narrow path (sometimes less than 1 foot wide 😁), but it's solid and safe. Don't stress, enjoy the lower sections if heights aren't your thing. Early morning visits are ideal for a great view and some solitude. 😎 Leave your bags behind for an easy climb. The view is absolutely stunning! Have fun! 🤩

Definitely worth to visit if you are in Kandy. Entrance fee 2000 rupies / person. Great view from the tower but if you want to get to the top you should arrive in the morning. We reached the top at 9 a.m and got there with no problem.

Very cool place… very interesting to get up to the top 🔝
It is very only one narrow way up (30cm / 1 foot and less) and you have to pass everyone on the way but the construction is very solid and it is very safe. So don’t worry! And the view is absolutely amazing! 🤩 have fun (entry 1.000 person / vehicle 50)

Venturing into this place promises an incredible view that's not for the faint-hearted. The staircase, at times just 1.5 feet wide, makes climbing and descending a bit inconvenient. Negotiating narrow sections at the top might require sidestepping. However, the lower sections offer an enjoyable climb suitable for everyone.

Accessing the tower can be a bit challenging, particularly due to the steep and arduous hill. To ease this, it's advisable to either go with a guide or opt for a tuktuk ride. The cost for the tuktuk from the bottom to the top should be around 1,000 rupees.

For the best experience, arriving early in the morning is key to avoiding the crowds. This ensures a smoother ascent to the top. Otherwise, the congestion might hinder your chance to climb all the way up!

Ambuluwawa Tower is simply incredible! I recently visited, and it blew me away with the real beauty of Sri Lanka. The views from the top are breathtaking, surrounded by lush greenery that makes you appreciate the island's natural charm. The towering trees and the fresh air up there are just amazing. If you're a foreigner in Sri Lanka, trust me, don't miss out on Ambuluwawa – it's a slice of paradise that showcases the best of this little island!

Oh, and let's not forget the nearby lake – it's a hidden gem with a fantastic view! Even if you're short on time, make sure not to miss it. The combination of Ambuluwawa Tower and the picturesque lake adds an extra layer of charm to the whole experience. It's a double delight for anyone exploring the beauty of Sri Lanka!

It is very scary to go up to the top of the tower. The railing is low, the gaps are wide (a child can easily fit through it). Only one or two people can fit at the top at a time, two people can't fit next to each other on the stairs. No one monitors how many people are up there, so there is congestion near the top. People going up and down have a hard time changing places, it's scary.

Definitely worth to visit if you are in Kandy. Entrance fee 2000 rupies / person. Great view from the tower top but if you are claustrophobic i suggest not to go as the stairs gets narrower at the top..!!
But yes a must go in Kandy..!!

Amazing experience starting from the ascent to the lower station of the tower by tuctuc to the ascent to the tower themselves. At the end it was not possible to get up to the very top as it was too crowded (and therefore a question of safety)
Clear recommendation, definitely a place to be visited when being in Sri Lanka.

Quite an adventure to even get to. Took a tuktuk from the car park and it seemed to struggle with 3 of us in the back. The views from the base of the tower are breathtaking but climbing is ridiculous. One outside path up the tower starts off a metre wide and soon reduces to half that and down to about 30cm wide as you approach the top. And that is for people going up...and down. It got intimate! Being nearly 2m tall it was a little hairy but we were lucky the people coming down were quite slim. A must-see experience!

Fabulous place to visit as I was passing enroute. Scary and exhilarating all at the same time😅😂🤩 the to tier is extremely narrow, you have to proceed up sideways.

I counted 327 steps/stairs or very to p
Stunning 360° views.
Not for rainy hearted or those stairs if heights. Not suitable for children as gaps in rail is big and can slip through.

There is a parking spot for motorbikes 100ljr, then you have the walk the remaining 1km steep hill. Even tuk-tuks had to zig-zag up part of the hill -it's that steep!

Tickets: 2,000lkr (foreigner)

Ambuluwawa Tower in Sri Lanka stands as a unique architectural marvel, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. My visit 12 years ago left me in awe of its distinct design and the breathtaking scenery visible from its vantage point. The tower's blend of cultural elements and lush greenery creates a harmonious ambiance. It serves as a testament to the rich heritage of the region. However, it's worth noting that reaching the top can be risky due to its narrow structure. I've heard that the wind flow at the summit is quite strong, with incidents of people being blown away. If you decide to visit, exercise caution, especially in adverse weather conditions.

Great experience to climb to this tower, but when the place is crowded it can be very uncomfortable and a bit scary. Sometimes the stairs to the pick of the tower are so narrow that you have to cross it by side. But still I would recommend, I have never been on something similar. Ticket costs 2000 LKR per person. Very nice café beside tower. Great views from the tower - you don't have to climb to the pick for beautiful views.

Incredible view , not for the faint of heart. Not particularly risky but when you have people climbing and descending a staircase that's about 1.5 feet wide in places it gets pretty inconvenient. I had to cross a few sections at the top sideways because it's really very narrow.
Enjoyable even if you don't go all the way to the top, lower sections are easy for all to climb.
Getting to the tower can also be slightly challenging unless you go there with a guide or driver, the hill is extremely steep and difficult to climb.

Great attraction to visit when in Sri Lanka and you're in the area! The road to the top is very steep and I highly recommend leaving your rental vehicle down at the bottom and hiring a tuktuk to take you to the top!

A TukTuk from the bottom to the top shouldn't cost you more than 1,000 rupees. The best time of the day to visit this tower is early morning before the crowds show up.

Otherwise you might not be able to climb to the top!

I remember someone called it Burj Khalifa. Anyway, it's a must visit place when you're in srilanka. Pictures don't do justice to the tower and the views that you see from here. We went here during opening time and it was just 2-3 of us who arrived at that time. Best to visit early morning if you wish to get a good view and some alone time. Ticket prices are 2200 LKR for 2 people.
