Welithalapa kade

It is one of the best places to buy "Walithalapa" in Sri Lanka. Prices are really reasonable and only Rs. 55 for one piece in December 2023.
Also, "Aasmi" in this store is one of the best as well.

If you are looking for savoury snacks, I can recommend egg patties.

This is a traditional family run business that prepares one two of my favourite Sri Lankan traditional sweets “වැලිතලප - kind of like a honey 🍯 crumble cake 🍰 from heaven 👼”, and “අලුවා - like a honey 🍯 rice flour crumbly cookie 🍪 also from heaven 😉”.

The kitchen is right at the back of the shop and is handmade by grandmas 👵🏻 with lots of love.

Absolutely recommend trying both. If you are lucky like me, you will reach before they release the batch and become the first to try it piping hot straight from the kitchen 😋🤤

A must stop location on your way to visit friends or relatives when taking the Kandy-Kurunegala road. Buy extra or eat a few before you reach 😝 they finish that fast! Trust me!
